mrsg I look the same as you, if not more of a bump yesterday. Currently wearing floaty tops and dresses to hide it! It's all water retention apparently.

I'd do fb but only after 12 weeks as others have said!

10 weeks today, can hardly believe it.

Had my booking in yesterday and was hoping for a date for the 12w scan but the midwife faxed a form to the hospital and they will write me a letter with the date. I requested that it was during half term if possible so dh can make it (he's a teacher). That will be the 12 week week, if that makes sense, so hopefully not an entirely unreasonable request.

Mejse · 13/05/2016 06:22

mrsg my belly is very similar to yours, I'm finding it quite hard to find clothes from my wardrobe that hide it.

I would also consider joining a fb group after 12 weeks.

Quick question. Have any of you traveled in a car for 3 hours+ in your first trimester before? We were meant to be going by train which I would have been comfortable with even though it was going to be a longer journey but now fil has offered to drive us. I haven't been in a car since I have been pregnant but buses make me feel a lot more nauseous. Anyone have any advice?

Majorlyscared1993 · 13/05/2016 06:46

Mesje look at the horizon, make sure you're in the front, have a bottle of water and crackers to hand and keep the window open even if it's Arctic. I went of a 13 hour flight st 30 weeks you will be fine! Flowers

hiccup223 · 13/05/2016 07:06

Checking back in after a quiet week or so...
Had booking in appointment yesterday and a private early scan. Did make things feel more real, but still can't quite get my head around that little blob being inside me!! Scan put me back by 1 day so will see what the 12w one says! Edging even closer to Xmas and I'm just about allowing myself to believe it and start planning!
Happy to see everyone's scans and good news! My heart goes out to those who are having a hard time!
My symptoms have been manageable until this week when I have had sickness for two days. I thought that was bad so I can't even imagine how some of you are coping!
I don't think we want to find out the sex, although the possibility is tempting! Now I know everything is progressing as it should I feel much more reassured so will have a think about the rest of the stuff!
Mesje I feel loads better in a car than a bus if that helps. Did a 4 hour journey last week and was fine but sickness didn't seem to have kicked in by then.
Sorry for the essay! Hope everyone has a good day and weekend Smile

More scan waiting and symptom analysis from the December 2016 babies!
SouthDownsSunshine · 13/05/2016 07:25

Shall we put the fb group off until most of us have had our 12 week scans? We can make it a secret group, and if, like me, you like your privacy, then set your own fb profile up as max privacy so others in the group can't see anything outside of the group. (Does that make sense?)

My tummy has actually gone flatter the last week! I've gone from maternity clothes back to my larger normal clothes. It's still thicker than before but I've lost the bump.

Theaks · 13/05/2016 07:26

I'm 10.5 today, still awaiting my scan date! Getting very disappointed coming home from work and only finding junk mail! I need to know a date now as my work diary is booking up fast! I also have a little tum, so floaty tops have come out of the wardrobe. My jeans are really uncomfortable but I feel a little worried about buying new ones or maternity so early on.
We decided not to find out the sex, just rather my hubby tell me what we have after the birth, got a picture of it in my head and it seems special that way! Convinced it's a girl though, 2 weeks before finding out we was pregnant I had 3 dreams about pushing around a pink pushchair! I bloody hate pink as a colour so very strange. Not knowing about my dreams my boss said defo a girl when I told her when I was 6 weeks.

Bigfam · 13/05/2016 07:27

I haven't got fb either.
I know it's a long way off, but what is everyone thinking in terms of feeding baby? Breast or formula?
My mw asked me at my booking in apt the other day, I told her about the awful ordeal I went through with my first DC who I tried to breast feed, I had mastitis that led to a breast abscess that had to be 'drained' under general anaesthetic, but they then left me with an open wound that had to be filled with gauze every day by a nurse so it could heal from the inside out, it was a really horrible experience and I know it's unlikely to happen again but I just feel that for me, formula is best.

SouthDownsSunshine · 13/05/2016 07:37

Gah. Bleeding again! Will it never stop?!

Bigfam · 13/05/2016 07:51

Hope you're OK sunshine, try not to worry lovely Flowers

SolomanDaisy · 13/05/2016 07:54

mejsje I find car travel the worst thing! I've flown and been on the train and the car was the worst bit. I agree with with the advice to have a window open though, that makes a big difference. And having something to vomit into, just for reassurance! Everyone finds different things worse though, I have no problem on the bus, so you might be fine.

Bigfam, that sounds awful! I'd definitely be using formula if that had happened to me. I breastfed DS for ages, so I'm hoping to breastfeed again (not for as long this time though!)

We'll definitely find out the sex if we can. I had a dream that it was a girl, but I'm not sure. I'm happy either way, I just like to know!

My sickness has suddenly got worse again the past two days. I'm 10+5 and I thought the improvement earlier this week was the start of it going away, but no. It's been really hot here and I just feel sweaty, sick and exhausted. Can't wait to get to the second trimester! It's less than a week until my dating scan. I feel weird about it because I have to have the nuchal scan separately a week or so later, so I feel like it's only a half reassurance next week.

NotAClue82 · 13/05/2016 08:03

Sunshine I hope you're okay Flowers

Soloman Like you I breastfed my other child for quite some time (20 months) so I would love to breastfeed again, if I can. I hope it will work out with the twins!

NotAClue82 · 13/05/2016 08:05

Bigfam your breastfeeding ordeal sounds absolutely horrendous! I can see why you prefer formula feeding!

TinySalmon · 13/05/2016 08:06

mesje I thought I was the only one! From about 6+5 weeks pregnant I have not been able to get a train or bus because it makes me nauseous! If I'm in the car then I have to be the driver or again I just feel sick.

For my ladies in London: how are you all faring on the tube? I find the tube makes me really uncomfortable, hot, nauseous, want to pass out.. And never did before I was pregnant.

south Flowers I know you've had the reassurance from the scan that everything is ok but it's never enough is it. I told DP I won't stop worrying till I deliver a healthy baby. Bleeding in early pregnancy is nothing to worry about unless it starts to get really heavy xx

Helgathehairy · 13/05/2016 08:12

I could have had my early scan today but when the midwife called and said 'can you come in for a scan on Friday the 13th' I just couldn't face it! Luckily, before I'd said anything, she laughed and said 'maybe not, how about Monday'.

I'm not superstitious but still!

Helgathehairy · 13/05/2016 08:17

bigfam that sounds horrible. I think under the circumstances I'd be going for formula in your situation too.

As it was I breast fed DD till she was 2. She was a bottle refuser as well. She took one bottle in her life! Next time around I'd try a bit more to have baby take a bottle.

ChocolateRaisin · 13/05/2016 08:19

Morning everyone. Feeling rubbish today, have been off sick since Wednesday with sore throat, head ache and temperature. Am feeling mainly better but just totally exhausted this morning. Contemplating not going in today as well, though I feel like I should. Blugh.

I've got my booking in app at 9+4 and scan at 13+1. Have a reassurance scan booked in for next week as I can't wait until 21st June to hear a heartbeat.

Going to drag myself into the shower to see if that perks me up a bit...

SouthDownsSunshine · 13/05/2016 08:23

Thanks tiny. I was on cloud nine after Wednesday's scan, but I've come crashing down again. I'm trying to stay positive. .

swancourt · 13/05/2016 08:37

Poached all the way! I totally ignore both runny eggs and soft cheese rules - in fact, most of the rules are bollocks. There's a book out on it somewhere. Also had a glass of wine on Weds to fool my colleagues Shock

Eskerina81 · 13/05/2016 08:39

bigfam I think I'd be going for formula if that'd happened to me too!

I breastfed dd so I'm hoping to do the same for this one.

I'm definitely planning on finding out the gender at the 20 week scan. I hate the thought that the ultrasound tech might know and not me!

Rosa89 · 13/05/2016 08:46

Hi all, placemarking Smile The threads are moving fast!

TinySalmon All good things on the St.Georges front, staff were lovely and supportive and one family member had a waterbirth they said they would recommend.

I'm feeling quite sick on the mornings and finding dinner hard to eat some days. So anxious to get to the 12 week scan now.

Soloman I breastfed but it took me about 7 weeks before I felt DD had gotten a proper latch. I also suffered with mastitis several times which was awful bug I enjoyed breastfeeding once I'd figured it all out. I think you have to do what's best for you as well as baby though as you're both in it together.

billabye · 13/05/2016 08:56

Bigfam I'm planning on bf for first couple of days to get the colostrum then formula after that. I bf my DD for a few months but hated it. I have huge boobs and coupled with an oversupply it wasn't fun. I felt very restricted and really didn't enjoy it. I say do what suits you. There's no right or wrong.

cnchapmanxx · 13/05/2016 09:10

Morning
Place marking
Will be off here for a good 3 weeks! Flying to USA on Monday and travelling down to see family today! Hope everyone's scans go well And il be looking forward to having mine on the 8th June!
Xxx

lilydaisyrose · 13/05/2016 09:25

Have a brilliant holiday chapman!! That sounds amazing! Pop in and let us know how you are if you get online.

SDS can't believe the luck you've had with this off/on bleeding. I really feel for you. Please keep us updated. Is it worth another trip to EPU?

chocolate, hope you feel better soon.

My worry is wih FB is that everyone disappears to there and stops posting here and they'll just be a few of us left. Please don't all disappear as you are such a wonderful support.

I have been feeling awful over the last few days - really hungover feeling, no energy, lethargic, gagging all over the place and just rubbish. I'm stressed too as I've got my 2 jobs (my p/t job and my business), loads of housework to do, the garden is like a jungle and it's my son's 7th birthday the week after next and he's having 2 x mini parties that I'm totally disorganised for and although we've got his main gift sorted I've not much to wrap so need to go and get some bits and pieces - aarrggghhhh! To top it all off my Dad needs some support this weekend as his brother has died and he can't get to the funeral (ill health - my Mum has gone to represent us all, it's overseas) - I love my Dad and want to support him but he's basically coming here to hang out all weekend and I've so so much to dooooo!!!!

I had my poached eggs last night - didn't even consider the runny factor, I'm a bit blasé with DC3!! They were yummy but I don't think enough for tea as I felt really poorly overnight as I was hungry. It's a full time job this making sure I'm eating enough!!

I breastfed my two and have no experience with formula so I imagine I'll breastfeed again - looking forward to that actually! My eldest was fine one we got a hold and latch sorted, but my son was a different story - tongue tie (which was snipped at 18 days old) and painful latch for 15.5 months, if I didn't know what I was doing and hadn't gained the experience with DD, I'd have given up.

SolomanDaisy · 13/05/2016 09:27

Rosa89, yeah we didn't have a smooth start either. DS had a tongue tie and I had oversupply. DS was also a very frequent feeder. It was hard work to start with. I remember feeding on a ferry when he was about three months and there was a woman with a baby about the same age bottle feeding. It was a real surprise to notice 'oh, breastfeeding actually is easier than bottle feeding now!' Three months felt like a lifetime at the time.

Azure83 · 13/05/2016 09:37

tiny I get a train into c. London, rarely have to get on the tube but I find it much more smelly now that I have a nose of a hound.. I also carry my baby on board badge in my bag in case I feel shit but haven't had to use it yet.

It was our 1St wedding anniversary yesterday! We went for dinner in a fairly swanky place but mocktails for me.. Luckily I don't have problems with food atm so could eat everything.

I feel like I'm showing but it must be bloating/water retention at this stage! My trousers still fit but tummy definitely feels bigger and sort of mushy. Loose tops all round!
