A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

Labergere welcome and sorry you are feeling so pants!!

Catlady100 · 08/07/2016 17:57

Hi all, can I join you. Due on 3 feb and it's my first 😊

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 08/07/2016 18:20

Hi ladies

Had my booking appointment yesterday, all pretty standard except I wasn't able to pee on demand Blush so no urine test for me!

Annoyingly I've been classed as high risk because of my asthma- which is well managed. Because I take my preventer inhaler twice a day as prescribed the MW said it isn't classed as managed even though I told her I can't remember the last time I took my reliever- probably when I last had a chesty cold!

Also because I had a borderline 3rd degree tear with DS I have to see a consultant and there may be a chance I have to have a section! Sad

I'm now having to walk around with my jeans undone, eventhough I've lost 10lb in weight from not eating much!

9 weeks tomorrow!

raddersmrs · 08/07/2016 18:22

Hey all, had my early scan at 7 weeks today. All measuring right and little heartbeat fluttering away. Could see two little arm prongs poking out.

It was a twin pregnancy but must've lost the other bean as the sac was empty.

Feeling relieved and chuffed we had it

ButtonTum · 08/07/2016 19:33

Good news radders, such a relief isn't it

gumbootsandjandals · 08/07/2016 19:48

10 weeks today.

Still haven't heard from MW. Getting nervous that my 12 scan won't get work and/or hubby won't be able to get time off at short notice.

Dare I say it but the nausea seems to be subsiding. I have managed to eat more this week and actually felt hungry today. I had lost 2kg in 2 weeks but have gained half a kilo this week. Unfortunately that is probably due to eating chips for dinner every night (except tonight - had pizza Hmm) and lots of fig rolls. Need to hit the mangoes hard, iygwim Blush

gumbootsandjandals · 08/07/2016 19:58

*scan won't get booked

jpclarke · 08/07/2016 20:24

Hi ladies,
I am so sorry to hear that some of you are going through a loss, it's truly an awful feeling.
I finally went to the gp yesterday who told me I need to stop breastfeeding but my ds is not ready yet so I am up in a heap. When I asked him about the epu he said that is only for public patients and as I am going private he wouldn't refer me. Although my gynae won't see me until I am 10 weeks and 5 days so I am totally up in a heap. My sister had a mmc last year and I am just petrified. I am constantly tired but no real other symptoms yet. Is there any other fellow breastfeeders who were advised to wean??

FriendlyGhost · 08/07/2016 20:37

That's absolutely ridiculous jp. Did he say why? My dd is 19 months today and still loves her breastfeeding so I have absolutely no intention of weaning. It's considered perfectly safe during pregnancy and many women go on to tandem feed. Have a look at the kelly mom and la leche league websites. They have lots of info. I'll find links in a bit. I know several pregnant mums who are still breastfeeding. One is about 30 weeks now and all is fine. Don't listen to your dr!

FriendlyGhost · 08/07/2016 20:41

Here are some links:

There you go jp hope these help. It's made me quite angry a dr would say that. How old is your ds?

FriendlyGhost · 08/07/2016 20:44

Sorry realise I may have come across as a mad old hippy there. Obviously I do trust doctors 99% of the time but in this case yours is talking bollocks and his/her advice is outdated.

jpclarke · 08/07/2016 20:54

Thank you so much friendly, I had read a few things online. And I did dismiss what he was saying a bit. My ds is 19 months too so I am glad I am not the only one. I am just feeling very nervous this time. Have you been having much symptoms?

FriendlyGhost · 08/07/2016 21:55

I've had a lot of symptoms (exhaustion, nausea, sore nipples etc) but they're not as strong as last time or maybe I'm just more prepared. All pregnancies are different so try not to worry. Could you book a private scan? I have one tomorrow and only cost £50

Nayab24 · 08/07/2016 23:32

Hi, hope you're all well, I'm new to this..

So according to my doctor I'm 7 weeks pregnant.. But I feel like my body is changing way too quickly, as in my bras are shrinking and my work trousers are getting really uncomfortable.. Is it too early to buy maternity?

It's my first baby so I have no clue what the abbreviations mean and what to expect over the coming months.. I'm due end of Feb and that seems so far away..

Also with sickness, I have good days where I hardly ever feel sick or throw up and then I have days where I feel sick all day.. But strangely I feel like the sickness is getting better.. Is it too early for it to get better though?

Any advice is very much appreciated xx thanks xx

GinIsIn · 09/07/2016 06:23

YES! 9+3 and I think the sickness is passing! Yes, admittedly I feel a bit nauseous right now, but it didn't wake me up in the middle of the night so I am taking that as a win!!

GinIsIn · 09/07/2016 06:30

literally types that out then threw up. Bollocks.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 09/07/2016 07:27

Urgh! I have a vomiting 3 year old this morning - not good for my nausea! Sad

Mysterycat23 · 09/07/2016 07:36

fenella yes 2 days no upchuck and then this morning violently sick yet again! Aargh!

Blueskies80 · 09/07/2016 08:12

11 weeks today.. Nausea and exhaustion is starting to lift now... Can't tell you how happy I am...
Scan Thursday...
I have passed my MC date from last year.
Daring to dream this might work now.

wispaxmas · 09/07/2016 09:18

That's great, blueskies!

10+3 I think, still have the same nausea and exhaustion I've had for the past 4ish weeks and it's getting old. Haven't actually been sick, though, so I ought not to complain really. I've got work all weekend and not feeling it. My limit of 2 caffeinated coffees a day may have to be abandoned!

MarjorySunshineDust · 09/07/2016 09:20

jp I agree with friendlyghost I'm breastfeeding dd (who is nearly 3!) and have no intention of trying to wean her. It's perfectly safe and I know several women who have gone on to tandem feed. Your dd may wean naturally as the pregnancy progresses but lots continue.

Nausea still bearable over here, I was sick yesterday but think that was mainly because I hadn't eaten enough. I'm starting to feel hungry again and not just nauseous which is nice! 10 weeks tomorrow, I really hope it doesnt return. I've got my booking in app on Thursday.

Evergreen17 · 09/07/2016 10:01

8+3 and I think my headache has lifted! Smile

And my mood Smile

Still sore boobs as that seems to be my main and most times only symptom apart from being tired. But maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel as I didnt fall asleep on my desk yesterday!

LaceyLee · 09/07/2016 10:02

Yay for ladies with reducing sickness! wispa I'm the same not actually been sick so don't feel I can really complain but hating the nausea all the same. Really feel for those who are chucking up as well 😔
On the breastfeeding thing jp I seem to have managed to wean my 18 month old by introducing her to cows milk (she was cmpa but habe done the milk ladder). She loves that and isn't even asking for boobie milk at night. She asked this morning but I said no and she calmed down and went back to sleep really quickly. That's just personal preference though, I was ready to wean, working full time, pregnant and breastfeeding is quite tough! I agree that there's no specific reason to though and it seems quite odd that your doctor told you to!

PhoebeGeebee · 09/07/2016 10:03

blueskies my scan is Wednesday. I can't believe I'm almost twelve weeks already. However, the reassurance from the reassurance scan has totally disappeared and I'm back to constant worry and anxiety.

I've had virtually no symptoms and those I did have totally went at 8 weeks on the dot. The only thing slightly putting my mind at rest is if I suck my tummy right in (I've got quite a chubby tummy) and poke it, I can feel the start of a bump (at least I think I can, I might just be kidding myself).

How are you feeling about Thursday?

CeeCeeEnnEss · 09/07/2016 10:38

I'm back to tiredness and nausea. Can't feel any hardness in my belly though. 9+3 today, and I just woke up after a 12 hour sleep.
