Happy birthday for tomorrow Astro! What your DH did was utterly unforgivable though, LTB Wink

I've found that's Fox's glacier mints help me when I'm feeling sick. I've been buying bags and bags of them. I'll never want to see one again when this is all over.

Kittykitty05 · 23/06/2016 14:44

astro where do you get chewy vitamin d from?

hels18 · 23/06/2016 15:23

Happy birthday for tomorrow Astro!

Magpie fruit sherbets are helping me disguise the metal taste in my mouth :)

hels18 · 23/06/2016 15:26

I got the date for my 12 week scan earlier - it's on my birthday!! I'll be 13.5 weeks by then so hopefully will be very clear to see baby!

Signoritawhocansway · 23/06/2016 17:43

Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Astro. Hello to the even newer Newbies - I'll re - update the stats post again when I have the energy. Because that's what I'm lacking. I feel like I have no motivation/energy/enthusiasm for anything at all currently. I would describe it a 'surviving' - I'm just hoping I'm not slipping back down my little black slide.

I'm struggling with nausea today - thankfully it's not been too bad overall. The other problem I have (which it seems to early for) is like reflux/constant acidy feeling in my gullet. Is it too early for that? Any remedies?

Just waiting and waiting - seems like an age 'til my scan on 19th July. Then I have consultant appointment for the day after at the 'pre-term prevention clinic'. Go me! It says in the letter there's a possibility I'll have to have a TV scan - but I'm hoping as I've got my dating scan the day before that it won't be necessary! Unless they want to check out stuff like my cervix...would they do that with a TV scan?

Anyway - hugs to all of you feeling rough and tired. I'm of the opinion that the 'not telling it until scan' lark is not necessarily a good thing. I've just had to tell some people. I'm keeping a list of who I've told and it's getting longer every week!

Astro86 · 23/06/2016 18:39

kitty I get these from Boots, they're a bit more expensive but at least they stay down!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, in going to 'enjoy' the last night of my 20s with an early night...I know how to party!

Signorita surviving is a good description, I've got little energy or enthusiasm for anything!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 23/06/2016 18:47

I'm with you all on the incessant nausea and tiredness. I've developed a love for plain digestives instead of ginger biscuits and they're pretty great. Apart from that it seems to change daily (apart from haribo).

Is anyone else experiencing massive headaches? I can't work out if it's my eyes or I'm dehydrated or what but I have a headache every day and it's starting to make me worry about preeclampsia.

Signorita I think heartburn/acid reflux is relatively common even from the early days and I had it pretty badly in about week 6 or so. Gaviscon tablets and plenty of water helped mine a lot. And I've had to tell people as I've been so ill I'm worried they're all thinking I'm just slacking at work!

CarrotVan · 23/06/2016 19:10

Signorita - I think cervix checks would have to be a tv scan. After 8-9 weeks they're normally fine to do an abdo scan for checking the uterus as long as you have a full bladder.

In terms of nausea I think you're either a mint person or a ginger person. There's limited cross over.

CarrotVan · 23/06/2016 19:12

Rosie - Ive had a couple of nasty tension headaches partly caused by poor sleep

JustANumber · 23/06/2016 21:20

Thankyou! My DS was 2 weeks early so if this baby is the same i'll have an interesting christmas!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 23/06/2016 22:49

Carrot you are awesome, I've been trying for days to think of the phrase 'tension headache' to describe it Grin Sorry to hear you have them as well, I think mine are also likely due to poor sleep.

MagpieCursedTea · 23/06/2016 23:17

JustANumber my DS was also a couple of weeks early. Hoping to go for a bit longer this time!

OP posts:
hopingandwaiting · 24/06/2016 13:47

Got my dating scan letter, booked for 15th July which seems an age away but in reality is not at all. Seems like everything feels longer when you're pregnant - except night time sleeps! I'll be 12+2 for the scan. I've been lucky with no actual sickness, but the nausea seems to be getting more persistent and isn't being subdued by eating like it was. Thankfully it held off for my 30th last weekend - I'm just hoping it stays away this weekend whilst I'm on a school trip with 40 children!! Sickness bands at the ready!!

JustANumber · 24/06/2016 14:42

hoping Seabands are amazing i bought some a few weeks ago when the nausea became overwhelming. They are fab! Now I'm almost 12 weeks its subsiding thank god. Just heart burn and SPD to come now haha! Grin

Bex134 · 25/06/2016 07:56

Hi all
I've been reading this post for a while but not posted before, I'm 10+5 EDD 16th Jan with first pregnancy so all this is very new to me. I've found since start of this week my nausea has pretty much gone which I thought would be great but it's making me worry. Still got achy boobs and tiredness. Anyone else had this?

Hels I found pregnacare pregnancy vitamins made me feel really sick the next day so changed onto seven seas which are loads better.

Got my scan at 13weeks can't wait!

MagpieCursedTea · 25/06/2016 09:07

Welcome Bex! I think as the placenta takes off the nausea can start to ease off. No such luck for me yet!

I'm 12 weeks today! Feels like such an awesome milestone. I've told a few friends since my scan last week but looking forward to telling more people if all goes well at the repeat scan on Thursday.

OP posts:
willoughbywolf · 25/06/2016 09:09

Hi Bex, I'm 10+4 and exactly the same. Horrible nausea and sickness bordering on HG until a couple of days ago when it started to lift. I'm still very fussy with foods (very irritating as I usually eat everything) but feeling almost normal except for the extreme tiredness.

I'm not too worried because I have these other symptoms and I still get sick if I let myself go too long between snacks (my appetite is tiny at the moment so I'm eating a few mouthfuls here and there rather than full meals) and yes, my boobs are tender. I also changed supplements recently - or rather, dropped the iron tablets and kept the folic - so thought that might have something to do with it.

Off to Boots today to get myself some of those chewy vitamin d drops so here's hoping they don't trigger a relapse!

ZylaB · 25/06/2016 12:52

Hi, please take me off of the list. I commented on Facebook page but not on here, lost my baby a few weeks ago now. Good luck all!

Signoritawhocansway · 25/06/2016 18:35

ZylaB, I'm so sorry for your loss, and also that I hadn't managed to work out who you were on facebook - I didn't cross reference I'm afraid, as it was already quite a lot of work getting the list together. I hope I haven't reopened a wound for you. So many apologies, and good wishes for you if and when you try again Flowers

Whatabanana · 25/06/2016 20:41

I am just over eleven weeks and started bleeding today, such a shock as I felt quite safe having made it this far. The hospital doesn't want to see me unless it gets heavier/more painful. My scan isn't until Thursday, I only work very very part time but worried about going in if still bleeding Monday?

MagpieCursedTea · 25/06/2016 21:50

ZylaB so sorry, hope you're keeping well!

Whatabanana I guess it's a good sign if the hospital doesn't want to see you. Doesn't make it any less stressful for you though. In your position I would possibly stay off work as I'm not sure I'd be able to concentrate on anything. Although if you've got supportive colleagues, the distraction might be helpful. Nothing wrong with staying home if you don't feel up to it though! How's the bleeding now?

OP posts:
Whatabanana · 25/06/2016 22:05

Hi, it is not pouring out but it's definitely not going away either, I feel like it could well be the beginning of a miscarriage. Is there a point ringing the hospital again? I don't know how heavy they need the bleeding to be. Or if they would do anything anyway?
