Anyone else's vitamin supplements making them feel ill for a bit? I always feel sick after mine but it passes in an hour or so Confused

Readytosettle · 12/06/2016 11:52

Nausea was my first symptom evergreen, in fact it's what made me decide to test at 4+2.

Readytosettle · 12/06/2016 12:07

Just received my maternity exemption card in the post....time to book a dental check up! Smile

LuckyinOctober · 12/06/2016 12:20

Whispering hello, I've read through the thread so far but been scared to join in case I jinx myself somehow after having had two recent MCs (first in Nov last year at 6 weeks and second in March this year at 5 weeks).

I'm currently 6 + 3 based on my ovulation date and have gone past the point of my previous MCs which has given me comfort. I'm constantly watching out for spotting, and have found it reassuring to read that ladies here have had spotting or bleeding and continuing pregnancies. I also found the link that was posted about statistical odds of miscarriage reducing as the pregnancy continues encouraging, as that means every day my baby stays put is a day closer to the safe zone.

My EDD is 4th Feb and my scan is booked for 19th July. Since I've been seen in the EPU with my MCs I've been offered an early scan at 8 weeks but actually tempted not to do it unless I get spotting as I think it would add anxiety for me rather than reduce it.

SkyLucy · 12/06/2016 12:25

Hi ever, I'm only 4+5 but I had horrendous nausea two days before my period was even due, then waves of it over the following week. Nothing for the past couple of days - can't work out if that's a good or a bad thing! Confused

Hope you're okay dutchy, it can only be a good sign that the CB is giving you good news Smile. I'm going to do one tomorrow, fingers and toes crossed it says 2-3 - it was 1-2 last Monday and Thursday and I really, really want to see it increase.

Had a bit of a scare yesterday - bleeding post DTD. (Sorry if TMI!) Think it scared DH more than me! Wasn't much and all is well today, but now I'm reluctant to DTD at all Sad

ScottishSnowflake · 12/06/2016 12:26

Hello and welcome Lucky, so sorry to hear about your two recent MCs. Keeping fingers crossed for you.

SpinALittleFaster · 12/06/2016 12:28

I hope everything is ok Dutchy.
snowflake you might be able to get free vitamins from your midwife which don't have as much in them. I felt awful with pregnacare and similar because of the iron in them.

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 12/06/2016 12:50

Hello everyone! Really didn't think I'd be joining one of these threads for a while.

I had a MMC last month, chose the SMM. Hospital advised us not to try for at least a month, have a period first. So we didn't try, but we were careless... twice Blush. I've felt a bit iffy for a few days, went for a run on Thursday and really struggled, assumed my period was on its way. Nothing Friday and Saturday so I decided to test, not even sure why to be honest! Definitely wasn't expecting that BFP! At the moment I'm torn between feeling happy, nervous and scared. Really wasn't expecting this at all and I'm not really sure if I'm ready yet.

For obvious reasons, I don't have an EDD yet, but if I use the last time OH and I were careless in the bedroom as ovulation date then I'm guessing 18th February. My doctor's going to hate me!

ScottishSnowflake · 12/06/2016 13:02

Thanks spin, I'll ask her when I see her!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 12/06/2016 13:03

SkyLucy - that sound a bit like me. The nausea was what encouraged me to test well before my period was due. Even now, I have small waves, although when I'm not feeling queasy I can't seem to shovel food in my face quick enough Blush

I've got an early scan booked in for the 23rd. I'll only be 6 weeks, so hope that it's not going to cause more stress if they have difficulty seeing anything.

Has anyone had experiences of early scans showing 2 weeks behind what you though you were? My friend is also pregnant, she went for an early scan thinking she was 8 and a half weeks but the scan gave 6+3. I want to offer her some words of reassurance, but am not sure if this is generally bad news.

MarjorySunshineDust · 12/06/2016 13:06

evergreen I had nausea before meals before I took my pregnancy test! Been getting slowly worse.

snowflake I've also heard that the extra iron in pregnancy vits can cause nausea in 1st trimester. Are you taking them with your biggest meal?

Evergreen17 · 12/06/2016 13:09

Interesting Hmm
TMI alert but I went for my run and on the way back had to run to the toilet with awful diarrhoea Confused
Anyway with this joy??

GinandJazzHands · 12/06/2016 13:13

evergreen my symptoms sound the same as you. A bit emotional today too. Thirsty and weeing a lot. Glad to hear you are ok jodie and thinking of all those who have had spotting/bleeding. Even though it's common doesn't make it less stressful.

ScottishSnowflake · 12/06/2016 13:17

Marjory, I'm taking them with breakfast. Should I switch the vitamins to dinner do you think? They just say take with food Confused

Readytosettle · 12/06/2016 13:18

Ifatfirst I had something similar with DS, went for a scan around 8 weeks & their dates put me back by around a week (can't remember exactly but remember being a bit concerned, but reassured that there was a heartbeat). Anyways, at 12 wk scan they only dated me a day off my original edd so suggests early scan wasn't that reliable for dating.

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 12/06/2016 13:25

Snowflake mine say to take them with a full stomach, ie your biggest meal. I think anything unusual can mess your tummy up though!

auberginefrog · 12/06/2016 13:30

Hi everyone just been catching up - congrats to the new arrivals!

Just wanted to say in my first pregnancy that I had "periods" for the first three months that were just a bit lighter than normal so bleeding doesn't always mean miscarriage - the only way of finding out is to get a scan though so if you are worried you can usually self refer to the EPASS who are really good at doing the early scans and tests - hope everyone's ok

Evergreen17 · 12/06/2016 13:48

Scottish which supplements are those? If they have iron that might be it
Thanks Ready this is all so new for me!!
Lucky hi! Wishing you lots of luck and as you say, you have passed 6 weeks this time. I am obsessed with the statistics and constant knicker watch so I can't imagine how much more anxiety you have suffered FlowersFlowers
Hoping we all have healthy pregnancies please.
Sky this nausea business seems to be a bit random, some people get it some dont, comes, goes,ConfusedConfused
I have read that is common to bleed after dtd because there is a lot of blood flow going to the cervix so it is super normal. Although I havent dared yet Grin
Spaghetti!!! Congratulations!!! So sorry to hear about your MC. Your doctor wont hate you and if that is the case... Whatever!
Gin I cried yesterday for no reasonGrin but I feel great in terms of emotionally (which is rare as I tend to be down a lot)

EmmaT1983 · 12/06/2016 13:48

Well im over my paranoia now, just spoken to oh and he said not to worry the tests arent wrong as i did two, one in front of mum and one in front of him(second one was slightly lighter) but i had been weeing and drinking loads. Phew ladies how to i completely relax, only four weeks today, so eight weeks til i see bubba x

FriendlyGhost · 12/06/2016 13:52

Thinking of you Dutchy
It was the sickness that made me test early too and it was really bad yesterday but I feel fine today. I'm hoping that's because I managed a lie in this morning and I'm sure it's worse when I'm tired. It makes me feel nervous when symptoms come and go though.
I think I'm a bit emotional today. I almost cried because waitrose have discontinued the only cereal that dd will eat and it was the only place I could get it. Don't they realise how hard it is to feed a fussy toddler? Got home and wailed to DH who just looked at me like I'd lost the plot.

GinandJazzHands · 12/06/2016 14:05

Welcome flying and lucky! succeed did your friend say they picked up a heartbeat? If so maybe it just means she conceived later than she thought? Feeling properly emotional today. I never used to get like this before AF and I'm quite calm in work so worried I'll overreact to things and show myself up!

GinandJazzHands · 12/06/2016 14:07

flying I bloody love your name by the way!

FlyingSpaghettiM0nster · 12/06/2016 14:19

Grin thanks Gin, yours is pretty awesome too!

Evergreen17 · 12/06/2016 14:19

Emma if you find out how to relax do let me know Confused
Ghost that cereal story is kind of funny though GrinGrinFlowersFlowers

EmmaT1983 · 12/06/2016 14:40
