Ah that's crap potato, after all your cleaning too, can you reschedule? Food - I'm hanging out for Yorkshire pudding with stew in it at the moment - nice and light for summer!

Pain wise - Im open to anything but want to try and avoid an epidural as don't really like the thought of someone messing with my spine.

X

leoniethelioness · 27/06/2016 20:21

Oh, England...

shelbTa · 27/06/2016 20:23

Painful...

Pinklily1 · 27/06/2016 20:25

Yep Miley, £10,000! I think that's what the insurance policy covered up to for a c section.

Our aim is a water birth with gas and air at most, as I want to have baby in a midwife led unit and be in and out of hospital asap, but I'm trying to stay open minded about other options. Saying that, I want to avoid a c section if at all possible as if my platelet levels continue to drop, I may have to have a general anaesthetic for that, or for a forceps or ventouse assisted birth, and that would be my worst nightmare - being asleep when your baby is born and OH not being allowed in the room, so neither of you get to see baby arrive. I also don't want an epidural as I've heard hideous things about post epidural headaches, and the idea of a massive needle in my spine horrifies me Shock. So maybe i'm not being as open minded as I want to be - we'll just have to see how it all goes when the time comes, and what is best for me and for baby. As long as she comes out safely, that will be the main thing.

I know Bunch mentioned a home birth. Is anyone considering one?

Potato, that's really annoying - the estate agent should have made that clear!

Pinklily1 · 27/06/2016 20:26

And for food Potato, we've just had Hairy Bikers bangers and mash, and tomorrow we are having paella, if that's any inspiration!

Sodasoda · 27/06/2016 23:56

Thanks leonie. I've got ages left - don't finish until 2nd September when I'll be 38+2! Shock But once these 3 weeks are over then work should quieten down.

I don't really have a birth plan. I'm kind of in denial! But I'll just hope for the best. I'd really prefer not to have a c section as slower recovery time and you can't drive / lift etc and I'd really struggle as don't have any family support close by. But as long as me and baby are ok then whatever happens happens! Hope your appointment go well canters and indi and you get the result you want.

It's so late! I went out to watch the footy (argh!) and then had to watch game of thrones as otherwise there would have been spoilers!

leoniethelioness · 28/06/2016 06:42

We had Jamie Oliver's chicken and leek stroganoff last night without the white wine...

Probably salmon fillet tonight (quick and easy) or if I'm back early enough, I can start on Mary Berry's lamb dhansak.

BunchOfBobs · 28/06/2016 07:08

Morning all,

Re meal inspiration last night we had poached smoked haddock, asparagus, poached egg and mash. Tonight we're off out for a swish meal as its out 2nd wedding anniversary, then tomorrow it's Jamie Oliver recipe for ham orzo. It's yummy!

leoniethelioness · 28/06/2016 07:16

Happy anniversary, Bunch! 💜💛💚💙

PotatosMum · 28/06/2016 07:30

Morning ladies Smile

Soda don't talk about GOT, OH and I aren't watching it until tonight!

Bunch happy anniversary FlowersChocolate

Thanks for all the food suggestions. OH still can't decide what he wants so I might have to just get a variety of frozen options as we don't cook on Wednesdays or Thursday's and I don't want food to go to waste.

You could get some cupboard basics in ready to cobble something together - tuna, chopped tomatoes, pesto, etc.

We watched GoT last night. I could barely watch last week's episode as it was so gory so I was glad this one wasn't like that.

Feefeefs · 28/06/2016 08:02

Happy anniversary bunch!

Have the midwife today not really sure what she does at 16 weeks?

I'm happy to go with the flow re birth plan, there can be negative long term complications With c-sections also urinary incontinence is common and bowel issues. Any of my doctor friends usually say if you can go for vaginal with an epidural

Sodasoda · 28/06/2016 08:03

Don't worry potato no spoilers here! Although I will say that it was a longer episode than normal so really regretting staying up past midnight watching it - very tired today!

You lot are putting me to shame with your cooking! I'm really not very adventurous!

Happy anniversary bunch! Where are you off to on your posh meal?

shelbTa · 28/06/2016 08:04

Morning all

Good luck today feef!

Happy anniversary bunch!

Guna be a long day ladies.

X

BunchOfBobs · 28/06/2016 08:18

Thanks all Smile
We're off to a local Michelin starred restaurant having a 7 course taster menu. They've been pre warned of my preggo self so I'm sure I'll miss all the fun stuff but will hopefully have good alternatives.

ElleSarcasmo · 28/06/2016 08:27

Thanks Danni, we might wait for the NCT sale before we finish buying everything. Assuming we can wait that long!

Feefs at mine the midwife checked my BP and urine and had a quick feel of my tummy. She did listen with a Doppler but some of you said their midwife didn't. We talked about how things were going and transferring my care (I've moved since first pregnant). Not much happened really.

I wanted a c-section for years as I was traumatised by my obs and gynae attachment Blush however, my sister has had both and she definitely recovered quicker from the natural births, so I'll be trying for that first. I'd like a water birth too. I'm tying to channel Bunch and think whatever will be, will be.

Happy anniversary Bunch!

ElleSarcasmo · 28/06/2016 08:28

Potato I think I'll go for oven baked salmon fillet with broccoli tonight-easy and healthy followed by a magnum

PotatosMum · 28/06/2016 08:45

Feef most midwife appointments from now on will be the same, blood pressure, poke tummy, depending on which authority you're in measure and Doppler. Ask if you're ok and feeling and movement, kick you out the door as quickly as possible Confused

Soda I'm not adventurous with the cooking either. OH doesn't like fish unless it comes battered in newspaper and I have a long standing inability to make anything stew like... I don't know why but it just never works for me. We mostly eat meat and two veg, pasta and Mexican. not at the same time lol

Right, need to fill up my day with stuff to do... I'm trying not to get into the habit of being lazy and sitting around doing nothing while I'm on leave... That being said the first order of the day is the great British sewing bee Grin

Happy anniversary bunch!!! GrinFlowers enjoy your fancy meal.

Good luck with appointment feefs, just to echo others - a general chit chat, ask if you've had movement, take your blood pressure and check your urine. We had a listen to baby but not everywhere does that! I have my 25 week appointment today, too. I expect it'll be pretty much the same.

I like to cook good old fashioned dishes so I love a cottage pie/lasagne/mince and dumplings/anything stodgy but I try to cook meat and veg as often as possible to keep it healthy. man child OH is a picky shit and isn't fond of foods with funny textures so I sometimes cook stuff he claims he doesn't like and ask him to try it. He generally finds that he does actually like it, now eats just about all seafood! Hmm told him I refuse to have a picky baby so he is to eat what is put in front of him unless it's a genuine dislike!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 28/06/2016 09:46

Happy anniversary bunch going out for tea too because it's my birthday! I'm 30! 🎉🎊🎀 which feels bonkers! Think me and my dm are going for a look at prams!

I'm the fussy one, Dh will eat anything, and everything! But only accepts it's a proper meal of there's half a spit roast buffalo going, if you know what I mean! But we buy meat in 10kg tubs! Spag bol, slow cooker stews/roasts (Deffo reccomend getting a slow cooker potato ) oven roast veg and those Maggi bags.

Mileymoocow · 28/06/2016 11:46

Happy 30th starky!!!! 🎈🎁🎂🎉

So I seem to have developed an ache in my left shoulder and elbow joints. What the actual hell? My movement has been minimal so I can only assume it's another lush pregnancy symptom.

LisaTheSimpson · 28/06/2016 12:36

Happy anniversary Bunch! Hope the Michelin star meal is lovely and can't wait to hear all about it (very jealous!) Flowers Flowers

Happy 30th Birthday Stark! What a lovely milestone! I hope you're being truly and utterly spoiled by everyone! Star Star Star Star Star

LisaTheSimpson · 28/06/2016 12:37

Thanks Feef. What's TMJ?

I have no idea if I grind my teeth or not. How do you know if you do?

Mileymoocow · 28/06/2016 13:47

Well its taken til 25+3 for my first rude, unwelcome comment. Apparently I have a lot of baby weight on my arse! Which I already know, and do not need some 55 year old woman that I work with to point out Angry

Sodasoda · 28/06/2016 18:37

miley congratulations on getting that far without someone saying something rude! Seems to be almost a daily occurrence for me nowadays.

Have a fab meal bunch, I love a tasting menu!

Happy birthday starky!
