Ffs. I've been on the cusp of going to the shop to buy cookies for about 40mins now and I couldn't work out why I'd suddenly got a cookie fixation. It's bloody you lot isn't it!

I guess I'll have to take one for the team here...

Loving the batch cooking Bunch. We do loads of it anyway so I'm looking forward to emptying the freezer so I can fill it up in Sept when I finish work. We're hoping to get a big fridge freezer in by then so I'll have extra room to play with - and an excuse to buy more tupperware. Oh the exciting life I lead!

Mamas and Papas delivery came today from my little sale splurge. It's all starting to feel very real! Can't believe my due date is 3 months today.

I also have no clue what I'm doing with nappies, or how warm/cold babies need to be or how to bath them or anything really. I'm hoping I will somehow instinctively understand how to not accidentally kill her Confused

Pinklily1 · 06/07/2016 21:32

Leonie, I do employment, in the north east.

Miley, the older generation probably think we are all living in sin if we aren't married and having babies Smile OH proposed in November and we started TTC in December, by which point we'd already booked our wedding for next year, so I think a few people had expected us to wait until after we are married.

Pinklily1 · 06/07/2016 21:40

Bunch, did you buy the foil containers in a supermarket? I've looked for those in sainsburys and asda but not found them. I'm so impressed you've made puddings too!!

audrey~ welcome back and good luck tomorrow! It feels weird not calling you Starky, but we got used to Potatos name change so we'll get used to yours too.

I have nephews so have changed quite a few nappies, but never on a little girl. OH hasn't changed one and is totally freaked out by poo Hmm

Potato, the cross stitch is so good! So many talented ladies on here.

Our nursery furniture got delivered today and OH has spent all afternoon constructing it. It makes it feel very real seeing it all set up!

IndiX · 06/07/2016 21:51

Good luck for the scan tomorrow stark/Audrey, everything will be fine I'm sure. I think everyone was nervous on theirs. And yes definitely make sure you can see baby this time!

BunchOfBobs · 06/07/2016 21:57

Feefs apparently so. They just need 2 extra minutes when baking. I portion them onto baking trays, freeze for half hour then ziplock bag them.

Oh shit Audrey that must have been a scary moment. Glad your photos are safe. Enjoy tomorrow and drag that screen round if needs be!!

I have a feeling my first stretch mark is about to rear its head. I've got one area on my bump that's been super itchy for the last day or so. How did those that have them start for you?

Pink I bought them on Amazon but since found them in the poundshop. I love my crumble, couldn't not have itGrin

LisaTheSimpson · 06/07/2016 22:03

Bunch, you haven't got any stretch marks?!?

I'm so jealous! I've got a few on the right hand side of my bump that showed up a month or so ago. They looked quite angry at first...

Yes, I think they started with itchiness. But then I've also had itchiness that hasn't (yet) turned into stretch marks, so I'm not entirely sure.

Sodasoda · 06/07/2016 22:12

Hi everyone, finding it very difficult to keep up at the moment, work so busy. 1 big event next week in Cardiff and then I'm on strike to concentrate on mumsnetting!
Smile

I don't seem to have stretch marks on my belly but around my bum I do - they're kind of white, is that normal?

Another one with an appointment today (that's probably why I'm so busy at work actually - I have at least 1, usually 2 appts per week!) - a midwife check. I have to go once a week now go check BP and wee. I wee-ed all over my hand today because I can't see the bottle any more. Blush

All was fine and I'm 30 weeks today. Shit is getting REAL!

DH is out watching footy so hope he's not too gutted when he gets home.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow audrey!

And waves and love to everyone else xx

Pinklily1 · 06/07/2016 22:20

Right, I'll be off to the Pound shop then, thanks Bunch.

Re stretch marks, I haven't got any new ones from pregnancy but have them from weight loss/ gain before and they do start out itchy. My old ones, which have faded to silver/white are definitely more noticeable now my skin has stretched.

BunchOfBobs · 06/07/2016 22:25

Not from this pregnancy yet Lisa. I have some on my arse/thighs from puberty so was fully expecting them. I has. No memory of my puberty stretch marks appearing, I remember when they were angry looking but don't remember if they were itchy or anything.
I'm expecting to be marked in the morning, if not from stretch marks then from my itching. It's driving me mad!!

PotatosMum · 07/07/2016 07:29

Morning ladies, how are you all doing today?

Indi it's a shame you have to put up with this "friend" in that case but just take everything she says with s pinch of salt. As you say, she's jealous and bitter that she was unable to get pregnant and whether intentionally or not she feels the need to put you down in order to make herself feel better. That's more than a little sad.

Regarding being organised, Bunch and I are now on maternity... It makes getting fluff done considerably easier!

Audrey good luck with the scan today! If you have a useless person doing it again I'd kick off!

Irregular women raised babies without having a clue what they were doing for years before we had all the gadgets and gizmos we have today and the human race didn't end. Plus, we have YouTube and the Internet to guide us Wink
Regarding hot and cold baby, my OH assures me that if the baby is uncomfortable it will make you acutely aware of it!

Pink yay for shiny nursery furniture Grin

Bunch I have stretch marks just at the bottom of my bump. Where my old stretch marks were from being a very fat child. Every time one appeared I didn't get itching I got stretching pain.
The rest of my bump is a bit itchy but I read that's just because the stretched skin has a tendency to get dry and itchy.

Soda white stretch marks are usually old ones. New/current ones are usually an angry red.
Exciting that you're 30 weeks, only 10 to go!!

I've got another exciting day of doing the shopping and bimbling around planned, followed by more cross stitching in front of the TV. What an exciting life I lead Confused

leoniethelioness · 07/07/2016 07:47

No stretch marks yet but plenty of old ones from puberty. Not particularly bothered about getting any - they're alright when they're not red any more.

Good luck today, Audrey! Are you finding out the sex?

Mileymoocow · 07/07/2016 07:48

I haven't got any stretch marks yet but I have that skin type that's prone to them, and my mam has a lot (though she was basically pregnant for 30 months with us 3) I've been very itchy on my bump for a few days so am expecting them to appear en masse! No idea how I haven't got any on my boobs yet, and my nipples seem to have doubled in size Hmm

In the office with every windows open and the big fans on already. It's 27degrees and I can feel myself puffing up. Hope everyone has a good day

Danni89 · 07/07/2016 08:02

No stretch marks here either, apart from ones that was there before around the love handle area.

Omg it feels so real after visiting the birthing centre yesterday- it was really nice, and I'm happy about going there to labour - need to get my hospital bag started! Eeek

Btw bunch loving your prepared meals!

LisaTheSimpson · 07/07/2016 08:02

Same here Miley.

I've come into the office early to get stuff done, but it's already really muggy and hot. Not very nice.

I've bought a hand fan for commuting - might try and engineer a way to stick it on the wall!

IndiX · 07/07/2016 08:07

I also have old stretch marks from puberty, none from pregnancy yet. I've been using stretch mark cream, drinking loads of water plus putting coconut oil in my baths so I can't do much more to avoid them!

Yeah you're right potato, going to take everything she says with a massive dose of salt.

Good luck Audrey!

I have my 4D scan tomorrow, I'm so excited to see our little Beanie Grin

Sodasoda · 07/07/2016 08:09

Morning everyone, thanks potato, yes perhaps they're old marks which I hadn't really noticed before. I'm not too bothered really!

So Ovia has just said 'this week you may start to experience constipation' WTF??! 'Start to experience?!' Bitter laugh.

The labour tour made things pretty real for me too danni - eek!

With you ladies on the fans. I'm normally a pretty cold person but am massively overheating at the moment. Already dreading the tube Sad

BunchOfBobs · 07/07/2016 08:37

Morning all.

Well the itching drove me mad all night and is still going strong now. I've given myself a heat rash but no stretch marks.

I've made two batches of flapjacks this morning. I think I'm addicted to food prep Hmm

Mileymoocow · 07/07/2016 10:44

My boss's DIL had her baby this morning. She was booked in for a caeserean 3 weeks early as baby was measuring almost 8 and a half lb at her 35 week appointment. She had to have her last baby forceps delivered (almost 10lb full term) so they decided it was best to cut this one out. Baby came out weighing 7lb 10!!! Goes to show how accurate bump measurements are I guess

Mileymoocow · 07/07/2016 10:47

Sorry to hear others are suffering with the heat. I'm northern as well so it's not generally as warm here as for any southerners, so I feel for you ladies.

bunch if you're really that obsessed I can give you my address and you can go and prep for me, too! Batch cooking is a pain in my very enormous, itchy, sore tit ends

leoniethelioness · 07/07/2016 18:44

Any news, Audrey?

LillianFullStop · 07/07/2016 19:31

Hope scan went well audrey!

So after making it to 24+4 without any real cravings I want to eat everything Nutella... Nutella crepe, Nutella pizza, Nutella Nutella... anyone got a Nutella cookie recipe? lol

So my barely there bump that people raised their eyebrow at and couldn't believe how far along I was has decided to balloon the last couple of weeks! My mum did warn me that 6-7 months is when her bump decided to let it all out. Been trying to be meticulous about the stretch mark oil as I read it happens with growth spurts but we'll see. I also read it is hereditary and nothing you can do about it!

Whooping cough vaccine and GP antenatal appointment on Monday then dreading my GTT in 3 weeks fingers crossed !!!

AudreyBradshaw · 07/07/2016 19:44

Scan was amazing thanks guys! And there's definitely a baby in there! Staying vanilla but was such a lovely experience and such a difference between the 12 weeks scan and today. Brain, kidneys, heart all present correct and wonderful!

Nevlet · 07/07/2016 19:55

I can't keep up with this thread at the moment work is really tough my classroom is like a greenhouse and the kids are end of year crazy- when I get home I am just vegging out like a zombie.

Had a 4d scan yesterday it was really incredible he looks like a proper little baby!! GrinGrin

Co5mo · 07/07/2016 20:16

Yay Audrey (might eventually get used to that). It really is amazing the change between scans. I got to see baby for the fourth time today. The difference between 21, 24 and 26 weeks is still amazing.

Growth scan was fine. He's still got short legs but growth curves are fine. He's head down today so hopefully he'll stay that way now.

All good news except to GP thinks I have obstetric cholestasis despite having zero symptoms and a history of mildly raised liver function tests. Looks like I'm about to become a pin cushion for no reason.
