Hello! Can I be added please? I'm 9 weeks today with no 2 due 23rd January. No1 is a girl 20 months.

Turnertime14 · 20/06/2016 21:16

It better be the magic 12 weeks! I'm so tired of being so tired!!

Astro86 · 20/06/2016 23:08

Hello to the new names and those that have popped back from FB to say hi! I'm putting off joining the FB group till after my scan next week, just want to wait till it's all that bit more real and certain, I find this MN thread like a little safe haven!

Hope everyone is doing ok, I'm around 11wks now and the nausea is a baiting a bit, but it still crept up on me at 16 weeks last time (still blame the X5 Oxford to Camb coach for that though!) so I'm not counting on anything just yet.

DH is away till Thursday night, then off again Sun till Tues, hormones are making me really pathetic and weepy! Not that I don't usually miss him, I always do but tears are new!

I gave in today and got out the maternity jeans... They're a bit too big still but much more comfortable than my normal ones (currently regretting my love of high waist jeans!) and I'm too small to just wear sized up normal clothes. Thankfully DH has pointed out that the majority of my maternity clothes are packed away at my ILs, so they can bring them when they visit in a couple of weeks. There are a couple of dresses that I can't wait to wear again actually, and dungarees!

twinkydink · 21/06/2016 07:40

Hi ladies, I dropped into the old thread but exhaustion and work stress has meant I have just been lurking!!

Am 10 +4 and finally caved and called in sick today. I have no energy and I just wanted to cry when I got out of bed this morning. Then to top it all off the nausea kicked in!!! Just going to spend the day sleeping!

Hope everyone is doing well? Sorry to those who are struggling with sickness I know mine is pretty light in comparison.

So ready for my scan now. Just need to see this little bean!! 13 days to go!

CarrotVan · 21/06/2016 10:32

I had my third scan of this pregnancy yesterday (9 wks in now!). All ok, growing fine and heart beating away nicely.

Today is the community midwife to get a referral for booking in and my 12 wk scan.

Tabitha78 · 21/06/2016 10:51

That's great news Carrot!

swancourt · 21/06/2016 11:04

tinyhuman don't worry at all about when you told people - it's your body and it's your choice. I know what you mean - I told my DDs when I was pregnant earlier this year, and they told every bloody person in the world (teachers, random mums at the school gate, etc) and then I told the childminder who point blank refused to discuss it with me until 12 weeks (and then I miscarried, so I felt like she was proved right). So now I'm visibly pregnant and not telling anybody, but everybody knows I miscarried and am trying for a baby, so blatantly everybody knows I'm pregnant now and just not telling them! It's a bit of a minefield, but like I said - your body, your baby, totally your decision when to tell people. Nobody will be judging you, and if they are, they're nutters Grin

willoughbywolf · 21/06/2016 11:47

tinyhuman I'm sorry you're going through a hard time. It's completely up to you when you tell people and I think, when morning sickness is severe, making your work colleagues aware of the issue is much more sensible than suffering in silence. I had to do the same with my first pregnancy and there was no judgement -- and it offered me a little cover from the ridiculous mistakes I made in my sickly haze. Honestly when I looked back on some of the work I did in that first trimester it might have been a drunk baboon sitting at my desk, bashing the keyboard... and I worked in the legal profession Blush

I have also struggled with depression and weaned myself off Sertraline last year; it's an unpleasant process and I really feel for you.

A few people have mentioned to me that vitamin B12 can be enormously helpful in treating depression. I believe it's also a good supplement to take in pregnancy (don't take my word for it though - best to do some research of your own) so that might be a good option to ease your symptoms whilst you're feeling so rough?

Hope your morning sickness passes in the next couple of weeks. Mine disappeared on the morning of my 12 week scan with DS so I live in hope!

I've been struggling to keep up with this thread, as tiredness has hit with vengeance in the last week. I feel so wiped out, and I'm sleeping all the time...its ridiculous.

I know being 8+3, this is a period of fast development for the baby, so I don't actually mind, that all my energy seems to be going into that...I just wish it wouldn't affect my ability to get other stuff done. Hmm

hope everyone is doing okay and not suffering as much as me, with this tiredness.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 21/06/2016 12:33

Hi everyone, I dropped off the old thread early on (despite starting it) as things just started to get a bit crap and I wasn't in the right headspace to be online.
I'm in a bit of a better place now so I thought I'd tentatively rejoin you all Smile
I haven't read back through the old thread but hopefully I'll catch up soon! Lovely to see so many people on here now Smile

SunCrusHH · 21/06/2016 17:25

Hi all! I'm hoping for the magic 12 weeks! I'm only 9 + 3 haha! So tired. My personal trainer has given me a pregnancy friendly workout but I'm just so tired. The sun is shining tonight though so off home to hit the gym. Cries. I will be a fit mummy to be haha

Tabitha78 · 21/06/2016 19:37

Clementine I'm 8+3 and exactly the same! We were climbing a big hill on holiday today and I had to stop half way up and nap on the grass! That's after two nights of ten hours sleep and two naps yesterday!

SunCrusHH · 21/06/2016 21:17

I hear ya! I have taken more naps in the last 9 weeks then I have ever done in my life!! I'm hoping for that day I wake up and feel great.... It must be soon !!

clementineclouds · 21/06/2016 23:53

hi tabitha, so glad its not just me with the tiredness...I'm getting so much sleep at night, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. hope your tiredness eases soon.

MagpieCursedTea · 22/06/2016 09:47

I'm another sleepy one. I'd really forgotten how hard I find pregnancy. Both physically and mentally.

hels18 · 22/06/2016 10:23

The tiredness.. I really didn't expect the exhaustion to be so bad! I am having to pee 2-3 times in the night and then I struggle to get back to sleep. Finding myself napping everywhere.. even closed my eyes in the work bathroom the other day which could have been dangerous!

My colleague is 14 weeks says she has got her normal energy levels back and is even hitting the gym again.. so envious!

Jodie1982 · 22/06/2016 12:54

Really struggling with smells. 😷
I usually like DPS scent but now I don't.

Another strange thing for me is that I've totally gone off intercourse, and any other affection. I just want to be left alone. Can't even be bothered to have a conversation either, this is baby no.6 and have never felt do bad. Maybe it's just tiredness 😕

swancourt · 22/06/2016 21:57

I'm just sick, tired and nauseous. All the time. I walk around retching. I hate food. Feeling pissed off with the world today - I'm at least 12+1 and I don't know why the sickness has got so much worse this week.

Workinzzz · 23/06/2016 07:51

Anyone else an emotional wreck? I literally stop crying because of one thing and then another happens, Ireland winning last night had me crying both last night and this morning. The sit in in US congress has had me crying this morning. I've never recovered from having my first, after her I cried at the drop of a hat, now I'm worse!!

MagpieCursedTea · 23/06/2016 07:57

I'm also an emotional wreck. Crying over silly things, getting irritated by the smallest things. Fun!

Is anyone else considering prenatal yoga? Apparently you can start from 12 weeks onwards. Am also researching Active Birthing. I had a somewhat traumatic Labour with DS (left without pain medication until I was almost fully dilated as the other poor women in triage were experiencing complications - DS was back to back and it was bloody agony!) so I've basically started planning for this one as if I'm going to give birth in the wild Grin

swancourt not sure if this will make you feel better but with DS my morning sickness got progressively worse until just after 12 weeks and one morning I woke up and felt perfectly fine. So there is hope!

MagpieCursedTea · 23/06/2016 08:10

I'm hoping to do prenatal yoga this time around. I'm going to wait until the nausea shifts a bit and then book onto something.
I've thought about looking up some videos and trying it at home but don't want to injure myself!

Tabitha78 · 23/06/2016 08:38

I started prenatal pilates last week, they were happy to start before 12 weeks. Using the reformer machines which is new to me, but good to be working my hips and glutes as I was starting to seize up!

Booking in appointment for me today...

hels18 · 23/06/2016 12:25

I think I have finally worked out what I am able to stomach - fruit smoothies! This is really all I can & want to eat at the moment, along with juicy pineapple, plain smooth soups and soft pasta dishes like vegetable lasagna or macaroni cheese. Nothing too flavourful or chewy! It is so unlike me to be off my food, but glad I have finally found something to eat. I usually eat a good diet full of veggies and fish, so feeling sad that I can't eat my favourites at the moment.

Does anyone know if the folic acid could affect sickness and the stomach? I didn't take it last night as fell asleep very early without eating, and have woken feeling ok, and not nauseous. Maybe its just luck and I'm reading into it too much!

Is anyone else sick of the advice they are already receiving!? If someone else suggests eating a ginger biscuit or mug of ginger tea I will be so mad!!

Astro86 · 23/06/2016 14:26

hels I'm with you on the ginger biscuits, all very well till you puke them back up. I'm embracing rich tea this time ( and the cheap ginger beer from Tesco does seem to help, maybe because it's ginger and liquid?!).

I've not had an issue with the folic acid but I find with most vitamins I feel sick (iron tablets being the worst!). I'm currently sticking to chewy vitamin D and take liquid iron if I need to.

I'm getting a bit of the tears now too, it's my birthday tomorrow so I took cake to Guides last night and o nearly cried when they all sang to me! Better than last time when I sobbed out of anger because DH took a bite out of my ice lolly...
