Sure! Had a little boy, was 6lb 3oz which I was pleased with as he was born at 35 plus 6.

My waters broke on 20th so went into hospital for monitoring. I think they were hoping for labour to start and it did a couple of times over the next two days but by 22nd they were keen to get him out so started induction drip.

Was 4cm by then so my contractions had done something.

I opted for an epidural at that point as had heard the induction drip can make contractions more intense and was already worn out from a couple of days in hospital.

Started pushing around 10.45 and he was born at 00.45 on 23rd. We stayed in a couple of days as he needed antibiotics mainly because my waters broke early but also as he was a bit early.

So pleased that we could take him home for Christmas. He's back up to birth weight today so am pleased about that.

Wonder who will be next?! Exciting times getting so close for everyone now!

Vixxfacee · 03/01/2017 00:18

What a great weight for nearly 36 weeks!
Thank you for sharing. Brilliant Christmas present :)

hopingandwaiting · 03/01/2017 07:59

Wow! Were you all prepared?

Definitely pleased I got my hospital bag packed up yesterday then - I keep thinking 'nah, he won't be this early' (due 22nd) but he really could be!

Glad he was a good healthy weight and you only had to stay in for a couple of days.

Imstickingwiththisone · 03/01/2017 20:53

Congratulations Pippa. Hope you and the little one are well and settled at home. Flowers

PippaRose · 03/01/2017 21:55

Wasn't really prepared and had to pack bag that morning but luckily we live close to hospital so DH could easily go home and get me things.

Looking forward to hearing others stories when the time comes!

SunCrusHH · 04/01/2017 23:29

Hello everyone!! 38+1 and officially full term! Cmon baby, get out!!

Vixxfacee · 05/01/2017 06:05

I had my little boy this morning at 12.05. I was exactly 37 weeks.

I woke up 6am yesterday morning with a slight gush, changed knickers and had loads of fluid. Didnt get to triage until 12 with no contractions so they wanted to induce me at 6am (today). I started getting contractions but they didn't even check me until I was crying and writhing around in pain at 10. I was 5cm. I had pethidine and gas and air and was in labour for 2 hours and 8mins to push. No tears! Baby is 6lb8 and doing well.

hopingandwaiting · 05/01/2017 07:36

Congratulations vixx!!

PippaRose · 05/01/2017 08:26

Congratulations! Another boy

RachaelMary04 · 05/01/2017 20:04

Aww congratulations! Smile I'm due in just over 3 weeks so just started packing a hospital bag.. but I feel I'm packing way too much!! It's my first so I don't actually know what I'll need..! What did you guys pack?

PippaRose · 06/01/2017 10:18

For me I packed change of clothes, wash bag, lots of underwear, maternity pads, nightdresses, slippers, kindle, make up and phone charger.

Would have liked flip flops for shower.

For baby packed a nappy bag with nappies, baby clothes and cotton wool etc, actually needed more of these bits as we ended up staying in a few days, my husband took stuff home and brought new stuff in for us. Also our baby was small so had to get some new smaller bits for him

hopingandwaiting · 06/01/2017 11:11

Rachael Mine seems pretty full too, but I used a list I got from antenatal classes and decided what I would need from there. I have an overspill bag to stay in the car for any extras I might need (more pads, underwear, nappies etc)

Vixxfacee · 06/01/2017 12:07

Thank you!
For the baby I packed 3 sleep suits, 3 vests, Cardigan, a blanket, hat and mittens. 8 nappies, water wipes and cotton wool.
For myself I went over board with toiletries. But 2 night dresses, maternity knickers, pads, 2 bras, dressing gown and slippers (water proof ones for the shower). Also had some old tshirts and leggings.

Try to get the bag packed asap as I had to do mine on the way to the hospital. I never thought he would be early!

RachaelMary04 · 06/01/2017 13:04

All sounds pretty similar to what I've packed.. just seems like so much! I think I may do two bags so I don't have to take it all in at once! Thanks Smile

hopingandwaiting · 06/01/2017 14:11

I have 6 vests and sleepsuits for the baby coz that was what was on the list. Couple of hats, socks & mitts and a blanket and teddy. Old nightie (for labour) and feeding nightie and pj's, plus a pair of leggings and couple of t-shirts, slippers and dressing gown for me. Tesco is around the corner from our hospital so I'll be fine if I need anything I think.

Vaunz · 07/01/2017 23:22

KimberleyAnn · 08/01/2017 02:05

I was due 9 January but little one arrived 4 January at 4.26am weighing 9lb 6! So lovely to see the bubbas starting to arrive. It still feels abit of a blur even though it's baby number 2. Such an exciting time for everyone! Smile

manhowdy · 10/01/2017 13:27

So lovely to read about all your arrivals. I am 39+1 today have been crampy for the last 24 hours or so. Feel like I am about to start a heavy period.

I haven't actually packed my hospital bag yet. It's on my to-do list this afternoon but there's every chance i'll climb into bed for a nap instead....Grin

Keep the birth stories coming pls!

hopingandwaiting · 10/01/2017 13:32

Sounds to me like you may need to get your bag packed pretty pronto manhowdy!!

KimberleyAnn · 12/01/2017 09:09

Manhowdy - I had period cramps on the weekend before! Fingers crossed it's a sign. Xx

manhowdy · 12/01/2017 11:07

I hope so! Though they have eased off now (and I still haven't done my hospital bag Blush)

KimberleyAnn · 12/01/2017 12:28

Get packing! ❤️

Mumchatting · 12/01/2017 16:43

Congrats to all new mamas.
39+2 today and no signs of the baby apart from some very mild cramps from time to time.. I'm really hoping for a spontaneous natural birth this time. Anyone else trying for vbac too?

RachaelMary04 · 12/01/2017 20:36

I'm 37+4 today and I'm finding I'm getting more and stinger braxton hicks contractions, it makes my husband worry each time!

manhowdy · 13/01/2017 16:07

Bag packed! Desperately uncomfortable now. Pretty sure I am in very sloooooow latent labour after waking up at 2am with pains. Haven't told DP yet though as I don't want to get him all excited in case it stops again. Off for a cuppa, some paracetamol and a bounce on my ball......
