All are welcomed with open arms and TMI whether you come from our sister thread TTC#1 or just want a safe and friendly place to share your journey.

we have ladies from all stages of pregnancy from T1ers, trying to go cold turkey on their POAS addiction, to T2ers wondering where the heck their pregnancy glow got to, to T3ers wondering if that funny feeling is the start of labour or just a fart building.

So jump on the boat, join the pink or blue baby battle and enjoy TTC#1 Grads thread #8!

Potato, were you actually escorted off the premises?!! I have an image of two burly security men escorting a fairly pregnant lady off the premises as if she's a criminal! Grin

Laurenrl · 24/06/2016 16:33

Woo congrats potato I remember how great it felt to be escorted off the premeditated when I left my last job, and that was only to go and work elsewhere not to have a baby! So exciting

Laurenrl · 24/06/2016 16:33

Premises, not premeditated haha

Mileymoocow · 24/06/2016 16:58

I think I'm in nesting mode. Just come home from work and felt an overwhelming urge to clean things that are already clean... bleached the kitchen and fridge as well as hoovering and dusting EVERYWHERE

Anyone else got fat feet? Mine are like puddings Hmm

Thread #8 - TTC#1 Grads - stripy bump photos ahoy!
Mileymoocow · 24/06/2016 16:59

There's even an indentation I'm my ankle where my sandals have been! They're usually too big for me.

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 17:18

Thanks Potato Smile
I saw the midwife today Smile Booking appointment
I was given my pink maternity notes and I gave wee and blood Grin
I am only 6+3 and so hoping everything will be fine
I am low risk she said
I got kudos on blood pressure Grin

On Thursday I will have a scan and so hoping they see a wee heartbeat

I feel a but grown up with my pink notes. I do not feel pregnant, only boobs
Starky yes if I see my scan and it is all good then I will be fine with boring Smile

I do have to sometimes run to the toilet Confused

I am European and even though I have been here for over 11 years I dont have a British passport.
So shitting myself pretty much.

At least my baby will have both and he/ she can find a good place to be.

But potato everyone is entitled an opinion here and we should focus on the little beans.

But potato the point system doesnt account for good hearted people like me that work full time and volunteer with children at the weekend.
It will be selecting the richest and more entitled, not based on morals and hard work. So I think this is very bad. I wouldn't be allowed in the point system as my job as an educator and scientist doesnt pay enough

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 17:19

That was a lot of buts for potato! Grin
Glad to hear you have finished now!!! SmileSmile

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 17:21

Damn that read wrong!!! I was replying what potato said about having to hide so I said "but everyone is entitled an opinion!"
As in no you dont have to hide Blush
Now I made a mess and sounded rude. I meant we are here for the beans regardless of our thought on that

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 17:22

I sit in a corner now BlushSad

Mileymoocow · 24/06/2016 17:23

ever everything will be fine, I'm sure there's no need to worry at all. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? Glad all went well at your booking in! Won't be long until you get your letter through for your first scan Grin exciting times ahead.

After a meeting with my manager yesterday, I'm focusing on retraining at work after maternity leave and taking on a people management role rather than laboratory analyst based role, so hopefully if I have that and my science background I'll not struggle too much to go else where should the proverbial shit hit the fan.

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 17:31

Spain Miley Smile

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 17:32

Lab science sounds good Smile

shelbTa · 24/06/2016 18:14

Congrats potato!! Time to put your feet up!

All sounding good ever!

Blimey miley, yeah they are puffy. Feet up tonight??

How you feeling bunch?

Right what is everyone eating tonight? No appetite tonight (stop press) and need something fit putting in front of me.

X

BunchOfBobs · 24/06/2016 18:35

Miley I've had full on cankles and fat feet all week but today they're behaving. Elevation seems to help as I've spent most of the day laying down and they're yet to swell.

Woohoo Potato! It'll start to sink in next week I'm sure. Glad I'm not the only one on maternity leave now Grin.

Pink I still feel crap. I was momentarily cheered up when I was allowed to purchase some lovely nursing dresses and absolutely squealable monochrome teethers but then I tried eating and I feel like death again.

Got our spin bike though yay, for a steal too. We had pre organised via Facebook that it would cost £250, a different guy was at the workshop when we went to collect so we got it for £140 as we asked what wiggle room there was. Boom! Luckily they're local else the delivery costs would have been painful.

Mileymoocow · 24/06/2016 18:36

shelb we're having an Indians! Grin must get it ordered soon... definitely sitting with feet up, think I'm spending too long on them.

ever lovely! Where in Spain? My friend has gone to teach there near Barcelona and she's worrying terribly about her future!

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 18:39

Miley from a small village in the middle Smile
Wee place, nowhere famous Smile

PotatosMum · 24/06/2016 18:57

Pink lol, I think I would have enjoyed being escorted by two burly security guards. Unfortunately I was just walked to security and signed out by the hippy.

Miley do you want to come to my flat? I think the nesting instinct has passed me by Confused

Yes, to pudding feet. I'm slightly worried my trainers are going to explode Confused

Ever glad your midwife appointment went well.

Don't worry I didn't take what you said a rude Grin talking about things is the best way to understand other people's point of view and as long as people can happily agree to disagree no harm can come from it Smile

I would be very surprised if a points system was targeted at only allowing rich people into the country as that isn't how any other system works. It about assessing what professions are needed in the country and what professions aren't and also ensuring that immigrants have enough money to see them through a short period until they're settled and earning.
I'm not in anyway saying that immigrants aren't hard working good people as obviously the majority are and indeed I imagine if your in the teaching profession you would be granted a visa on a points system because we need more teachers.
All that being said I'm not exactly on the team that going to be designing these rules or policies so I'm only saying how I would see a system work based in other countries. I do however believe that we already have a system in place for non-EU immigrants that seems to work quite well considering how many people from outside the EU work in my office Smile

Anyway, don't worry, if we kick all the Europeans currently in the UK out, Spain and France will send all our retirees back and the government won't want that Wink

Shelb it was lazy pizza and salad for us tonight followed by strawberries and cream. Yum!

Bunch that was a bit of a bargain on the bike Smile

Finally home from work. What a bloody day. Yes to fat everything! I so hot and sweaty! Angry

I'm settling down to a fish pie, becks blue, loads of episodes of love island finished off by a salted caramel fake magnum. I've been fantasising about it all day! Mmmmmmmm

BunchOfBobs · 24/06/2016 19:24

Shelb Tea for us was toasted sourdough, torn mozzarella ball, pesto, rocket and slow roasted tomatoes. It's a really lovely meal. I had only half as much as usual and it's the most I've eaten all day. Aching already though Sad

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 19:35

Smile Potato glad we can discuss things without arguing
We will be good examples for our beans Smile

Yes, lots of Brits in Spain Grin

Because I have been stressed, I have been stuffing myself randomly and I have an upset stomach and a wee bit of heartburn Sad

What is this love island thing soda?

Evergreen17 · 24/06/2016 19:37

Oh! I got my maternity notes today from midwife and it says "keep with you at all times" surely not??!!!
Only for appointments I would think Confused

Sodasoda · 24/06/2016 19:43

Love island is difficult to explain ever. It's my guilty pleasure. Terrible but amazing tv! Grin

If I carried my maternity notes everywhere I'd need to push around a trolley!! If I'm going away overnight I take them but otherwise not. In a few weeks I'll probably think a bit more seriously about taking them with me everywhere but at the moment the thought of lugging them to work and back on the tube makes me want to cry a little bit!

PotatosMum · 24/06/2016 20:01

Ever I don't think I've ever taken my notes with me anywhere but to an appointment Confused

Currently being evil step-mother to the DSCs by not allowing them on the Xbox. I did warn them that if they didn't stop bickering no one would play on it. I don't think they know what to do with themselves but it's blissfully quiet Grin

shelbTa · 24/06/2016 20:12

Ever - I got bollocked when I rocked up to hospital last week without my notes, I'm taking them everywhere now.

Mileymoocow · 24/06/2016 21:22

potato haha I exhausted myself so I'll give it a miss thanks! Well, the step children were warned! Enjoy your peace and quiet.

bunch your tea sounds immense! Really lovely.

Watching the Oscar Pistorious interview and I'm getting myself really angry and upset! Angry
