AudreyBradshaw · 07/07/2016 21:10

nev so cute! Awww! And indi amazing, can't wait to see yours!

leoniethelioness · 07/07/2016 21:10

Cute scans!

BunchOfBobs · 07/07/2016 21:11

Wonderful news Audrey, lovely scan pic.

Aww Nev that's lovely look at that gorgeous nose!!

Co5mo I hope not for your sake, been there and hated the weekly tests.

Danni89 · 07/07/2016 22:10

Lovely scans ladies, glad everything looks ok for you both x

Nevlet · 07/07/2016 22:30

Thanks danni he is measuring at almost 34 weeks so am a bit terrified I am having a huge baby as am 31+4!

Sodasoda · 07/07/2016 22:48

Great news on scans nev and audrey!

I've come home tonight to confirmation of maternity leave dates and pay etc. Not that they had a choice! But nice to have it all in writing! Another thing making it all seem very real!

Mileymoocow · 08/07/2016 07:14

Morning all!

Brilliant scan photo audrey!!! ❤

nev that's an amazing 4D! They used to really freak me out but I'm loving them from all you ladies! So cute! Hopefully baby won't be too big, 3 weeks ahead of schedule is pretty good going though, your uterus must be super efficient. Good luck for yours today, too indi.

soda yay for confirmation. It's all the little things that make it seem so real!

Pinklily1 · 08/07/2016 08:26

Morning ladies!

Brilliant scan Nev! You must finish for mat leave soon?

So pleased your scan went well Audrey, and that you managed to stay Team Vanilla without any sneaky peaks! Did you get to see the screen at all this time? When I had both of mine the screen was angled towards the sonographer and OH. They should have another screen that we can see as well.

Soda, it's always nice to get that confirmation.

For those who have had period like pains, have they just been coming and going? I've had them yesterday morning and this morning, and yesterday morning I also felt unwell - hot and cold, light headed etc. Might be after having my blood taken on Wednesday but I've not had the period like pains since early pregnancy.

I've been awake all night feeling like I was baking alive. The hotness has really kicked in Hmm

PotatosMum · 08/07/2016 08:38

Morning ladies, how are we all today?

Lillian The GTT test wasn't that bad it's just boring, just take a book and a snack for the moment it's finished. Oh, also, sip the glucose drink, don't try to down it. I was talking to the nurse because she was surprised that I drank it slowly because lots of people try to get it over with as quickly as possible and end up feeling sick.

Audrey that's a lovely scan and I'm so happy you've had a better experience this time Smile

Nev cool 4D Smile must be exciting to be able to "see" your baby.

Co5mo glad the growth scan went well Smile you may be about to become a pin cushion but better safe than sorry.

Soda glad you got your confirmation. I'm still waiting for mine Confused must call HR!

Pink yes, my period like pains come and go. I associate them with BH but I could be wrong. Confused

I've got my health visitor coming today but luckily I'm not feeling nervous about it any more... Probably because the flat has been spotless ever since I started leave and I have practically everything the baby could possibly need, the only thing I could imagine she could think to criticise is the fact that I want to bottle feed and if she does I'll just tell her to get stuffed Grin

33 weeks tomorrow. These last 10 weeks seem to be creeping by Confused

Am at work till the end of term pink so 20 july is my last day. I can't wait my back is awful from the hard plastic classroom chairs, school is too hot and the kids have had enough they are totally switched off and disruptive!

On the plus side we have friends coming to stay for the weeknd with their 10 week old little girl... Baby cuddle time!!

BunchOfBobs · 08/07/2016 09:56

Morning all,

One of my hypnobirthing group gave birth this morning. It's her second baby and she opted for hypno after a traumatic first birth. Apparently it went perfectly and hypno worked, the baby is totally bloated out, no crying and dad can't believe the difference. I'm not ashamed to say a blubbed when I found out. So pleased for them and so looking forward to my own experience.

I have a stash of 65 preloved cloth nappies arriving today. Hmm I'll be spending my day washing and hanging them out and I'm stupidly excited.

Ooh Potato let me know how it goes and what to prepare for. Mine is being done my my midwife a week Monday. I need to know if the whole house needs to be pristine or if I can leave my sewing mess as is Grin

I made yet more lactation cookie dough up yesterday. I'm seriously addicted. I'm fast running out of freezer room- though DH ha sale easy helped by defrosting and eating one bag of flapjacks already. I may need to lock the freezer.

Pink I don't really get period pains any more but the unwell feeling I've had bouts of. Just take it easy and keep hydrated. You may be coming down with something or you could just be experiencing more pregnancy delights.

Less than 2 weeks to go Nev, I hope school cools down for you in the meantime and enjoy the baby cuddles. I'm well jelaous.

PotatosMum · 08/07/2016 12:30

Health visitor was fine. She didn't give too figs about the state of the flat (although whether it would be a different matter if it had been a mess I don't know) she gave me my red book and lots of leaflets. Then got me to give her a short family tree. She was obviously a bit worried that I don't have any family or friends in the area and recommended I join baby and toddler groups.
She asked me about my mental health and also as it cropped up that I didn't have a normal upbringing she asked me lots of questions about how OH and I wanted to bring up the baby and whether I thought my childhood would effect that and whether I thought having a child of my own would bring up bad memories but she seemed really happy with my answers.
She also asked me what my plans for the birth were and if I was worried.

It was all good stuff nothing terribly daunting. When she left she said she was actually a bit gutted as when I move I will swap to a different visitor and she would have liked to keep me Smile

Two things she did say while she was going though baby safety stuff was they recommend that you don't use bumpers, at all, even when the baby is older as they're a big SID risk, she said she doesn't even know why they sell them.
The second thing she said was that despite all the books recommending it they really discourage co-sleeping as its another big SID risk.
They only recommend you put your baby down to sleep/nap in a cot, Moses basket, pram carry cot thingie, or a baby bouncy chair thing.

Excellent news about your HV potato sounds really positive too, guessing it wouldn't be an option to request her specifically when you move due to different boroughs?

My DMs pram has arrived! (Not my pram, my Mams pram! For her and 'our baby'.) Vintage silver cross, it's a BEAST! But absolutely beautiful! My dad's already set off with ordering new wheels and chrome polish and all sorts. I love it, I'm getting the pioneer, but I'm dying to have a go now, I wasn't allowed to put the dog in it!

Canters15 · 08/07/2016 13:59

Oh nev so cute!! And audrey massive congrats! It's so weird calling you Audrey! Also check out that pram- wow! We've gone for the pioneer too, picking it up next weekend!

Glad the health visitor went well potato. All very positive.

bunch what on earth are lactation cookies?!

Co5mo · 08/07/2016 14:08

Audrey that pram is the same one that my Mum had for me except ours was navy. It's still in my Mum's attic and I'm sure it'll make a reappearance soon.

LillianFullStop · 08/07/2016 14:20

Congrats on the happy scans nev and audrey!!! I'm going to get a follow up scan to check my placenta has moved up so I can't wait to see the growth from 20w!

Thanks for the GTT advice potato - was quite anxious because I'm needle-phobic enough as it is and my sister said she threw hers up and had to have a do over for hers!!! Nice and easy does it Smile

Glad your health visit went well!

BunchOfBobs · 08/07/2016 14:26

Potato glad all went well.

Oh Audrey it's stunning!!

Canters cookies to eat to help increase
Milk production. Basically a standard cookie recipe but with Brewers yeast and flaxeed in.

PotatosMum · 08/07/2016 15:17

Audrey we're staying in the borough but the health visitor I saw today deals with town centre, I'll have to see the one who deals with the north of the town. Apparently the don't cross areas to save wasted time due to travel.

That pram is gorgeous!!!

Lillian yep, definitely sip it slowly and you'll be ok. You do need to have two lots of blood, a before and after but the after is just a little bit.

I have about an hour of peace before the children descend for the weekend. I'll be so glad when we have the house and the children have their own rooms. After a couple of years it's got a bit wearing having to live in the bedroom every other weekend... I feel like I'm back living in a share house Confused

Audrey and Cosmo, they were selling those prams a while ago in John Lewis as an anniversary thing, they were £1,250 Shock

My mum had one for me and my sister and got rid of it, I wished she'd kept it now.

Pinklily1 · 08/07/2016 16:07

So far today I've been told that I'm "some size", look ready to pop, look way over 32 weeks and that there is no way I'll go as far as my due date Shock What is wrong with people, so they not think before they speak? They may as well have come up and called me a hefalump or something Angry

I'm pretty sure I'm just average sized, as confirmed by the midwife on Wednesday.

Sorry, rant over.

AudreyBradshaw · 08/07/2016 16:15

pink and co5mo my mum, had one for me when I was born, apparently I came home from the hospital in the back of the car in it as "car seats hadn't been invented then" Grin she was having an old school silver cross come hell or high water haha. As far as I can tell it cost a small bomb, but it's made her week and the nostalgia factor alone is worth it Grin

AudreyBradshaw · 08/07/2016 16:16

pink I'm sure people don't spend enough time around pregnant women to know how big/small they are supposed to be, so they're just blooming rude about it!

PotatosMum · 08/07/2016 16:20

Pink that's so rude. Why is it that when you're pregnant it's perfectly acceptable to call you fat when it wouldn't be any other time Angry

Feeling suddenly quite sick this afternoon and I've got tummy cramps coming and going. Think I'll take a nap when the kids get here.

OP posts:
Sodasoda · 08/07/2016 18:01

pink I swear the only thing I'll ever say to a pregnant woman ever again is 'you look great'!! I'm so fed up of people thinking they have a right to make personal comments about your body because you're pregnant! I've had 'you look massive', 'your bump is really small for how far along you are' 'your boobs are huge' and my personal favourite 'ooh you've definitely spread around your hips and bum haven't you?' So rude!! Angry Right, rant over!

Great pram audrey!

Nice work on the cookies bunch

Hope you feel better and you manage to have a nap potato

It's the weekend! Hooray!! Anyone doing anything nice? We're having a big clear out so that we can actually start fitting baby stuff in the flat! I can't imagine it's going to be a challenge free weekend but it needs to be done!
