A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Third thread already (we're a chatty bunch!) Second thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2662110-Due-in-February-2017-thread-2?

Haz maybe you ovulated later than normal that month? If the early scan showed all was normal with a proper heartbeat then that's really really good!! Metallic taste is a classic pregnancy symptom!!

Mystery - mine too all veiny with big nips! ( lol!) and they are huge!! They don't look like my boobs at all! Smile

Jojoclaire · 08/07/2016 12:01

haz sorry you're worried. I'm guessing you've given the doc/ MW your dates already and technically they won't know you've had a private scan, so really you should be able to get your scan in a week or so couldn't you? Did you have one booked? Sorry you might have already said when it was... As mystery says the scan could be wrong and you know your cycle best.

Thinking of you anyway, having exactly the same worries and DH doesn't want to go through worry of another scan, he's a sensitive one (and we could do with not spending another £99!)...

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 12:10

Ah thanks guys, I am feeling a bit calmer reading all your comments. I have my first midwife appt tomorrow so will tell her everything! Although I did already on the phone and she didn't seem bothered and because things change so quickly this early it's easy to date wrong. My mum and sister never had symptoms so maybe I am like them or just had them mildly. You just read so many horror stories don't you :( Yes the m/w has said that to me the private scan isn't their point of reference and they go by cycled and last period etc, but I have no idea what of my cycles! I think I ovulated around mid May so that would set me back a couple of weeks. Maybe I am 8ish weeks? God knows! Let's hope I get my '12 week' scan through quickly! Xx

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 12:11

Ps the only reason I suspect I ovulated is (sorry TMI) change in discharge, put it this way there was a lot and I was gagging for it haha X

FriendlyGhost · 08/07/2016 12:54

Sorry you're worried Haz. A metallic taste is definitely a pregnancy symptom. Mine is sometimes accompanied by bleeding gums. Attractive! I asked the dentist about it last pregnancy and she said it was to do with hormones and increased blood flow. I've had this on and off for the last couple of years anyway because I'm still breastfeeding but it was the increase that made me suspect quite early on that I was pregnant.
Symptoms do come and go. Last time I had sickness for over 18 weeks but by 9/10 weeks I had ok days. These made me panic just like you but I think it's normal. If you're really worried have you looked on groupon or similar to see if there are any early scan deals? They can be really cheap on there.

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 13:48

No I haven't but I am going to look right now! Thanks friendly! I will keep an eye out for bleeding gums, I've not experienced it yet when flossing or brushing etc! I do not want symptoms at all, but when they go I can't help but worry Xx

wm3010 · 08/07/2016 14:00

Hi ladies, mind if I join you? I have been lurking for the last few days before taking the plunge! Currently 10+5 with number 2, think I am due 31 January but the January ladies all seem so far ahead of me that I think I might feel more at home here. Scan is a week on Tuesday, it still seems ages away though!

Have been feeling pretty rubbish, lots of nausea although not actually being sick and very tired all the time. Also having rubbish hayfever symptoms which I do get occasionally but seems to be worse during pregnancy and of course I can't take usual drugs! Really struggling with work at the moment as my boss is away and we are super busy but I am just not able to put in loads of extra hours as I would usually. Feel like poor dh is being dumped with everything at home!

PrincessPlod · 08/07/2016 14:25

All that positive thoughts sadly not my turn this time. Another mmc so I wish you all these in your pregnancies Grin

Carly6971 · 08/07/2016 14:58

Healthy bubba measuring 2 days ahead at 9+6 :) was wriggling all over the place! Maybe just maybe it's our turn to be parents :) beyond in love with our little ivf miracle x

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 15:00

I'm so sorry princess. Xx

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 15:01

carly congrats on your scan. After my earlier worry about having all this energy etc, I am sat here struggling to stay awake and tempted to have my first coffee since finding out because exhaustion has just hit me like a wall. Fingers crossed this means good news xxx

LondonGirl83 · 08/07/2016 15:09

Princess so sorry

Carly congrats on the positive scan!

CeeCeeEnnEss · 08/07/2016 15:13

So sorry princess

And great scan pics carly, amazing!

Jojoclaire · 08/07/2016 15:17

Sorry princess you sound as though you're being very strong but I'm sure it's not easy so please look after yourself Flowers

Great scan carly. how many cm is the little miracle? It looks huge!!

Carly6971 · 08/07/2016 15:40

princess so sorry. I know how awful it is. Take care of yourself and give yourself time. Never give up. Sending love X

jojo haha it's amazing how big it's grown in 3 weeks gone from 7.4mm to 3.4cm!! X

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 15:53

How exciting carly god they grow quickly! Didn't realise it was that quick! X

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 16:07

Sorry to hear your news princess xx

Carly - I also had IVF - it makes it so much more scary doesn't it? Congrats on your scan x Smile

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 16:12

Haz I was asking my friend about symptoms and she hardly had any. We just hear so much about people who are tired/sick but there are loads who don't. I guess they don't need as much support on the forums? Also around that time my symptoms went and I was in floods of tears fearing the worst but a few weeks later I felt awful again! There are loads of women who have no idea they are even pregnant until really far along! It's easier said than done, but try not to worry unless you have an actual reason to. Oh my gosh I should so take my own advice!!! Ha!! Wink

Carly6971 · 08/07/2016 16:27

sparkles definitely more scary with ivf babies, plus we have suffered a loss before so today a real milestone as was the day I miscarried my previous pregnancy. But after 10 long years finally looks like I could be a mummy :)

haz yes they grow so fast! No wonder we are so tired!!

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 16:33

Carly oh sorry to hear about your loss. Yes we were trying for two years but then found out it might not happen for another 10/15 years. Given a 10% chance per year! We had ICSI and it was very hard but very worth it!! It feels like I've pregnant for 6/7 weeks longer though as I had to go through all the hormones/menopause/over stimulation!! My poor husband has had to deal with all the mood swings! But every injection and tear will be worth it when we have our little bubbas! Xx

LondonGirl83 · 08/07/2016 16:34

Yeah, I get into a blind state of panic ever so often. My nausea hadn't been so bad for a few days but now has come back with an extreme vengeance this afternoon. I have a train ride from London to Manchester this evening and I fear I'm going to be sick

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 16:36

But congrats Carly!! Lovely scan pic!! Xx

LaBergere · 08/07/2016 16:36

Hello!
Can I join the group?!
I'm 8 weeks +5 today and feel like death. Smile

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 17:00

thanks sparkles I know I doubt the angst is any good for the bean so I need to just chill! All the women in my family were women like that, pretty much symptomless, I hope i am just taking after them! You are right the people on forums are probably looking for support when feeling rubbish! carly what an incredible journey. So happy for you. london I hope you feel better before tonight! Arm yourself with sour sweets and sick bags :( laberg hello! Congratulations! Xx

SkyLucy · 08/07/2016 17:14

So sorry princess x

Hats off to you lovely IVF ladies, I can only begin to imagine the journey you've been through, and are going through.

Had my booking appointment today - thorough innit?! I'm sure I've no blood left! Been classed as low risk which I'm pleased about. Questions were fairly straightforward - particularly loved "are you and your husband blood relations?" !!
