Ah congrats jojo! I'm looking forward to my scan on Monday. I wish I could get a scan once a week but that would be such a waste of money!

I know london it felt a bit excessive but we're going on hols next week and moving soon too. I found out I have a possible bleed so have been advised no heavy lifting or excessive moving about, so it was useful to know that (and that DH will be taking care of lifting the cases)

No more private scans now though, but feel much more reassured that a lower risk of mmc.

London I know this is gross...but I have been doing really big number twos lol! I normally do rabbit droppings haha but I would rather it be like this than have the runs. I feel for you :( I have also been chocolate obsessed! It's ridiculous. Midwife thinks it may be calcium related but a yogurt doesn't really appeal in the same way as a cadburys mini roll (or five!) I'm going to be a whale in a few months!!

jojo no judgement. My scan on Monday will be my 3rd. First was a private scan, the second was with the EPU following cervical pain and then this next one is private as well as part of the blood tests.

I think its totally worth it and in the US your OBGYN scans you regularly in the first trimester. I totally get why the NHS doesn't because of resources but its so nice to have the reassurance that everything is progressing as it should.

Haz you have my sympathies.

My nausea is kicking into high gear again this afternoon and I am volunteering tonight on a panel. I have no idea how I'm going to get through it.

Hope you're all going well, I've not been on for a few weeks now, just been hectic.

I wondered how everyone got their first scan before they had their booking appointment, can I just call up and book it? Or do they do it automatically?

Hi Chozzle, I rang my doctors and they said that the midwife will book it for me when I go for my booking in appointment. However, I know others on this thread have had to self-refer. May be best to ring your doctors/ midwife and see what their policy is.

Most of us who had scans before 12 weeks either paid for private scans or were referred to the EPU because of pain or bleeding.

A private scan costs about 100 quid. You typically get your appointment a short while after you are referred to your local hospital. For me separate letters came in for the Booking Appt and my NHS 12 week scan within a week of my referral.

I had to call the maternity unit to book my booking in appointment. Will try calling them to get the dating scan booked. Rather that than a long wait after the booking appointment.

I had a private early scan at the weekend, twins run in my family so wanted to see what was what, the lady said it looks like only one thankfully

Phoebe had her 12 week scan today I think, hope it went well!

Mine is tomorrow! I am feeling less nauseas and sense of smell is calming down, but am still very tired though. Hoping that the second trimester will bring me some energy.

The first of the dating scans already! Mine is on Monday, can't wait to know for sure whether there's actually a baby in there!

Annoyingly my boss has just gone on holiday for two weeks and I think it would be unprofessional to tell the team before him so I've got another two weeks of hiding the bump (more just trying not to draw attention to it really as there's no hiding it now!). I probably should have just told him today but he seemed really busy and I'm nervous about telling work as I've only been back 9 months so I couldn't pluck up the courage to ask to speak to him.

Well here it is! First 12 week scan and happy to report that everything is fine. Little bugger would not play ball so didn't get the NT measurement so will have to rely on 16 week bloods.

Absolutely amazing, we're both so happy and incredibly relieved. EDD moved to 24th Jan but I'm going to stay on here if that's ok?

My fiancée had her booking in appointment today, part of which involved a blood test and we were told some of the results would be sent by post. For those that have already had the blood test, how long did you have to wait to receive the results?

Mshepp and skylucy I had mine went through the post and they took about 5 days with a letter to say they are all ok and to keep the results with my pregnancy notes.

To day I have vomited: my morning fig rolls, my afternoon fig rolls, and a cup of tea.

I have stopped taking cyclizine as felt it was making me too drowsy and wasn't sure it was doing anything for the nausea, but maybe that was a bit premature.

I swear bean has done a growth spurt today. Suddenly I have an actual bump. Tummy aching and feeling stretched! Anyone else got a bump but not been scanned yet, are you feeling like the bump is making it real?!

Aww yay to the 12 weeks scans happening, mine won't be til next month but it's still exciting that our group is getting there together.

twocats the post natal ward at the Rosie isn't spectacular I'm afraid. I know they have tried to change things since DS though. Sadly they are anti vbac in the birth centre

11+3.....look about the same size as I was at 16wks last time!

Ready, that's what I look like now, too, I'm 11+0, and I didn't show at all until about 22 weeks last time!
