A home for all of us enjoying the surreality of the first trimester. We're sick as dogs, exhausted to the core, our boobs hurt, we've developed superhuman senses of smell and we're shirking all alcoholic bevvies with a variety of lame excuses...

...we're preggers and over the moon! Join us if you're due in February 2017 and fancy wisdom for the weirdness, support for any sadness, and a safe place where you can get excited about what the future holds, before you go public!

Third thread already (we're a chatty bunch!) Second thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2662110-Due-in-February-2017-thread-2?

Sorry to hear about losses. Can't keep up with how quickly things move on this thread! I'm 9+2, absolutely exhausted and looking forward to a private scan on sat.

Regarding hospitals, I had a very slow labour which is quite common with the the first baby. So even if waters break and they want you to go in (they might still say to leave it a while if contractions not regular enough) you would likely be absolutely fine with a 30 min journey, but everyone's different.

PrincessPlod · 07/07/2016 22:17

Hiya can I join you ladies? I'm 6w7 with twins, so far not easy with bleeding and several scans. I've got another one tomorrow finger crossed heartbeats are found and growth has increased. This is my 5th pregnancy but only have one child 3yr old boy.

FriendlyGhost · 07/07/2016 22:25

Welcome Princess. How exciting to be having twins!
Lacey I also have a private scan booked for Saturday when I'll be 8+4. I can't wait!

H007 · 07/07/2016 22:31

rocket so sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed to all those who are worrying.

Last time my waters broke at 7.30am and I wasn't in "established" labour till 5pm that evening. 30mins doesn't sound too far.

Blueskies80 · 07/07/2016 23:09

Sorry that some are having a scary time of it, fingers crossed for you all. It's so worrying. Flowers

I would say 30 mins is probably ok. I did have a quick labour with my first though (from very mild twinges to active labour in about two hours). I was 6cm when I arrived in hospital and found the dash to hospital pretty hard as had to leg it in between contractions, which were pretty strong by then. Our hospital was only five mins away luckily although parking was a pain. Having said that once there labour slowed down quite a lot, so baby was born about five hours after arriving. Either way the journey won't be pleasant, whether it's long or short if you're in labour! But not all first labours are slow (remember the midwife saying we will just check if we need to send you home...hehe) or late - my first was early too!

LaceyLee · 08/07/2016 04:36

blueskies agree that no journey is great when in labour! If all goes well I'd love to have a home birth this time around.
Welcome princess hope things get a bit easier for you.

Morning everyone!! I haven't posted in here for a wee while, I hope everyone is doing ok? So I wondered if anyone can help me as I'm freaking out big time! I'm 10 weeks tomorrow and have been suffering mild nausea, extreme tiredness and peeking about 4 times a night. Well, now I feel better and I'm really really worried! My nausea is totally gone, I'm not quite as tired (although not exactly full of beans!) and I slept through last night without peeing! I told my midwife and said something about the placenta might have taken over - but I feel like all is lost. My boobs are still big and are now mega itchy and I'm so ridiculously hormonal and moody ( my husband assures me) but I'm still worried. Has anyone else had the same thing? I'm off on holiday tomorrow and I don't want it to spoil it! Thanks! X

divadee · 08/07/2016 07:29

Morning lovely ladies.

Sparkles - I wouldn't worry. I am 9 + 4 and for the first night didn't have a pee all night last night. The night before it was 4 times! I am nowhere near as tired and haven't had an afternoon nap all week. A miracle! Still feel tired though. I still have extreme nausea especially in the evenings but not being sick.

I still do feel pretty grim and wish this first trimester was over.

Mysterycat23 · 08/07/2016 07:42

Good morning! Yesterday was the first day I did not throw up at all! Hallelujah! 9+6. Still feel knackered and nauseous but not as bad. Praying it continues to recede. Hope everyone who had morning sickness is also starting to feel better.

Mysterycat23 · 08/07/2016 07:45

Sparkles your morning sickness sounds to have gone the same way as mine, in fact are we due date buddies? :) I also have the boobs you describe! Feels really weird! Have a fab holiday tomorrow.

SkyLucy · 08/07/2016 07:54

I'm so envious of those of you who've 'lost' the nausea! I continue to feel ghastly, and I look like I'm showing because I'm eating so much to combat the sickness! Dreading the midwife weighing me today.

Still, 8 weeks today, hurrah. Getting there, getting there...

Hi guys, ah thanks so much I feel so much better! Mysterycat are you due 4th Feb? I've found loads on the Internet as well saying similar things. I think my hormones are making me more paranoid! I was lucky as my nausea was never that bad really so maybe it's been easier to wear off! I have heard it can come back though! Yeah my whole boob is itchy!!? Weird?

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 07:58

Divadee sorry to hear about the extreme nausea. Can't be fun. Have you tried eating something dry and plain before you even get out of bed? Supposed to help. The docs can prescribe medication if it gets too bad?

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 08:02

Skylucy I was still feeling awful at 8 weeks! I was so tired I was convinced someone was drugging me LOL! Won't be long now!

Lala6971 · 08/07/2016 08:03

Hey so sorry to hear all the sad news.

I am glad however to read of disappearing symptoms, as I am 9+4 and the nausea and tireless are definitely improving for me too the last 3 days. Although I seem to have developed this awful anger issue...loosing my temper with poor DH at the drop of a hat! Is this pregnancy related? Normal? I have spent this week worrying our little miracle won't have grown but have my second reassurance scan at fertility clinic later so keeping everything crossed. Also got 12 week scan date through, 26th July!! To nervous to put it on the calendar yet though lol x

divadee · 08/07/2016 08:03

Eating does help sparkles but only for about 5 mins. In the evenings sleep is the only thing that gets rid of it. It's horrible. Hoping only just for a couple more weeks. Can't do much longer than that before I feel pretty downbeat about it.

Jojoclaire · 08/07/2016 08:06

Hi sparkles I'm totally the same and also freaking out! I think because we're at the start of Feb (I'm 2nd Feb) and there are lots of lovely ladies after us going through the sickness we had a few weeks ago, it feels like something's wrong. And we probably get used to the symptoms too, like I'm still not eating properly and have little pangs of nausea but barely noticeable compared to the last couple of weeks.

Maybe a look on the January thread might be reassuring? May see you there!

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 08:06

Ah divadee you poor thing! I discovered ginger tea was nice and calm on my tummy and helped a lot. I also bought hard boiled sweets to suck - although sometimes they made me worse! I started off on ginger beer but the fizz and sugar aren't great for health or feeling good!

SBSparkles · 08/07/2016 08:09

Lala I am also so angry!! I'm starting to feel like the little girl in the exorcist! My poor husband has to tiptoe round me! I asked him last night to reassure me I still had symptoms if I was more moody than usual. The answer was a resounding oh my god YES!!!

twocatsandatoddler · 08/07/2016 08:52

sparkles the needing to pee all the time definitely improves at some point as your uterus moves up out of your pelvis to create room to grow so stops putting pressure on your bladder. Unfortunately it comes back later when you get bigger as then everything gets squashed!

I didn't have the increased peeing so much this time and I'm sure it's because I've done this before so my uterus 'popped out' earlier (as evidenced by my massive belly!).

LondonGirl83 · 08/07/2016 09:21

I haven't really had the increased peeing thing at all. I'm still nauseated though not as bad. Still crushingly tired. Boobs still sore. All the same, I can't wait for my next scan at 9 weeks when I take the NIPT. I have no idea how you ladies go the full 12 weeks before your first scan.

Hazandduck · 08/07/2016 11:18

Hi guys, I have my first midwife appt tomorrow. Have been feeling a bit nervous the last couple of days as out of nowhere I have suddenly had lots of energy. I still feel a bit sicky at times but nothing major and had a taste like blood in my mouth earlier, kind of metallic. Other than that I feel fine and happy which is worrying me :( Has anyone else experienced this? I am worried as my early scan showed a heartbeat but dated me at 7 weeks yesterday when my last period was 10 weeks ago yesterday. Have so much paranoia that baby isn't developing properly. I really want another early scan but OH went mad when I suggested it because the last one we could scarcely afford and it just made me more anxious because my dates didn't match up! Don't know if I can wait another 3-4 weeks to be told if it's growing or not! Sorry to be negative I am trying to just enjoy no symptoms but it makes me anxious X

Mysterycat23 · 08/07/2016 11:18

skylucy and divadee at 8 weeks the only time I didn't feel awful was when I was asleep and maybe the 2 mins immediately after waking up. I couldn't even take it one day at a time, it was literally a minute at a time because to think I would feel like that for any longer was making me feel suicidal to be totally honest. I cried while hugging the toilet for especially for 3rd time in a day! It felt like it would never end. I have a lot more respect for my mother now and indeed all mums! Hang on in there. Oranges have been good for rehydration as a nibbly food to supplement toast and crisps.

Skylucy yes I have also been nibbling constantly so have gained on my tummy, I might be unusual in being quite pleased to have gained a bit :) I think it's good in terms of making sure body has fuel in case of illness during pregnancy, for breastfeeding and I imagine after the birth finding time to eat will be quite difficult... so better to gain now!

Sparkles yes! I've been woken up at night by itchy nipples how bizarre is that? Also they are swollen and look weird, trying not to get freaked out by them, sorry for TMI!!

Mysterycat23 · 08/07/2016 11:26

Haz sorry to hear you're worried, I think metallic taste is a pregnancy symptom? They might have got the dates wrong on your scan, someone with more knowledge will be along in a minute but I think it's an estimate at this stage isn't it? If you are in fact at 10 weeks then you might have just arrived out the other side of the morning sickness phase like me and a few others on the thread. The best thing you can do for is to look after yourself and stay calm to keep stress hormones out of your body. Not too long to wait til next scan hopefully all will be well.Smile
