Thank FUCK (sorry!) it's Friday!! Just leaving the office and dashing to pub for becks blue to cheer on Wales with mad Welsh DH! Fingers crossed!

I've been rubbish at keeping up - I've just been working, sleeping and eating cake! I'm 29+2 - anyone else absolutely starving all the time?!

Congrats may, canter and ever on scans.

miley cringing at the house key situation! Could you change the locks because you 'lose' your key and then keep 'forgetting' to get your grandparents a copy cut?!

PotatosMum · 01/07/2016 19:41

Shelb yep, £70 from Amazon. Apparently OH was talking to some blokes at work and they all said it was the best thing since sliced bread. I've heard similar things and as it is the only thing he's said we really need to get I thought I'd indulge him Smile

Soda yes to always hungry... Lunch time now happened at about 10am Confused

Pinklily1 · 01/07/2016 19:51

Potato, is it the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep machine? We are going to get one of those if baby doesn't take to breastfeeding.

Nev - welcome to the world of wedding planning! Are you planning on a long engagement or do you have a date in mind already?

Shelb, yes, its all all dayer. We have two full Saturday's and then a half day breastfeeding session as well.

Indi and Feefs, sorry to hear you are in pain. The joys of pregnancy!

Canters, so pleased the consultant was nice and listened to what you wanted. Do you have to do the course then before you are 34 weeks and if it doesn't help at all, she'll give the go ahead for a section?

Soda, I'm also hungry all of the time at the minute.

Miley, the grandparents thing is tricky. You don't want to hurt their feelings but you can't be having them waltzing in all the time, so I think you need to say something, or maybe tell a little white lie and tell them you've had to get the locks changed for some reason Wink. If it's not nipped in the bud now, it'll only get worse once baby arrives.

IndiX · 01/07/2016 19:58

Canters I'm so pleased to hear it went well. I'm not really crazy on the idea of cbt if they offer it to me but at least it sounds like they are listening to you and what you want. Hopefully my appointment will go smoothly on 1st Aug!

Just watching the last few episodes of OITNB, very emotional right now! Plus my back is still agony and I've had a banging headache the whole day. One of those shitty pregnancy days I guess. I have eaten a tonne of chocolate to get me through though, every cloud...

Sorry for whingey post, hope you've had a better Friday than me

LisaTheSimpson · 01/07/2016 20:08

I'm sorry, Indi, that sounds rubbish Sad Have as much chocolate as you fancy!

Soda and Potato - yep, always hungry here, too! I try really hard not to eat unless I'm hungry, but lunch still ends up happening at 12, if not half 11 Hmm

Come on Wales!

Canters15 · 01/07/2016 21:22

Thanks all, I can't believe how much happier I feel. pink basically yes- if it works and I change my mind then great, if I still feel the same then she'll book me for a section. indi I'm not going to change my decision and I think they all know that...but I suppose it's protocol and if I have to jump through that hoop I will. Sorry you've had a crappy day!

leoniethelioness · 01/07/2016 21:47

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaales!!! ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

LisaTheSimpson · 01/07/2016 21:50

Well done Wales! AMAZING!!!!!!!

English over here, but so so so pleased for them, and rooting for Wales all the way to the final! FootballStarFootballStarFootballStarFootballStarFootballStarFootball

IndiX · 01/07/2016 21:52

Thanks Lisa and canters just got in to bed, still feeling shitty but hopefully tomorrow is a better day.
So canters, how long or how many nct sessions do you have to go to? The thing is I'm not scared about labour or actually giving birth it's just I know my body and I know I will tear badly as my mum did. I'd rather save myself the pain and the stitches, I wonder if they will offer me the nct too. But yeah I agree, if I have to go then I will. So glad that you feel better and you can feel positive about it now.

Sodasoda · 02/07/2016 00:59

Just getting to bed now! Didn't have the heart to drag my drunk, Welsh ecstatic DH away from the pub much earlier! It's mad!

Congrats on the engagement nev lovely news!

Sorry if I've missed lots of other news, promise to try to be a better thread person! Smile

shelbTa · 02/07/2016 06:45

Morning ladies

Great match Wales, well deserved!

What I'd give for being able to sleep in past 5 these last few weeks!

Indi - keep an eye on the backache, I'm a worrier so probably just normal but could be sign of uti etc.

X

Planeteer · 02/07/2016 07:48

Morning all, sorry for having been so quiet and rubbish! Have been trying to keep up and thinking of you all.

Massive congrats Nev, really happy for you and what an adorable way to ask. Hope you enjoy the wedding planning madness (I ruddy love a good wedding chat - look forward to hearing about your plans!)

Canters I'm so glad the consultant was able to put your mind at rest somewhat, really hope you're able to relax into the rest of pregnancy without the fear hanging over you.

Indi really hope you feel better today ChocolateFlowers

I'm having a v anxious few days, which is annoying. Hormones are acting up and I pushed myself far too hard at work this week, organising and running a social event for the whole office on top of normal workload. Was on my feet running around like a mad thing, and then ate something that disagreed with me so have been feeling v sore and sorry for myself. Pancake decided to have a v quiet evening yday as well, and is still not as wriggly as she has been. Trying to be calm and just keep an eye on kicks but can't help fretting.

Urgh, sorry for the long whinge! Will have a word with myself!

Hope you've all got nice weekend plans. What are you all up to?

Canters15 · 02/07/2016 10:38

Have finally read back- massive congrats nev!!

indi, I'm not sure how many sessions it will be. Cbt is normally a fairly short term intervention so would imagine somewhere around 6, maybe? I don't mind going, I'm also quite anxious about breast feeding in public so im hoping I can get something out of it.

Are you feeling any better today planet?

IndiX · 02/07/2016 11:50

Oh that's good canters hopefully it'll be helpful for you.
Planet I hope you've felt more movement now, try the ice water test or something sugary. Have you finished the extra work now? Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend planned.

Thanks ladies, feel brighter in myself today but my back is still painful and I stupidly went to the gym this morning and did a circuits class. I was doing fine until there were sprints at the end and I got into 'pre pregnancy competitive mode'..so now I am wincing at my back pain in a warm bath. I don't expect sympathy, it's completely my own fault Blush
Think we are going to buy our car seat today, we have the iCandy peach pram, any other iCandy ladies recommend what car seat they chose?
Also has any one bought a baby bath yet? I think I really need to have a look at my list and start cracking on with the baby shopping!

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 12:00

Bah
I am hating the first trimester
Cried yesterday before my driving lesson. Got mad at OH
Got mad at OH again today as I really wanted crisps and he was out but came back with nada as he had no money on him and he didnt even text to say

So I cried and I said he doesnt understand me or acknowledge I am pregnant Sad

Is this normal!? I am 7+3
To cry because I want crisps and I cant get them (really cry)

I am so tired

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/07/2016 14:47

Hope you're feeling better soon indi Flowers

ever welcome to hormone land! It gets worse! Grin first trimester is boring and long, you can't tell everyone, you can buy exciting things, the 12 week scan feels like a lifetime away. And yourr dh doesn't get the stress and worry at all! But, I can tell you, I felt exactly the same, and it gets easier! I'm now, at 19+3 daring to start look at baby stuff, and plan and think about prams etc! With the hopes of going full steam aged after the 20 week scan on Thursday. Flowers

PotatosMum · 02/07/2016 14:52

I was about to say morning but then realised it isn't anymore Blush I've been having another morning bimbling around a garden centreSmile

Pink yes, the machine we've got is the perfect prep. Everyone seems to speak really highly of it so I'm hoping it's really good Smile

sorry you've been in pain Indi. Is it any better today?

Planet sorry you've been feeling anxious and hormonal. Maybe you need to slow down a little, let others arrange the social events for a bit.

Indi we didn't buy a baby bath, we got a baby seat for in the bath instead as most reviews I read said baby baths were just a waste of space. I think it's the Angel care one I got... In blue because it was nicer than the pink Wink

Lol Ever yes food related crying is definitely normal. You do not get in the way of a pregnant lady and her food Wink the hormones should calm down though once you're in T2 and ramp up again in T3 but it's still not advisable to mess with your food! Grin

So, 32 weeks today and apparently Potato is an armadillo. OH and I had a walk to the new house and I just can't get over how nice the area is. I can't wait to move!
We also had a chat about Potato and how we feel about her arriving next month. We both said the same thing, we're finding it hard to get our heads around the fact that we are going to have an actual baby, so we're not excited or happy or worried or anything. Obviously we want Potato and are looking forward to her being born but it's just a bit surreal and I don't think either of us will get our heads around it until she's here.

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 02/07/2016 17:13

potato we're pretty much feeling exactly the same, too. I'm utterly chuffed to pieces I'm pregnant but still haven't managed to turn that thought into having an actual real life baby!! It just seems so weird.

Can we talk braxton hicks? I'm 26 weeks today and have just had 2 horrendous bouts of what felt like severe period pains about 15 mins apart. Is this what it feels like? Is there a possibility I could be subjected to this torture intermittently until baby is here? If so, I am not long for this world! The pain was awful.

Feefeefs · 02/07/2016 17:16

That Wales match was fantastic!!

Glad you're feeling better canters I think CBT teaches you a lot of useful tools even if you decide to still go for caesarean I'm sure the CBT will not be a waste!

Hope you get a rest this weekend planteer!

I think it's the tiredness ever! Be kind to yourself! I cried throughout a driving lesson at about 10 weeks! Poor man.

I've had a nice relaxing day so far, got my hair and eyebrows done and had a wander!

Pinklily1 · 02/07/2016 17:58

Planet, hope you re feeling better. How is baby's movement today?

Indi, this might be a bit late as yo've probably already been out looking at the car seats, but we've bought the Peach as well, and have gone for the Be Safe car seat (they stock it in Mothercare and John Lewis). It was a toss up between that and the Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus, but we liked the extra padding options that you get with the Be Safe.

We've had our first NCT class today. It was 10am - 4pm, so a long session and I feel a bit drained! I was a bit worried this morning as it was all a bit airy fairy, but it improved this afternoon and all of the couples who were there seemed lovely, so hopefully it'll lead to some more mummy friends. The only new thing I learnt was that a ventouse is not like a toilet plunger, which is that I thought it would look like!!

Can't believe its your 20 week scan soon Starky! Are you going to find out the sex if you can?

Potato, i think we feel the same way about baby arriving too - it still feels very surreal.

Miley, i've not had Braxton Hicks yet (I don't think). The NCT instructor today said if you have them, your tummy goes very hard for however long they last for, and that you can experience them on and off until labour start.

PotatosMum · 02/07/2016 18:29

Miley/Pink I'm glad we're not the only ones feeling this way, I honestly think some of my friends and family are more excited than us Confused

That sounds the same as the BH I've had. They make me double up sometimes but apparently if you change position or the activity you're doing they should stop. I don't get them very regularly maybe three or four a week.

So, I've just discovered that I can't cook stir fry Confused I made it, it looked lovely, OH and I took a couple of bites and pronounced it inedible Blush might have to make something else later as we ended up eating nothing but a couple of spring rolls and a bowl of prawn crackers!
OH is off out tonight with work friends so he may be home at 10pm or he could be home at 4am, it's hard to tell. I'm planning a nice evening in with the TV and my cross stitch Grin

Sodasoda · 02/07/2016 18:30

Another one here who registers being pregnant but really haven't got head round an actual real life baby being here!

pink interesting to hear about your NCT. I'm also doing long day classes. My first one isn't until the beginning of August thought - I'll be 34 weeks then, does that seem a bit late?

miley / pink - don't think I've had any BH either. Although baby has given me a few rather vicious kicks the last couple of days as well as the usual squirming!

Pinklily1 · 02/07/2016 18:35

Soda, 34 weeks sounds fine. I am 31 +4, due on 30 August, and the due dates in my class today ranged from 12 August - 7 September.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 02/07/2016 18:56

pink we're staying vanilla, I've got dh convinced. Mainly because at my 12 week scan I may aswell not have been there for all the interaction I had. The screen was in front of my head so I couldn't see a thing other than a quick 5 second flash "there's your baby's heartbeat" and that was that she turned the screen away and then she just took measurements etc, but showed dh brain, arms, legs, ribs etc while I was craning my neck trying and failing to get a peep. So I don't want a repeat and to run the risk of finding out what we're having off some random person who didn't involve me (if that makes sense). I'd rather wait and find out myself/have dh tell me when it's born.

Evergreen17 · 02/07/2016 19:19

Starky I want to be normal ConfusedConfused I told OH he had to go and read his book to understand that I meed my cravings and he did Smile
Potato thanks for the food tip. I am being taken to the shops soon as for some reason I want crisps (unsatisfied from this morning craving) and tomato soup
I never eat tomato soup Hmm
I want T2 to begin. I sleep and complain, sleep and complain.
Brilliant stuff about your new area SmileSmileSmile
Feefs luckily my driving instructor is lovely but yes I always come to her grumpy these days
