pulpi I hope things happen soon for you. My plug and waters came out the same time with DD1 when I was in hospital and it was bloody huge (although I was heavily drugged up at the time so my memory may be wrong!)

My pains have gone but I'm quite pleased because my washing machine has just bloody broken!! Engineer can't come out til next Wednesday although telling them I'm about to give birth did bump me up the list a bit!

julfin · 22/07/2016 15:21

Pulpi please can you provide us with a line-by-line script of your conversation with DH? The one where you suggested DTD after losing your mucus plug?

Very best of luck to you and Tams - exciting!

AnnaT45 · 22/07/2016 15:21

Eeeekkkkk waters going during sex! Lol!

Sounds very promising for lulu pulpi and tams I hope things get moving soon. This heat being pregnant is foul!

I've dropped off the thread a bit I'm sorry. I've had some bad days this week with everything that's going on and been struggling a bit. We've got mums funeral Monday and then I see consultant weds so all going well will have the section a few days after.
I'm still reading and you all sound like you're doing well!

cheery BF has no real pattern the first few weeks. Just feed on demand and after 6 weeks you'll get a pattern going. They'll let you know when they're hungry!!

Xx

God dats I can do nothing else while breastfeeding. In fact I frequently need DH to come and hold Ruben's scratchy little paws away from my boob / his face so that I can get him to latch on.

Cheery yesterday it felt like Ruben was feeding non-stop from 4am to 11am. This cluster feeding business is knackering. I just kept telling myself he would have to sleep for more than a 5 min stretch at some point... Thank you for your comments on my anxiety by the way. My mum died at 45 when I was 19 so a very similar story to you. My GP was super insightful - she said getting worried about your own mortality just after childbirth is totally normal and natural, and that I was going to have to navigate a line between what is just normal mothering worries, and what is obsessive and anxious thinking. Tricky to separate out! However I have felt so much better the last two days that I have to admit that hormones must have played a part in how dire I was feeling. I'm still worried about the lump, but less so having had a Google and seen how many women get armpit lumps when their milk comes in. I went to the doctor as fast as I found it so it's not like I've ignored it - I need to try and put aside worrying about it until the next GP appointment now. Also easier said than done, but I am trying!

Awwwwh pulpi go on, give it a go - it would make an excellent embarrassing story for your baby's eighteenth...

Bluebell20 · 22/07/2016 16:47

Anna I missed your post. I'm not surprised you're struggling - you must be running through a whole rainbow of emotions every other minute. I really hope that your mum's funeral goes well and is a beautiful celebration of her life. I will be thinking of you on Monday. Xx

GoingLoopyQuickly · 22/07/2016 20:59

I lost my plug at the same time as my waters went and an hour before my first contraction at 38+4 with ds. The plug was suprisingly big.

This time I think the baby is following the guide book. 39 weeks today. No plug loss. But have started getting very faint period pains.

pulpi · 23/07/2016 09:00

lulu and tams - any news? I'm trying to be patient but aside from a few cramps yesterday, nothing much seems to have happened. Well, aside from the baby dropping some more, which was to be expected. I'm hoping you ladies are having more luck!

40+2

pulpi · 23/07/2016 13:14

Good gods man! How much more of this mucus plug could possibly come out?! I've got boogies that would make Roald Dahl's giants turn away in horror.

dats · 23/07/2016 19:07

Grin sounds lovely!!!!

Lulabells · 23/07/2016 21:14

Lol at Pulpi. I am enjoying your mucus plug updates! Nothing shifting here, I'm guessing I will have another week to go yet. It's a bit crap being due at the end of the month when everyone else is enjoying newborn cuddles!

GoingLoopyQuickly · 23/07/2016 23:27

I am with you lulabells. It feels very strange being one of the last standing, but edd not until 28 july, so to be expected.

But don't despair. I lost my plug and had a "clear out" when my waters went with DS, ten days early. So just because your plig is staying put, it doesn't mean nothing is happening. Bear in mind ds labour was 10 hours from waters breaking to cuddles and just three days before he wasn't even engaged!

Liz09 · 23/07/2016 23:49

Had a lot of period-like cramping last night, so thought something might've been happening, but nope! Woke up this morning and baby had definitely dropped though, so that's a good thing, as he/she was still not engaged at my appointment on Friday.

Forced myself to walk the dogs in the freezing cold this morning. 2 degrees here. They were a pain in the ass, and my nose was dripping like a tap, so DH got a mouthful when I got back in the door (because it's obviously all his fault). Blush

40+3 and fed up.

GoingLoopyQuickly · 24/07/2016 04:21

Sorry I misssed this before, but where is "here" for you liz09? Should I be jealous?

I have just woken up from a creepy dream. Nothing to do with babies, although a baby was born somewhere in it. It was mostly about weird freaky people and bullies. I usually try to make sense of dreams, but this one can just "do one"....

tams13 · 24/07/2016 06:09

liz 2 degrees! I don't envy you that one!

anna I'm not surprised you're struggling. You have been through and are still going through a lot.

bluebell sounds like a very constructive conversation with your gp.

pulpi how are things going?

Baby girl was born on Friday evening. She is lovely! Came home yesterday afternoon and have been up literally all night with her.

pulpi · 24/07/2016 08:49

Tams - Congrats! Hopefully you can get a quick nap in soon.

Some cramping this morning (likely due to a full bladder). I can definitely feel him sitting on my cervix. I'm going to spend the day walking and bouncing on this damn birthing ball. I am slowly losing patience.

Then again, I'm not caught in that massive delay to cross at Dover. Just watching the news this morning and people had to sleep in their cars last night??

40+3

Liz09 · 24/07/2016 08:52

GoingLoopy Rural NSW, Australia. Very hot in summer, very cold in winter! Grin

Congrats tams! Smile

pulpi I'm wondering which one of us will go first! Grin

GoingLoopyQuickly · 24/07/2016 09:26

Liz09. I bet you have some beautiful scenery there.

I am getting more frequent period type pains this morning but can't work out whether it is because I "slept" on the spare sofa or whether something is happening. Dp has just got up and I haven't thought it worth mentioning yet!

Congrats Tams

pulpi · 24/07/2016 10:12

I'm hoping today is our day, Liz and GoingLoopy. My contractions, if they aren't just wind, are still so mild and irregular that I think I'm not even aware of half of them. I'd love it if there was some green light that went off on my belly button that would signify labour has truly started.

dats · 24/07/2016 10:30

tams!! Massive congrats, hooray!

Good luck today, pulps, Liz and GoingLoopy

Anna, how're you doing lovely? Thinking about you

dats x

KayTee87 · 24/07/2016 11:39

Congratulations on all the new babies! Been keeping up as much as possible on the fb group.

Officially a day 'overdue' now but every day is another day closer to meeting our baby so trying not to be too impatient.

My left hip is agony today, just about to go for a warm bath so hopefully that will ease it.

Does anyone know how many of us are still waiting for our babies to arrive?

pulpi · 24/07/2016 12:19

Well, at least you, me, Liz and GoingLoopy are still on the pineapple vindaloo raspberry leaf diet, but I imagine there are a few more ladies on the thread as well.

AnnaT45 · 24/07/2016 12:58

liz I'm from Sydney but moved to the UK when I was a teenager. DH desperate to go visit next year as he loves it there...I'm scared about flying with two little ones all that way! Most of my family live in Perth and just moan about the heat!!

Thanks all for being supportive as ever. I'm
Feeling better today, but just not looking forward to tomorrow at all. But I know it's party of the grieving process and I'm hoping once it's done I can focus more on the baby as its not really been on my mind.

Congrats tams how you feeling? We need a pic!

kaytee I'm not due till next weekend so in still here! I'll have a section on the 1 August if it doesn't come before. I feel the pain going over 40 weeks. I went 12 days with DD. The constant 'had the baby yet' messages drive you crazy!!! Hang on in there it'll be here before you know it X

primarynoodle · 24/07/2016 15:15

I know this has been said several times but I have just joined Facebook - how do I join the Facebook group again?

dats · 24/07/2016 16:10

Befriend Becky Scase, I think. She'll open the door for you Smile

birchybaby2 · 25/07/2016 01:48

Anna - hope tomorrow goes as well as it possibly can. Be thinking about you. Just realised we're after midnight so it's today. Xxx
