I'm right there with the rage dartmoor I've found I'm ALOT less tolerant this time than I was with DD. I'm convinced it's a boy. I am hypersensitive to anything with testosterone in it and I reckon I've got some raging about inside.

thisisbonkers I took everything apart from the down syndrome screening.

I'd be on board with a FB group.

kittyscot81 · 12/05/2016 21:15

Yes, that's just it isn't it, its such a special surprise and having the option of knowing is relatively new, our grannies and great grannies wouldn't have even had the choice!

kittyscot81 · 12/05/2016 21:18

This is bonkers I felt exactly the same way. I've signed the form for the downs test but retrospectively I would almost rather not know because its just given me another thing to worry about.

babyinthacorner · 12/05/2016 21:20

Majorly I just have to clean everything meticulously with hot water... So boring.

I've got my scan on my birthday. So it'll either be one of the best or the worst birthday ever... Dreading it, tbh.

Bella1985 · 12/05/2016 21:24

I'll probably hold off on joining the facebook group until I've had the 12 week scan (which will probably be mid-june) just in case things go wrong. for some reason facebook feels more like my 'real' world where my friends and family exist and until I hear a heartbeat and see a baby this feels like it's too good to be true and I'm dreaming up this baby! You should definately set one up and go ahead with it though. Smile

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 21:26

Oh babyinthecorner that sounds like ball ache of the highest order!

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/05/2016 21:27

Ooo baby another Gemini! My scan is the day before my birthday so either way it means I can have a glass of wine Grin

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/05/2016 21:28

Sorry I know that sounds flippant but it's how I deal with stress/worry! By being flippant I mean NOT by drinking ... Just so we're clear!!

leotwist · 12/05/2016 21:32

I'd think about joining a FB group after 12 weeks too (in another month), but my FB is in my own name. So not sure I'd feel quite as free and floaty as I do on here Smile.

Re screening, we've had so much pre-testing, we're ok with nothing further. Not sure I would otherwise though.

Good luck babyinthacorner with your scan. I'd hate to have that on my birthday though, just in case. Isn't there some way to reschedule for a different date?

TipBoov · 12/05/2016 21:33

New thread!

At what stage is everyone having their booking in? I had mine yesterday at 10+0, and now I'm waiting for a screening scan appointment.

I discussed the possibility of a cesarian with the midwife, she said I don't need to commit until 36 weeks. I'm undecided but I had a difficult birth with DS1, and I don't know if I could do it again. It's partly why we waited 4 years to have a second child!

birchygoo · 12/05/2016 21:37

I can't believe we are onto a new thread! I haven't seen the rest of the last thread.
I'm feeling so yucky today. Tired, irritable, feel so sick, headache, very bloated and pain from bloating. Worst day I have had yet Sad feeling very sorry for myself. Although as dh said I would prefer this than no symptoms as when inhad no symptoms for a week I was freaking out. I am 10+4 today and scan ain't until another 14 days ... Don't know how I'm going to survive the wait!

lilydaisyrose · 12/05/2016 21:42

Oh please don't all go off to FB! I don't have FB and would be so sad if you all left here to go there...

birchygoo · 12/05/2016 21:49

I prob won't join fb as mine is quite private due to my job and I wouldn't feel able to talk as freely

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 21:55

Yes I don't have Fb either! And I want to be able to talk as honestly and as gruesomely as possible Wink Flowers birchy it's rough isn't it.

Tip I will be having elcs as I have a very mild prolapse after birthing ds last year... I'm quite nervous about broaching the subject with hcps as if the ones I have come into contact so far are anything to go by they will be a bunch of argumentative irritating wank flannels. But there we are!

MrsG321 · 12/05/2016 21:57

Hi ladies! I'm just re posting as posted on the old one. I'm 7 weeks pregnant had a scan a couple of weeks ago they dated me less than 6 weeks found a heartbeat so dated between 5-6. Anyway this is me now and I've been eating a lot more as its the only thing that makes me feel better and not nauseous but I'm surprised at what I can see at 7 weeks. It's my second baby and I know I'm quite thin but at this stage surely the only change is a swollen uterus? Could I be retained fluid at this stage? My 12 week scan won't be until end of June so I'm wondering how I can hide it until then Confused

More scan waiting and symptom analysis from the December 2016 babies!
Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 21:57

With hormones raging I feel like prolapse is not talked about enough in the real world. I was made to feel like a freak when it happened to me as I am relatively young (23) and had a small baby. But it happens! And it's not embarrassing. And it doesn't have to affect your life. It's just another one of those tiny things that remind you of how great you were in the delivery suite that day Wink

Sorry I sound ridiculous!

TipBoov · 12/05/2016 22:06

Prolapse isn't spoken about IRL really, but it is surprisingly common! One of my NCT freinds suffered, and she had a small baby.

The only physical thing from my previous birth that still bothers me is a vaginal pile. (Tmi!) but I didn't bother getting it looked at, as at the time I had a second degree tear so wanted that to be fixed first Shock

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 22:11

Exactly, a male gynaecologist looked at me like I had two heads when I told him I had a suspected mild prolapse. I was very disheartened and upset about the whole ordeal. After making out as if I was against medical odds or there was something wrong with me for having a prolapse he asked if he could EXAMINE ME!!! I thought he's got more chance of me giving him a strip tease while singing the theme tune to supermarket sweep with a monkey sitting on my head. After that ordeal I saw the most amazing female gynae who told me it is barely anything and not to worry and she would be more than happy to refer me to have it fixed whenever I am ready.

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 22:12

But definitely elcs this time, tip Wink

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 22:13

And Flowers for tearing and pile, the things we go through eh.

leotwist · 12/05/2016 22:18

I'll definitely be staying on MN. I have FB but I like keeping them separate. The World at Large doesn't know about my pregnancy yet which, for now, I rather like.

As for prolapses, not to be unsympathetic but FFS, yet another horror to worry about! Confused

babyinthacorner · 12/05/2016 22:18

High five Dartmoor!

Leo I had to call to rearrange date as the original
Date was the same day as a school trip, then we're on holiday. They offered me 13th June but I just broke down in tears because I can't wait that long. Lady on the phone was lovely and have me the day before my original date even though I'll be 1 day off 12 weeks. I'm not happy about it, but desperately need to know...

Majorlyscared1993 · 12/05/2016 22:24

That's the problem Leo! It's not a horror as it is made out to be. I thought the world was going to end... I thought I would never have sex again and my fanjo wouldn't work properly... But hey presto here I am 4 and a half months on doing it all again Wink

Helbelle75 · 12/05/2016 22:38

baby I'll be 11+4 when I have my scan as I'm on a school trip after that for a week and then on hols with DH. I think it will ne fine -sooner earlier than later for me.
mrsg I have alittle tummy, whereas usually I'm flat. I'm hiding it under floaty dresses and tops. I think it's water retention and a bit of bloating for me.

firawla · 13/05/2016 01:17

Marking place onto the new thread!

I'd be happy to join a FB group if we made one, would stay on here too though :)

Booking in apt for me tomorrow at 9 weeks, hoping will get a date for dating scan soon. My mum was talking me out of the harmony because it's a lot of money, which I suppose is right really, so will just stick to the Nhs scans and screening for now and see how it goes
