That's good to hear ladies, I know it's probably perfectly normal. Knowing my luck it'll probably kick in worse than before!
luchi good luck for tomorrow.

BertieBotts · 21/08/2016 20:39

Yep no nausea here. Didn't have it with DS until later on, even with him, I felt sick but wasn't actually physically sick at all except once.

Last time I was pregnant I had to buy a bra because I couldn't walk without pain, this time my boobs are not so bad. DH still reckons they are bigger than normal though.

My symptoms are mostly thirst and tiredness (but even then it's not overwhelming) and weird dreams.

Bellatrixandstrange · 21/08/2016 20:40

I have my booking in appointment tomorrow, could anyone advise what to expect and what questions I should be asking?

Jaffacakes1234 · 21/08/2016 20:44

Booking takes about an hour and is pretty much the midwife asking you questions about you and the fathers medical history and filling in a huge form really!! Mine would have been tomorrow too but I had uncancellable plans so it's another 2 weeks away :-I

Mummymulb16 · 21/08/2016 20:46

U will need to give a urine sample , make sure you have decided on what hospital you want to give birth although the you might be able to change it later ! Lots of questions about your medical history and your partner too so be clued on that! And u will get weighed and height and bloods take.! Had mine two weeks ago now feels so early on but glad it's over with! It just feels like forever until the 12th week scan mines not until 22nd sept one whole month to goHmm

BertieBotts · 21/08/2016 20:46

Luchi good luck! FWIW in my last pregnancy which was slow to develop and ultimately unsuccessful, I had a scan at 5+0 which showed nothing and then one at 5+2 which showed a tiny little 3mm sac. That was smaller than it was supposed to be, they reckoned I was a week behind dates, so I think it's likely at 6 weeks you'll be able to see something. Fingers crossed, anyway.

jpeg28 · 21/08/2016 20:50

Good luck luchi when I had my scan last week I was 4+6 and they saw a tiny sac so I'm sure you'll see something.

I haven't booked in with MW yet... When should I?

BertieBotts · 21/08/2016 20:53

Yep, medical history I was unprepared for. They asked about history of miscarriage, breast cancer/ovarian cancer and cot death in either family, which surprised me. It might be worth asking your families if there is anything you need to know about. I expect you can add it later though if you find out about it too late for the appointment.

I don't think there are any special questions to ask, perhaps what foods to avoid? They will likely give you a load of leaflets and stuff to look at, and a number to call if you have questions.

They don't normally take blood at booking in in the UK IME but they might in some areas.

cantmakeme · 21/08/2016 20:57

Hmmmm, yes, squash sounds ok actually bertie

cantmakeme · 21/08/2016 20:58

Yes, booking app not that exciting tbh, but good to get your book. Do they still give the book at booking app?

Jaffacakes1234 · 21/08/2016 21:00

I've never had bloods at booking, usually done at 10 weeks not necessarily by a midwife, just the practise nurse with my last one

BertieBotts · 21/08/2016 21:02

I think booking in is normally 8-10 weeks?

BertieBotts · 21/08/2016 21:03

Emma's diary? Grin Please no! Well I expect you all to roundly mock it for me since I won't get one!

TopKittyKat · 21/08/2016 21:13

Just dropping in to say good luck luchi

I hope everyone has a restful nights sleep. I'm off to bed now...zzzzzzzzz

LuchiMangsho · 21/08/2016 21:20

Thanks guys. I shall update you. I had a bit of brown blood exactly a week and a bit ago. A few streaks and then nothing. After my heartbreaking MMC I just can't find the mental reserves to feel hopeful, so I've drawn up a worst case scenario list. Sorry to always be this pessimistic but between work, a 4 year old and DH working in Europe this year, I'm shattered. IF everything goes well, I'll be heading to the GP to ask for a referral.

Mummymulb16 · 21/08/2016 21:23

I had mine at 6 weeks as My GP suggested it! Most place do then at 10 weeks so very surprised I had to this early! To be honest the earlier the better I say good luck all Smile

RaRa25 · 21/08/2016 21:23

Good luck Luch.

Jaffacakes1234 · 21/08/2016 21:44

My bookings have all been at 8 weeks then bloods at 10 weeks. This booking is at nearly 10 weeks though so maybe this time they'll do it at booking

MyGreenSofa · 21/08/2016 22:11

Last time I had booking in appt at 10 weeks and bloods done then too.

Good luck for tomorrow ladies with scans!

Number4OnTheWay · 21/08/2016 22:18

Good luck lunchi
I'm not even going to ring the midwife till closer to 10 weeks. I'll phone the epau to organise a 6, 8 and 10 week scan and then if all is well I'll book a booking in!

Superbabywright · 21/08/2016 22:29

Hi. I'm struggling with achy boobs and being utterly shattered.
I also feel either starving but can't eat anything or not hungry but shuffle all food on the planet in my mouth once I have a little taste.
Where I am from we phone the midwife at 8 weeks and then I am presuming the booking in goes from there. I think a lot has changed since 6 years ago when i was pregnant with DD.
I'm thinking of all of you going for early scans xx

Bubbinsmakesthree · 22/08/2016 01:57

Hope you get some positive news today luchi Flowers

MrsY87 · 22/08/2016 06:06

Good luck with your scans today everdene and luchi, hope it's positive news.

I love coffee too, I've found that Nero do the best decaf, it actually tastes of something and the purple decaf nespresso pods are also good!

My excessive thirst is driving me mad, has anyone found anything that is actually thirst quenching? Water or squash just doesn't seem to do it for me even though I'm drinking litres of it!

LuchiMangsho · 22/08/2016 06:56

Plenty to keep me distracted. My excellent sleeper child didn't fall asleep till 9:30 and woke up at 6:30. WTF?Then I have to go from the scan straight to work where I'm sitting on an interview panel to hire someone. Need to maintain some degree of professionalism.

Also I need to sew labels on to the bloody uniforms which I've avoided doing all summer. And buy lunch boxes. Don't want to start a thread about it- those with older kids- any lunch box recommendations? School doesn't provide lunches (immensely long story why) and I need to get my act in order.

MilkyChops · 22/08/2016 07:20

Does anyone know how long the appointments take at EPAU? My DH obviously wants to come but not really appropriate for my 17 month old to be zooming round if it's a case of waiting to see a few different people.

I've woken up before toddler, really need a wee but dare not creep across the landing.
