Miley glad to hear all is well Smile I think anything within 2 weeks of where you should be is considered normal, anything out side of this and they send you for a growth scan just to check.

Is anyone else really freaking out about losing the belly fat "apron" after baby? I've always had one as I was a very overweight child thanks for that parentsHmm but I just looked in the mirror and I'm terrified that one I've had the baby it will be much more of an overhang and it's practically impossible to get rid of without surgery. Sad
I don't mind doing lots of exercise and dieting once baby is here as I know that will reduce it but it won't get rid of it and I'm suddenly feeling the negative body image vibes coming on... I actually just looked up the cost of a tummy tuck but the recovery and possible complications scared the hell out of me Blush

Hi ladies

Got back from holiday last night and there is so much to catch up on! We had a lovely time, so relaxing. I didn't get asked for my doctors note on the way out, but had to show it on check in at the airport on the way home, so despite the stress of getting it, it was definitely worthwhile.

Miley - so glad to hear everything is ok. I'm with Potato - I think if you are measuring with 2 weeks either side of where you should be, its ok, and otherwise they send you for a growth scan. I also think the growth thing should be taken with a pinch of salt - one of my friends was advised to have a csection as baby was expected to be over 10lbs (and friend is tiny). She had the csection and baby came out bang on 8 lbs!

Also, Dubai is apparently very good for buying diamonds Miley! I'd say that's a fair gift in the circumstances Grin Wink

Planet - hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Shelb, sorry to hear the pain is worse. Did the hospital give any indication as to whether baby's head being engaged now meant a likely early birth or not?

Feefs, i can definitely see a bump!

Shelb, was it you whose sickness returned recently? For the past three days, I've felt sick again in the mornings, and a bit dizzy. I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow. Really hope its not MS rearing its ugly head again.

Bunch - had you narrowed it down to two names and then another option has come up? We're a bit like that - keep thinking of new possible middle names - there are so many options!

Ever, I take my maternity notes away if we are going on any long journey's, but I don't carry them with me on a daily basis. I probably will as it gets nearer my due date.

Hope everyone else is well.

Pinklily1 · 27/06/2016 14:11

Yikes, longest post in history - sorry!!

shelbTa · 27/06/2016 14:37

Pink your holiday sounds ace! Yeah 'twas me who had the MS. Only way is to eat through it I've found, leading me onto potato....

.....yeah potato I'm worried about the apron too. I know I've put a fair bit of weight on (26lbs so far) so not sure what the damage will be once baby is out. Maybe we'll have a diet / exercise slant to our thread post baby! Orrrrrrrr......maybe not!

Pinklily1 · 27/06/2016 15:01

I've tried to munch little and often today Shelb, which seems to be helping.

I will definitely be exercising once i've had my 6 week check up - I've got to fit into a wedding dress, which I'm starting to panic a bit about!! Hmm

BunchOfBobs · 27/06/2016 15:05

Shelb as of today I've put on 41lbs (18.6kg)!!Shock I put on 0.7kg since yesterday it's shocking!
I'm trying not to think about it potato I'm really looking forward to getting back to exercising though.

Miley, Lisa I'm mostly used to the noise of it now but the random crunching/frinding sensation I get every now and then is quite sickening. The pain is my daily life but it only rarely gets me down and usually I've done something I shouldn't which makes it much worse for that day. So I deserve it really Wink

Exactly Pink but we've done it over and over. We had two boys and girls names decided on until we found out we were team blue. Then we started hunting for more names- why???!! Since then we had two we were happy with, then added more, swapped one, and now an old name has come back into the mix and variations of it.
So currently we have 4 options. I only want 2 to choose between when we meet him but hey ho.

IndiX · 27/06/2016 15:14

Miley so glad you're ok.

IndiX · 27/06/2016 15:19

Posted too early.

Just back from my 24 weeks midwife appt ( I'm nearly 25w though), everything fine with me and Beanie. Measurements are good I was told but she didn't give me a specific number, I want to know now. Also been referred to a consultant on 1st August about a possible elective cesearean, the midwife remembered I had mention a c section and went ahead and made the appointment. I'm so glad it was straightforward, I thought I may have to convince her.
Just done a load of housework and washing and now my back is killing me, going to put my feet up for an hour and watch last night's Love Island.

Pink your holiday sounds lovely, glad it was a good relaxing break for you.
*
Potato* hope you're enjoying your first Monday off workGrin

shelbTa · 27/06/2016 15:59

Indi - just wondering about your section, have you just chosen to have it or is there a medical reason? I'm clueless!

Bunch - sounds like you're growing a solid little lad in there! Well I'd def be up for motivating / getting motivation with others for getting fit again post preggo.

PotatosMum · 27/06/2016 16:05

Pink welcome back, glad you enjoyed your holiday Smile

Shelb I think I'll definitely need a diet/exercise routine ASAP once Potato's evicted. I think chocolate, sweets and I will need to part ways for a long time!

Pink I'm hoping I'll need to get into a wedding dress next year too... Just need to get OH to pull his socks up and propose properly now he's free and single Wink

Bunch I'll be very surprised if I'm not right there with you in the weight gain department (if not a little more) but I packed my scales ages ago because it was just too depressing!!!

So, today I've cleaned and hoovered the flat top to bottom, changed the bedding, done several loads of washing and scrubbed the bathroom. Shattered now but happy that everything is looking nice and clean. I had to throw out 5 bags of rubbish Blush I also went through all my paperwork and filed it.
Day one of being all domestic seems to have been a success... Wonder how long it will last Wink

Shelb I'm about 80% I want an elective c section. I think I've said it before but I'm pretty fragile down there and even going the toilet makes me bleed sometimes. Sex can make me swollen and sore for a couple of days and I just can't imagine a head/shoulders coming out of that area. I just know I'm going to tear and my mum had a massive tear when she had me, resulting in a reconstruction of her whole vagina and bum hole so that's on my mind. Going to speak to the consultant but I'm pretty sure I want the c section tbh.

I forgot to say before, I've got pretty bad cramps/ period pains. I think it might just be Beanie stretching everything down there but the midwife said 'to keep an eye on it' and it's worried me more. Anyone else feel like this? I feel it in my back and lower tummy mostly.

Canters15 · 27/06/2016 17:00

indi- I have a consultant appointment on Friday to discuss elective section, i'll let you know how it goes/how much you have to argue! I'm convinced its the right decision for me, if I can't have one on the NHS I will be going private.

Whoever said Dubai and diamonds - yes! I got my wedding ring there- half eternity half a carat of diamonds- we paid about £280 for it. Its beautiful! Same thing would be easily over £1000 here.

Having a lovely time in Greece. Got badly sunburnt on the first day (damn sensitive preg skin) on my chest. Struggled a bit with some of the food but the relaxation has been priceless. Having a pregnancy facial and massage tomorrow then home on weds. I want to stay!

shelbTa · 27/06/2016 17:25

Blush don't blame you indi! Omg I had NO idea you could request an elective. They keep that quiet don't they...

IndiX · 27/06/2016 17:33

Shelb yeah it's weird how they don't offer them as an option from the first appt, they just assume everyone wants a natural birth. It also annoys me how they don't talk much about epidurals.
I think it makes women embarassed or like they've not done a 'proper job' when they elect or go for an epidural.

Canters good luck with the appt, I really hope they just tell you the risks and then give you the choice. I don't want to have to go to see the consultant and put on a performance of how badly I want one, I just want to be able to make the decision about my own body.

Pinklily1 · 27/06/2016 18:02

I wonder if the reason they don't advertise c sections is something to do with the cost of them? I'm not sure how much they cost the NHS but I know a friend had one privately (covered by insurance), and it was around £10,000. I'm guessing the NHS keep quiet about it being an option as a natural birth would be far cheaper for them! Its not right though, we should be told what ALL available options are so that we can consider them.

Canters, glad you are having fun. I also got sunburnt, and since I got home I've started peeling and my skin is super itchy. Make sure you lather on the sun cream and then the after sun! I feel like I need to get into a bath of bio oil!

Weird question, but is anyone else's bump mainly from the belly button up? My bump seems to have grown a lot this week and above my belly button the skin is tight and I can feel there isn't a great deal of room left, but below the belly button there isn't really much stretching going on Confused.

Feefeefs · 27/06/2016 18:33

Glad things went well miley hope you're feeling better.

I've had ear pain too Lisa but have TMJ and think I'm just grinding my teeth more? Do you grind?

leoniethelioness · 27/06/2016 18:46

Miley I was 24 cm at my 25 week appointment. My midwife was happy with that and said it was fine. I was exactly 25 weeks then. Glad all went well at the hospital. My little one is being awkward too but feeling some pressure and pops. I just want to feel more!

Mileymoocow · 27/06/2016 18:49

pink £10,000?!?! That is ridiculous! I definitely agree they should outline every single option. I personally couldn't consider a c section unless absolutely necessary because I'm an absolute wuss when it comes to the epidural/knife/injection situation but absolutely nothing to do with me not feeling like I've done it properly Hmm if I wasn't such a dandy I'd defs rather have a little scar than a mangled vag but my mind doesn't see it that way! Hope you get what you want indi and canters

Mileymoocow · 27/06/2016 18:50

leonie maybe we're just going to have petite babas! Grin

leoniethelioness · 27/06/2016 18:50

Glad you are getting your birth options sorted. I dread the thought of a c-section. It makes me feel panicky and stressed. I'm hoping for a water birth or, failing that, an active birth. Part of me would quite like a home birth but I'm nervous as it's our first.

Sodasoda · 27/06/2016 18:55

Glad everything is well miley. I wouldn't worry too much re size, I think it changes so much. At my 20 week scan everything was pretty much 50th percentile except the belly which was 80! At my 28 week scan last week everything was around 50 except the head which was 80. Definitely hope that measurement will change! If they were really concerned they'd book you in for regular growth scans.

Work is so busy at the moment, just leaving office and feeling fed up!

Waves to everyone

BunchOfBobs · 27/06/2016 18:58

I'm open to anything happening with the birth, if I need a c section then so be it but my perfect birth would be a water birth, it's what we're aiming for. I wanted a home birth but then realised you have to do all the clean up etc and need a good enough boiler to handle the constant need for hot water, we don't and certainly can't be doing with the clean up afterwards, and the dog would be a PITA.

I'm aiming for completely natural, no pain relief and water birth at my local MLU but what will be will be.

I never had MS at the beginning but I've been having nausea on and off the last few days. Nothing to stop me eating or anything but just a feeling of queasiness. Just this touch I have makes me feel in awe of you ladies who suffered badly with MS and HG.

Pip currently has some epic hiccups.

leoniethelioness · 27/06/2016 19:21

Hope things get better at work, Soda. How many weeks do you have left?

PotatosMum · 27/06/2016 19:53

Indi, Canters good luck requesting your c sections. I hope they don't give you any trouble about it but the fact you've got to the consultant stage sounds promising.

Canters glad you're having a lovely time on your holls, I hope the sunburn isn't too bad.

I'm not fussed how the baby comes out as long as it's quick! Wink originally I wanted a section but I don't want the longer recovery time so I'm hoping to be able to do it the old fashioned way. I'm also hoping to be able to do it with just gas and air. If the way I handled fibroid pain is anything to go by this should be fine. I hope!

So, after spending the whole day cleaning I get a call from the estate agent at 5 asking why I'm not in, err... Because I'm not supposed to be Hmm turns out the gut who booked for the buyers to come round neglected to mention that he expected me to be there to show them round where as I expected the estate agent to do it. Poor buyers are probably a bit miffed, I know I am.

I need help, suggest what I can get for dinner tomorrow! I have nothing in the house but I'm rubbish at deciding what to buy and OH never knows what he wants to eat until about 5 minutes before he eats it Confused
