A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

Congrats to the newbies. Sympathies on the exhaustion from me too, although today it's not been so bad as usual which almost worries me (can't win!). Nausea's been a bigger challenge. I'm excited about my booking appointment tomorrow, I've never made that milestone before so feels like a big deal. 7 + 5 today.

GinandJazzHands · 21/06/2016 22:42

Hey! Felt a bit nauseus for the first time after lunch in work today - felt like a bloodhound - every little smell was setting me off but then it passed as soon as it had arrived. Only five weeks so wondering how lucky or unlucky I might be with it. Feeling tired but also aware from everyone's posts that maybe the worst is definitely still to come! Look after yourselves ladies. Due to start a new job (same company, different team) at the start of August and think I'll pretty much be telling them I'm pregnant as I arrive. Really not looking forward to it. Pretty sure I'm going to be basically regarded as useless to them.

Blueskies80 · 21/06/2016 22:56

Evening all
Hope all are ok.
I didn't feel too ill today so naturally worrying about MC now! Can't win :-/
8 plus 3 today.

SpinALittleFaster · 21/06/2016 23:48

Marking my place again. I'm struggling to keep up because I'm not getting much time to myself.

Good luck tomorrow wispa.

I have an appointment with my midwife tomorrow and freaking out slightly because it still doesn't feel real yet. I'd already had a scan by this point last time due to bleeding so at least I knew there was a heart beating. It feels really strange to wait when I don't have a clue if everything is ok so far.

monkeyandlion2012 · 21/06/2016 23:53

Hi again starting to worry about having two under one with a 3yr anyone else have such a small gap? I also spotted today but I did with my other two so not to worred

CeeCeeEnnEss · 22/06/2016 06:39

scary and evergreen I am also with you on the exhaustion. Sleeping relatively well but it is never enough!

Nausea bad this morning and I can't think of a single food I want to eat other than salt and vinegar crinkle cut crisps. Bah.

Ginger06 · 22/06/2016 06:54

CeeCeeEnnes try some lemongrass and honey tea I make it from
Fresh ingredient and sometimes it helps

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 07:17

The nausea this morning just feels normal now, it's as if I'm constantly on the brink of vomiting all the time. I also got heartburn last night!! Surely it's too early for that?? I only ever got heart burn in 2nd and 3rd trimesters last time. Coincidence? I never normally get it, apart from when pregnant.

I'm also starting to worry it is twins and I will end up with four under four Shock. It's just my brain, going into overactive worry mode.

spin I'm the same, early scans for both other DDs, so very odd this time to just be carrying on without knowing for certain all is ok. I'm taking reassurance in the 3+ on the CB and MS.

monkey I had a two year gap and loved it so much, we've done it again! I think it's a brilliant gap because you have one out of nappies, one who likes to help and you can remember everything from the last time as it wasn't that long ago! My two DDs are 3 and 1 and are best friends. Really hoping this new DC is as easy as the last two!

ceecee the crinkle cut is crucial, right?? I am struggling to pick what to eat this morning...I've got a strong urge to have a fried egg sandwich.

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 22/06/2016 07:19

Maybe I'm still in the game. Yesterday I had proper period style bleeding, a few little clots for a laugh as well. No painful cramping, just the usual dull aches i've had for a fortnight. Booked in for an early scan tomorrow. The bleeding is now getting lighter. Don't want to be too hopeful but I know some women are just bleeders, my best mate was in her 1st pregnancy and her little girl is 3 in a fortnight. I also did a CBD laSt night with afternoon wee and got the 3+. I don't know, tomorrow could go either way but I'm feeling ok. [Smile]

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 22/06/2016 07:21

Bloody phone, ignore the bad grammar and the smiley that didn't work Grin

Ginger06 · 22/06/2016 07:22

Flyingspagetti prayers for you. I hope all is well and you get good news

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 07:27

flying thinking of you- I was a bleeder and I understand the worry. Fingers crossed all is ok.

GinandJazzHands · 22/06/2016 07:41

Thinking of you flying and hope all is OK BrewChocolate

Evergreen17 · 22/06/2016 07:43

Flying best of luck for the scan
How far are you now?
Yea apparently the more I research the more I see that bleeding is common. I havent had any myself but I think either you are a bleeder of not. Bit like marmite

Let us know how it goes

HighHopes16 · 22/06/2016 07:59

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Flying ! Flowers
I had/have bleeding and was told its because I have an 'ectropion cervix' which is apparently quite common in pregnancy.

FriendlyGhost · 22/06/2016 08:06

Good luck for your scan flying. If this group has taught me anything it's that bleeding is really common and rarely a problem.
Ma I hope your eye's feeling better. Sounds nasty.
Monkey I'm going to have a two year gap. I'm feeling a bit nervous about how my clingy little girl will take it. I'm also hoping she starts sleeping through soon as two of them up in the night might break me. Hopefully we'll cope!

Scarydinosaurs · 22/06/2016 08:18

ever I like Marmite AND I am a bleeder...correlation?? 😂

high is that a sensitive cervix? My bleeds "when I poke it like this" (thank you Mrs Doctor whilst you poke me and say this- stop poking it then!) so after my internal scan I had awful bleeding and spotting all the way through.

friendly my elder DD slept better once the baby arrived. I think she suddenly saw herself as 'the big girl' apart from a few bad patches, it is much improved. Bed time is also better as she loves the companionship of both of them getting ready for bed. It's really lovely.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 22/06/2016 08:25

Good luck for the scan flying how far are you?

Last night had a horrible gagging sensation and this morning I've just had breakfast and this wave of nausea has washed over me, got to go into London for a meeting today, this was not the day I needed it to kick in!!

SkyLucy · 22/06/2016 08:37

Advice please! Following a couple of days of light bleeding, I have an early scan at 10.30am today. It's just occurred to me that no one told me to have a full bladder beforehand. Should I?

The hospital think I'm 7+1 (going on LMP), I suspect I'm 6+1. Does either make a difference? Not sure whether to get on the Evian now, just in case?

Help! Thanks! Shock

sky I think you need a full bladder. Apparently it's to lift your uterus up so they can scan, this early it's too low for them in the pelvis to scan without a full bladder.

In my last pregnancy noone told me at 20 weeks that you don't need a full bladder so i went to the scan desperately needing a wee! The nurse explained to me why i didn't need a full bladder at 20 wks and she let me go for a wee Blush

Lucy1308 · 22/06/2016 08:44

Any advice I've seen about early scans says around 850ml of water/ clear fluids an hour before the appointment. Hope all is ok flying and sky!

Evergreen17 · 22/06/2016 08:54

Scary I dont like marmite and I am no bleeder Grin
Lets get more data!!!

Evergreen17 · 22/06/2016 08:56

Sky if you are having Transvaginal then no full bladder
If you are having transabdominal then yes
I would bring it full and ask the receptionist then wee if needed

gumbootsandjandals · 22/06/2016 09:02

sky for a transvaginal scan you need an empty bladder. If you don't know what type you're having I'd go with a full bladder. They will ask you to have a wee if necessary.

I made it into work today. I've just been sent home. I fessed up to two senior colleagues and because I've started spotting again they are insisting I stay at home and do nothing while the kids are with the childminder.

One colleague said she felt nauseous and bled throughout her second pg...

gumbootsandjandals · 22/06/2016 09:04
