Morning all,

Planet they say to call your midwife for any change in movement, that counts for speeding up too. Always worth being safe.

I'm with you on the hippo Potato. I feel huge. When I'm sat on the birthing ball now with my legs apart my bump touches the ball . It's so heavy. It was difficult enough moving around with the hip fun but the sheer weight of me is also becoming a chore now.

I have the osteopath today, fx for some improvement of my hips.

Mileymoocow · 30/06/2016 07:33

planet I'm not entirely sure! I'm sure everything is okay though. I'll have a quick Google

Feefeefs · 30/06/2016 08:00

Ugh I've started waking up every morning at 4:30am awake for an hour or so then fall back asleep 30 mins before alarm! Burst!

Sorry can't help planet! Hope everything's fine

Evergreen17 · 30/06/2016 08:07

Miley whatttt??? Did you punch her Hmm

Leonie I am so very sorry to hear this SadFlowersFlowers it seems that lots of people are at risk, so sorry your DH is one SadSadSad

Ok so newbie here has a confession BlushBlush I didnt know this was rude and I have been commenting on the girl from office next door's bump Blush I mean she didnt have one and then it started to grow really quickly and I commented on how much bigger it was (well I said pointier rather than big) I didnt know this was rude I didnt say fat and she had been telling me about the position and stuff

I know better now BlushBlush

I am 7+1 (although I know I ovulated 3 days late) and on my way to my scan to see if there is a heart beat

OMG wish me luck ConfusedConfusedConfused

Evergreen17 · 30/06/2016 08:09

May look at that baby!!!! Smile so happy for you!

IndiX · 30/06/2016 08:24

Morning ladies,

Planet has baby calmed down now? I'm sure everything will be fine but maybe call your midwife if you're worried.

Oh Miley sorry you're tired, constipated and have possible thrush! Not the best start to the morning for youSad
I think a maxi dress will look lovely. I feel weird about my bump atm I want people to see I'm pregnant and not just fat but then I don't want to look mumsy or too pregnant. I'm obviously a bit messed up in the head Confused

Ever I think as long as you don't use the words 'big' or 'massive' or anything along those lines you'll be fine. I'm sure your colleague hasn't taken any offence to a pointy bump. Good luck for your scan!!

shelbTa · 30/06/2016 08:32

Morning ladies

Planet - I'm not sure, my bubs stared doing that at one stage, maybe call them? Or maybe he / shes getting just a bit more active?

Feef - here ya, I wake up early, it's ridic.

Miley - I've started taking yakult to help with the constipation, really works.

Leonie - that's rough about your Oh, I feel for you both.

Still got cold. Feel like shit. Potato - wel jel of your mat leave!

X

Pinklily1 · 30/06/2016 08:38

Morning ladies

Planet, are you ok? I'd call the midwife just to get her advice.

Sorry to hear about the poo and thrush issues Miley. I force fed myself prunes on holiday and they worked a treat. Tasted disgusting but by the end of the week I was used to them! Worth a try maybe?

For those who have packed their hospital bags, how many sleep suits etc did you pack for baby? I'm fine with stuff for myself but I'm prone to overpacking so I just want to get a feel for what others are doing in terms of amounts of baby clothes. Hoping to only be in one night.

I went back to the gym for the first time post holiday today and could really feel the difference in my energy levels, they have definitely gone down Sad

Bunch, is your birthing ball a proper birthing ball or just a gym ball? Hope your appointment today goes well and they can help.

Evergreen17 · 30/06/2016 08:40

A 9 mm bean with a strong heart beat SmileGrinSmile

BunchOfBobs · 30/06/2016 08:51

Pink I was told to take 3 outfits for baby. So 3 vests and 3 sleep suits. I therefore have packed 5. 2 in one size , 2 in another and the going home outfit.
If everything goes to plan and timings work out I can be in as little as 3 hours HmmShock so I'll be way overpacked. But I've packed incase I need to go to hospital and stay in a couple of days.
Mines a gym ball, but still anti burst, that's the only thing you need to make sure it has.

Congrats ever!

Planeteer · 30/06/2016 09:18

Thanks all. She seems to have settled down now, so will keep an eye and see what sort of a pattern develops. Tried calling midwives but NONE of the numbers on my maternity notes work. The helpline is permanently closed, and the number I've got for the community MW gets me a horribly rude woman who says 'what do you expect me to do? This is an admin office'. When I explained none of the other numbers worked she huffed and puffed and suggested I ring labour ward 'if really necessary.' Feel a bit cut off now, know this issue is very very unlikely to be anything serious, but hate not knowing where to turn for advice! Angry

Ever yay for bean's strong heartbeat! Congrats.

Miley am with you in no-poo-land. It is rubbish. Might try Shelb's Yakult plan before turning to the prunes as they're just so vile!

PotatosMum · 30/06/2016 09:51

Planet I get periods where it feels like Potato is having a tantrum and throwing herself about. She's absolutely fine so I assume it's normal.
Have you eaten anything really sugary recently? That sometimes sets Potato off.

Can't believe you're struggling so much to get through to anyone and I'd be really cross at the rudeness. Definitely call the labour ward if you're worried though. They will be much more helpful and sympathetic and if they can't help they should be able to put you in contact with someone who can.

Miley OH no, sounds like your nether regions are in a bit of a state. I hope it gets better soon.
I go through cycles of not being able to poop for three or four days then doing nothing but poop for a day... Rinse and repeat Hmm

Bunch hope it's good news on the hips... I second the effort of moving around the sheer weight of bump. I feel about 90 when I'm waddling around or trying to stand up Sad

Ever woohoo! So happy your little bean is fine, I bet you're so relieved Smile
Don't worry about commenting on someone's bump. I honestly think that it only occurs to people once it's happened to them.

Shelb I'm loving maternity leave now. The flats never been tidier, there's always food in the cupboard, I'm not exhausted all the time and if I want a lie in I can have one she says typing from bed Grin
I'm making the most of it until Potato makes an appearance and spoils my fun Confused

Pink I've packed 3 sleep suits, 4 body suits (the ones without legs), 2 hats, a blanket and the stuffed hedgehog/dinosaur I bought her Smile oh, and a couple of muslins too... I only packed myself a couple of nighties, pants and a dress to come home in Hmm

Evergreen17 · 30/06/2016 09:54

Behing with posts because my app didnt work for over a day

Feefs I grind my teeth too
I have slept with a retainer for 17 years now!!!! It does help I think, or my teeth would me tiny now!

Happy birthday Starky! SmileSmile 30 rocks (I seem to remember Hmm)
How many weeks are you starky? I have been wondering when I will start to show as I am getting married in August Smile

Planeteer can you check on Kicks Count? A charity that has info on counting kicks and monitoring and stuff

Evergreen17 · 30/06/2016 09:56

Thanks Potato Smile

Mileymoocow · 30/06/2016 10:22

ever yay that you have a content little bean! Bet you feel relieved.

indi I'm pretty sure pregnancy completely fucks our heads up cause that's exactly how I feel Hmm I'd be quite happy to hibernate until I'm a size 8 again.

shelb and prunes thanks for the poo tips. I've had an actimel every morning with 5 dried apricots and have stopped so wonder if that's why my pooper is remaining firmly shut. Planet sorry to hear you're suffering too.

pink I haven't packed yet, but will probably be taking a going home outfit, several body suits and a couple of muslins/bibs etc. Hospital is only 15 mons from home so if I have to stay in longer then OH can pop back and get more. How many nappies are people packing?

Feefeefs · 30/06/2016 10:28

Miserable isn't it shelbta.

Yay ever!! Hope that puts your mind at rest a bit.

Glad you're enjoying maternity leave potatoes

PotatosMum · 30/06/2016 11:47

Miley I'm packing half dozen nappies and 6 ready made bottles... Does that sound like enough, I've got room for more but don't want to look like a nutter... That being said I also don't want to run out.

It's sooooo confusing!

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 30/06/2016 12:06

potato I'd imagine that would be enough! They use (on average) 10 nappies a day don't they? I might take 10 and probably end up over packing. Is anyone else who is breastfeeding feeding taking bottles just in case? I never even gave it a thought! But breastfeeding isn't always easy to establish.

shelbTa · 30/06/2016 12:11

Lovely scan ever!!

Ok, I'm about to show the depth of my lack of knowledge but - potato, how do you do the ready made bottles?! I thought they had to be made up just before giving them?

X

IndiX · 30/06/2016 12:30

I've obviously been burying my head in the sand regarding hospital/baby bags, I have no idea what I'm taking or what I need. I may need one of you ladies to write a list at some point Confused

Ever congrats on the healthy little bean!

So I think I've just had my first semi-rude comment at 25+1. Just seen a girl at my gym and she said 'oooh size of you'..it was either that or 'look at you' but I'm pretty sure the word size was used. I'm not even that bumpy either...well I didn't think I was. Tbf she hasn't seen me for a couple of months so I probably do seem a lot bigger. Guess this is the start of the comments then Hmm

Mileymoocow · 30/06/2016 12:36

indi sorry you've had to experience the ignorance of someone today. It's pretty tough, the fort commend about your size. Chin up though, some people love to feed themselves on making others miserable.

My cousin had her baby beginning of Feb, I've asked her to put a realistic list together for me as she had a natural birth and breastfeeds so I figure I'd need pretty much the same. She said they tell you to take far more than you need! I will pass it on to you ladies once she has sent it.

Mileymoocow · 30/06/2016 12:37

Ok that was supposed to say 'when someone comments on your size'. No idea what happened!

PotatosMum · 30/06/2016 13:34

Miley I'd recommend getting some of the pre-made bottles (you can find them in the supermarket next to the formula) just in case as these don't need making or sterilising and can be fed at room temperature. I was told this is pretty useful while you're in hospital and I know a few people who intended to breast feed who needed to augment while the go started.

Shelb you buy the ready made bottles, they're sealed and come with sealed sterilised teats. They're quite expensive but I asked on here a while ago what I should take to the hospital for bottle feeding and so many people told me how brilliant they are for hospital/emergency that I thought I'd better get some. They also last for ages so any left over will be handy for car journeys etc. When making a bottle might be a pain.

Indi just ignore stupid people and their size comments.

I think most people, books and magazines go over the top with the list of things you "need". One of my friends had her little girl last year and she said she took practically nothing and was kicked out of the hospital pretty quickly. I'm going down the rout of hoping Potato is born and we're discharged within a couple of hours which if it's a normal natural birth should be realistic. If not, running home to get stuff is what men are for Wink

Have accidentally done nothing today. I'll have to make amends for my laziness tomorrow!

Just popping in to wave and say I'm here! I just can't keep up at the moment!

Work is so horrible and insane (I work for the government) I just don't have time for anything else at the moment. Fed up and can't believe I have another 2 months til maternity leave! Angry

Anyway, sorry about the me post! Hope everyone else is doing well xx

Evergreen17 · 30/06/2016 17:44
