A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

flying keeping my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on today.

friendly my sister had IVF so it doesn't exactly run on my side! My husband has twins in his family though

evergreen if you aren't already do yoga or excercise gin can't recommend it enough. Both really help with managing the stress and anxiety of early pregnancy.

Masweetpea1 · 23/06/2016 09:53

Good luck today flying.

I've had some Brown blood when i wipe this morning, no cramps though. So a little worried, am 6+3 today.

Actually seeing the midwife anyway in a few minutes so going to ask her. Hoping they might send me for a scan...... Then I'd know either way. Fingers crossed.

Scarydinosaurs · 23/06/2016 10:10

Are there any other keen exercises here? I have done the t25 in the past, stopped since going back to work and now determined to get back into shape this summer.

Rather than leap back into the t25 (ouch) I'm going to try the 7 minute work outs on YouTube plus a cool down each day. Any tips for exercising when pregnant? I've always stopped before, but would rather keep doing exercise (even if only light exercise) this time round.

Kellz92 · 23/06/2016 10:12

Button I got Carpel Tunnel with DD and its already flaring up again :(

Carrie Hiya and congrats! sorry you have had a rough time!

Lonfon You never know it could be twins!! Im more bloated this time! my tummy looks different too, but im already quite big so hoping people just think im gaining weight even though hubby says it looks bump like. i dont quite believe that but it feels bump like lol

Ready im a big drinker too when i go out

Sky + Dreaming Im not veggie but i have really been wanting fish too

Honeybeez Hey and congratulations

Evergreen honey try think positive, stress isnt good for you and baby. Hope you and DP are okay now!!

Scary You could have twins!!

Flying I have everything crossed for you today. Dont stress about that test, i have heard lots of negative things about them once youre a good few weeks along!

Radders Hey and congratulations. Time is definitely standing still :(

Spin either call your midwife or epu! get checked out

Ma I had it too but best to get checked

Well think thats me caught up again. Yesterday was the first day i had no brown spotting in two weeks so im happy, and i also slept a bit better without wakening up every half hour. Still shattered. DD away on her first school trip with preschool so very emotional today, and also no sickness yet and im very hungry lol. might eat before sickness kicks in xx

Kellz92 · 23/06/2016 10:13

im also looking for exercises i can do when pregnant to stop getting even bigger x

Dreamingoutloud7 · 23/06/2016 10:28

spin I would give a call and ask, that's what they are there for after all

ma hope your mw appt goes well

scary I did yoga a few times a week, haven't done it this week though as every weird movement makes me feel queasy, definitely want to carry it on when I feel a bit more stable though

kellz glad your sleeping better, this tiredness is incredible!

My sleep is all messed up, I keep waking up around 5am, completely wide awake, then I get absolutely exhausted by 2pm, doesn't matter if I nap, don't nap, exhaust myself, whatever, nothing will let me sleep past 5am Sad

H007 · 23/06/2016 10:32

Thinking of you flying hoping for good news for you!

Scarydinosaurs · 23/06/2016 10:38

spin based on that I would call.

dreaming did you go to a class? I am hoping there will be pregnancy classes in the studio that is opening in my town.

kellz I can really recommend the 7 minute work out videos on YouTube! Short and easy!

Readytosettle · 23/06/2016 10:47

I did Pilates right up until about 36 wks last time. The instructor was great at adapting the exercises for me as we went through the class, in the end it all just got too much but I like to think it helped me maintain my core strength and flexibility & keep me mobile. I also swam lots.

KimmyRox80 · 23/06/2016 10:47

Thinking of you Flying Flowers

Dreaming sounds just like my sleep too! I'm exhausted!! 5+6 today.

Now have a MW appointment booked for when I'm 10 weeks. She asked me about screening when I have my scan. Hadn't actually thought about it before. I'm really not sure whether or not to have them as I know regardless of the outcome what my decision would be. What is everyone else doing/thoughts? Confused

CeeCeeEnnEss · 23/06/2016 10:53

Hope you're OK flying. And evergreen your hormones are all over the place at the moment (mine too - I've been cross with my very lovely DH at least 5 times a day in the past week when he normally only makes me cross twice a day), so give yourself some slack. We're here for you.

scary I worked out 4x a week pre pregnancy (spinning, aerobics, general gym) and I haven't really stopped but I am taking it easier as I find I'm more breathless and dizzy. Told one PT because he wanted me to lift heavy weights but not told anyone else.

carrie105 · 23/06/2016 11:03

Thinking of you flying.

I managed body pump classes up to week 38 with DS. I have heard squatting is a great pelvic floor exercise, which of course you do tonnes of in body pump. I had an episiotomy during labour and I haven't had an pelvic floor issues since (touch wood) so there may be something in it!

HighHopes16 · 23/06/2016 11:20

I keep checking back for your update Flying

I'm really nervous about my scan tomorrow morning - symptom spotting like crazy but whatever will be, will be I suppose!

Scarydinosaurs · 23/06/2016 11:43

carrie that's awesome! Do you do one class a week?

ceecee that's very hardcore. I haven't worked out like that since pre children. Even the t25 I only managed in school holidays and when last on mat leave.

kimmy with my last DD they spotted potential problems at the 20 week scan that indicated possible trisonomy problems. Using the information from the 12 week scan enabled the doctors to be able to judge the risks. The reasons why we will find out is because it is much more complicated than just downs/healthy- and if there are going to be known genetic problems, knowing before the birth will mean that you will recieve medical intervention ASAP at the birth to help the baby's chance of survival (if you find out there are abnormalities and decide to continue with the pregnancy).

ready that sounds positive! I will call and ask if they can adapt their classes.

Readytosettle · 23/06/2016 11:52

Carrie I'm a body pumper too but wasn't last pg. hope I can keep going for a bit but not sure I'll still be doing it at 38wks!!!

Hopeful83 · 23/06/2016 12:04

Thinking of you Flying

Masweetpea1 I had bleeding (most brown apart from one red episode) off and on from weeks 6-13 with my daughter and all was fine although it was very stressful. I had 3 scans at the EPU so it's worth seeing if your dr or midwife can refer you as I found them reassuring

FriendlyGhost · 23/06/2016 12:33

Hope you're ok flying
scary I was a keen runner pre dd but gave up when pregnant as I felt so ill. I haven't really got back to it but fully intend to one day.
After all my worrying that I felt OK, I feel awful today. The headache is still here and my whole body aches with tiredness. Feeling a bit sick and dizzy and want to eat but don't fancy anything except dairylea triangles.
Kimmy I'm definitely going to get the screening done. I'd want to be prepared for any outcome and as scary says it's important for the medical staff to know what they're dealing with in advance if there are any problems. I would love to pay for the harmony or similar but DH says it's too expensive.

Kellz92 · 23/06/2016 12:44

Dreaming Im struggling with the tiredness!!

Scary Thanks i will give them a go! Hoping it gives me more energy too

Kimmy Ill be getting the screening done, did last time too, just to be prepared more than anything

Carrie I love BodyPump, infact i love a lot of Les Mills classes! at my last job i used to go 3 lunchtimes a week but my new job is 20 miles away from the gym and i cant find it up here, can go in evening as DH is working and i have DD so was gutted, might try back after this baby is born

Friendly I used to run but stopped after i got my gallbladder out in Oct/Nov and only been out a few times since, just couldnt get back into it,. Dont think id manage now as ill get really dizzy and sick!

I definitely will need to try my hardest in losing the baby weight after baby is here, with DD i lost 3 stone until i stopped exercising in October and just lost my motivation and gained 2 back!! was hoping id keep it off for the pregnancy but oh well! will do it next year

xx

KimmyRox80 · 23/06/2016 12:48

Thanks Scary Friendly & Kellz that's really helpful. I hadn't considered medical intervention once the baby is born. I think I'll be going ahead with the screening Smile

Kellz92 · 23/06/2016 12:50

Kimmy Glad to help :)

Scarydinosaurs · 23/06/2016 12:54

kimmy really pleased to have helped!

Masweetpea1 · 23/06/2016 12:58

Mw said i had to call epu. Epu said it's probably implantation bleeding and to leave it a few days. Fingers crossed.

I have my 8 wk scan week on Saturday anyway. Xx

Jojoclaire · 23/06/2016 13:13

kellz carrie friendly good for you guys! The talk of body pump and running is making me feel a bit depressed. I've just spent the last hour lying on the floor in the dark shower room at work unable to move a muscle!

Head is pounding, am hungry and sick at the same time and sense of smell is ridiculous, I can smell cigarette smoke from half a mile away!

Really hoping this settles down in a week or so, but gave told boss so that's a bit of a relief. She said she'd cover for me if I have to run to the loo!

Speaking of screening, something came up on Ovia app today about CVS - chorionic villus screening - is that what you're talking about or something different? It sounds quite full on, an anaesthetic? But a good idea if it's offered.

Hazandduck · 23/06/2016 13:22

I used to work out 3 times a week either running or doing 30 day shred with Gillian Michaels (I love her!) but have stopped completely since I found out about baby as am so scared of doing something wrong to hurt baby. Do you think I should throw caution to the wind and just keep exercising? I've had a lot of breathlessness so am a bit wary of pushing it too much. Also has anyone got one of those Doppler things? I won one on eBay and am wondering when to start trying to listen!! I'm such a worrier I thought it may put my mind at ease, but it could make it worse if I can't find baby's heartbeat 😥

Masweetpea1 · 23/06/2016 13:28

jojo, don't worry not everyone is exercising! I've just had a lovely beige lunch...... Fish fingers and potato wedges with lashings of mayonnaise!! Not the healthiest lunch but glad i managed something to eat Smile
Now where's the chocolate Wink
