A thread for all of us who have very recently discovered we're upduffed, with a due date of the achingly-long-away February 2017. It's early days for us all so there's lots of good news, sad news, sage advice and never-too-silly questions.

Second thread already! First is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2642653-Due-in-February-2017?

6+4 today (approx) I last did a CB test over two weeks ago & it said 2-3 so I would've been concerned if I didn't get 3+ this time.
Yes I've started to get waves of sickness/dizziness but they seem to pass as soon as I eat. Which is not good as I've put 2lbs on in the last 2 weeks already !

BabCNesbitt · 21/06/2016 07:48

Hi all, can I join in? BFP on Friday, and according to LMP I should be due 17 February. No sickness yet, touch wood, but we're going to visit relatives abroad for nearly 3 weeks in July and assuming all goes ok, we're debating whether to tell them when we're out there.

Scarydinosaurs · 21/06/2016 07:49

high at least in the second trimester you won't need to do the constant grazing thing. With my last two pregnancies I put a stone on in the first trimester, and then nothing until the end. Honestly, don't worry about two pounds!

This time I feel so much more ill- I've lost a stone in the last month and managed some breakfast but can already feel it gurgling in a gross way. Bleugh. Come on, second trimester!

Scarydinosaurs · 21/06/2016 07:51

Congratulations bab

I would say announce if you feel comfortable doing so. We've told family and friends, especially as it makes explaining why I feel so ill much easier!

Lucy1308 · 21/06/2016 08:08

Aww lovely HighHopes!!

I had a wobble last night and said to OH that I was red an early scan. And then I rationalised saying nothing I would do would make any difference so I may aswell save my money to spend on the baby when it arrives!! This is what happens when you're with a tight Yorkshire farmer haha!

Scarydinosaurs · 21/06/2016 08:11

lucy we're also not going to have an early scan. I've had them before (due to not knowing dates with DD1, and then just getting one with DD2) and we're actually a bit relieved to NOT have one this time, as it feels more like a normal pregnancy Grin.

I shall join you on the 'waiting until 12 weeks' bench.

Jojoclaire · 21/06/2016 08:54

I read last night that morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy and midwives love to hear we're feeling lousy! (Silver linings...)

KimmyRox80 · 21/06/2016 08:58

Congratulations BabCNesbitt :-) Another for 17th Feb, yay!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 21/06/2016 09:05

Congratulations bab

I had a major wobble last night, just panicked that it's all going to go wrong, poor dh didn't quite know what to do with me. Feel a bit more positive this morning, still wondering about an early scan, wondering if it would put my mind at ease or would I still worry afterwards?

Lucy1308 · 21/06/2016 09:10

Will happily joint you on the bench scary!!

I just think it won't matter what I do, say, think, eat, take or see. If it is meant to be then I will have a lovely healthy baby on the 12 week scan and I will be absolutely fine!! It is only 6 weeks away anyway (well, provided they scan me at 12, could be later I suppose!!) and I've got lots to do in that time anyway so I'm sure it will fly!!

Scarydinosaurs · 21/06/2016 09:15

lucy could also be earlier! I got my scan letter last week, I will be 12 weeks for mine. 2nd of August!

I felt more reassured after the 6 week scan, but then a few days later my anxiety returned again. Just getting past the 12 week point is a huge relief in itself- that means more than the scan itself, I think?

Dreamingoutloud7 · 21/06/2016 09:31

lucy you're right, that's the way I managed to see it last night, realistically whatever happens will happen, and I just need to enjoy every moment now.

scary interesting that you anxiety returned, that's what dh is convinced will happen for me, which it probably would. I'm just going to see how I go.

Thanks ladies

Lucy1308 · 21/06/2016 09:33

I'm trying not to get my hopes up of an earlier scan haha!! I just need to enjoy it and embrace being pregnant but not being waddly yet I think!! And be thankful that I've not got many symptoms other than sore boobs and random nauseous spells!!

Kellz92 · 21/06/2016 10:32

FriendlyGhost · 21/06/2016 10:44

Congratulations on the new bfps!
I'm now six weeks so at the first mini milestone I wanted to get to. I'm also having a big wobble though and I can't speak to my DH as I promised him I wouldn't get as anxious as last time and would try to relax.
Does anyone on no.2 or more have completely different symptoms this time? By this stage with dd I had a constant headache and constant all day nausea. This time I'm exhausted but I don't have the headache and only waves of nausea. The nausea is nowhere near as strong as last time. It's possible that I'm not feeling as bad because I'm not working so don't have a long commute and stressful job but I can't shake the fear that something's wrong. I just want to fast forward to 12 weeks!

GinandJazzHands · 21/06/2016 10:45

Morning all! Relieved to be 5 weeks today. Had my uneventful GP appointment; chose my hospital, he took my blood pressure and explained I'll get booked in and scanned at the same time at the hospital at about 12 weeks. I know I ovulated late and told him that but he still calculated it from LMP which I think means I will get booked in scanned at about 10 weeks. Hopefully that will work out well though because I'm having an early scan at 7.5 and we want to tell family when we visit them at 11 weeks. Not really feeling sick yet and weirdly looking forward to it a bit because as you say it's a sign all is going well (someone remind me of that when I'm moaning in a fortnight!) Grin

GinandJazzHands · 21/06/2016 10:49

Welcome newbies! friendly try not to worry. I'm only on #1 but I'd be shocked if each pregnancy wasn't different, esp. as your circumstances have changed. Are you sure you can't talk to DH? I'm sure he'd want to know if you were anxious even if he is keen for you not to be. Thinking of you ChocolateBrew

FriendlyGhost · 21/06/2016 11:08

Thanks Gin I probably am just being silly. I worried constantly last time and drove my DH mad so I don't want to do that again. Every time my nausea got a bit better for a day I convinced myself things were going wrong and got upset. He keeps reminding me that I had these wobbles but that everything was fine so he just thinks I'm worrying about nothing.

Readytosettle · 21/06/2016 11:28

Friendly, I feel I'm worse this time than I was with DS. Not sure if it's because I'm more tired (I had 2 weeks in Bali with my feet up at this point in my last pg & wasn't managing a toddler alongside a ft job). It's also possible that I'm having a girl rather than a boy this time as we DTD a couple of days before ov rather than on ov day. Obvs got a few weeks before we find out if that's true! My skin seems to be better this time around so fingers x'd that works.

gumbootsandjandals · 21/06/2016 12:39

Hi all. Had my scan this morning. Viable pregnancy of approx 7 weeks. Saw the heartbeat! The sonographer could see a small area of bleeding that may have been the cause of the spotting. She and the nurse I saw afterwards said it's quite common. They also looked at my c section scar and said it looked good.

Had a brief discussion with the nurse about whether or not I will go for another vbac.

Afterwards I nipped to the supermarket to see what took my fancy. Came away with croissants, cola bottle sweets, tinned spaghetti and strawberry milk. On the drive home thought I was going to vomit in the car. Now trying to eat a warm croissant but my stomach is sending strong warning signals not to push it.

I am going to have to go to work tomorrow and just fess up I think. I had terrible nausea last pg but I fear I'm heading to actual vomit land this time and don't want to be spewing on patients.

Dreamingoutloud7 · 21/06/2016 13:01

Yay gum that's so exciting!! Sorry about the nausea though.

Just got a delivery of holiday clothes through as we go this weekend, had to go for loose and flowy styles, not that I'm kidding myself that there will be a bump, it's to hide this insane bloating!

Dreamingoutloud7 · 21/06/2016 13:05

I have to go to the drs this afternoon to change my surname (been married 3 years and just haven't got round to it, don't really want all my paperwork in my maiden name!)
Do you think I should tell them I'm pregnant, on their website it says to pop in at 6 weeks to fill out the forms but I'll be away then and won't be back til just coming up 8 weeks?

FriendlyGhost · 21/06/2016 13:06

Excellent news gum.
Ready maybe I'm having a boy this time and that's why my symptoms are different. I've snapped myself out of my worrying for a bit. I tend to feel worse in the afternoon so I expect I'll have a morning panic more than once.

wispaxmas · 21/06/2016 13:08

Great news, gum!!

I am so excited for my scan tomorrow, I can barely contain myself. Also excited that we are going to tell our families, and I might tell my regular Fitbit challenge friends, because I used to be top of the challenges and I just haven't managed that in a couple weeks due to fatigue and nausea. I know it's a silly thing to care about, but I do.

SausageDogGeorge · 21/06/2016 13:10

I found out last Monday and I'm 6+3 - my third child (first with my current lovely partner) I also have a DS 13 and a DD 11 Smile Very excited but can't wait for the scan! Booked for a private scan at 8 weeks as otherwise would need to wait for 12 weeks on NHS.
