Thread #6 - TTC#1 Grads - Sun roasted pregnant ladies

PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Sorry to hear about the house stresses Potato and Planet. Fingers crossed for better news for you both soon.

Shelb, have there been any baby movement development since you posted?

Portugal sounds lovely Indi. Three weeks until our holiday and I can't wait!

PotatosMum · 26/05/2016 13:43

Speaking of baby movement. Potato seemed to turn quite dramatically this morning (it actually hurt where she was digging her little feet in) and now although I've felt her squirm I'm no longer feeling kicks. I'm wondering if she's got into the head down position and her kicks are being cushioned by the placenta/fibroid. Which are higher up Confused

Hi ladies

Sorry, had a deadline, I should have updated you sooner - yes she's moved!! Smile I was so relieved I can tell you.

That sounds stressful potato, I remember similar from last year.

Hey - has anyone started stocking up on disposable nappies yet if you are going to be using Them? If so, what size?

X

Pinklily1 · 26/05/2016 18:57

Shelb, we've bought pampers newborn, which I think are referred to as size 1. We are just getting those for now and then will see what size baby comes out at before we get anymore.

Pleased you have felt movement!

Nevlet · 26/05/2016 19:15

Hello! Sorry been away from posting for a while as mad busy at work.

Too much to catch up on so will just say I hope everyone is as well as can be.

Been confirmed with SPD today... Fantastic. On the upside had an unexpected tour of our local MLU where my appointments are and think OH is really coming round to the idea of birth there rather than at the hospital at nearest town. So that is an improvement.

Have a lovely evening girls!

Co5mo · 26/05/2016 20:24

Same here Nev, so busy at work all I seem to be able to do is wave from the sidelines. 20 week milestone today. Will post a bump picture when I get a chance. You could easily be mistaken in thinking I'm having twins if you were to compare my bump to Indi's tiny bump and beach bronzed pic (not that I'm jealous or anything).

Scan is on Tuesday. My bet is on team blue. Anyway, back to waving from the sidelines.

Mileymoocow · 26/05/2016 20:27

OH has been and bought me a maternity pillow today and it's huuuuge! Tried it out after work and fell asleep for a couple of hours - woop!

shelb great news all is ok Smile we've been recommended the asda little angels ones, we have 4 packs of size 1 and 2 packs of size 3. Missing size 2 out as sizes overlap

Newmrs22 · 26/05/2016 20:44

I miss 2 days and you lot do about 4 pages of chatting Grin

Sorry about your dad Bunch. Mine had to have his prostate out a year ago and it actually wasn't as bad as he thought. He recovered much better than expected.

You guys are so organised! I've literally just got a pram, a second hand Moses basket, about 3 sleep suits and a blanket Blush I really need to get a move on!

I'm starting to get massive! I can't really believe that my belly can grow more. I also have the taming problem. Maybe a mirror will help!

Miley I love my pillow. I can't imagine ever going back now!

Pinklily1 · 26/05/2016 21:05

At what point did the not being able to see you lady bits kick in? I'm 26+2 and still managing to tame, which is a blessing as I go to weekly aqua natal. Not sure what I'm going to do when I can't see my bits anymore Hmm

leoniethelioness · 26/05/2016 21:12

What pillows do you have? I really need to order one. I've looked at the Dream Genii and this one www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00H3AINJ0/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE but I don't know which one is best.

Pinklily1 · 26/05/2016 22:00

Leonie, I've got mamas and papa own brand, grey with white stars on it and it's great. It looks like hard online but is soft and mouldable in reality. I think it was about £28

PotatosMum · 26/05/2016 22:30

Shelb good to hear movement is back to normal. We've not started stocking up on nappies yet but I need to Confused

Hi Nev sorry about the SPD that sucks!

Co5mo congrats on your 20 week milestone and good luck for Tuesday.

Miley yay! For maternity pillow. Enjoy Wink

New your mirror comment for raining made me laugh... TMI but between my huge bump and reduced flexibility because of stupid sticky outie fibroid I can barely even reach my foof!! Lol

Pink my foof disappeared weeks ago Confused I'm 26+5.

Leonie I just went on Amazon and got the one with the best star rating. I think it was just over £20 and I couldn't live without it!

I've finally chilled out a bit after this mornings upset. I've looked online and if worse comes to worse and were turned down by this mortgage company, there are others we can approach, we just can't use our mortgage broker to do it. Feeling a little less hopeless although the time it's taking is still annoying.

Potato is still in a weird position although I'm not too worried as I'm still feeling her squirm quite a lot and I've felt a couple of kicks in a different position to usual.

I really need to do another photo as I can't believe how huge I am now. If I get any bigger OH will have to roll me around. I honestly look like I should be about to drop!

Mileymoocow · 27/05/2016 07:23

potato looking forward to bump picture.

I've put in a last minute flexi day today so I'm off work until Tuesday. Dog needs to go to the vet and I'm shattered from insomnia again and just to add to the fun, I'm having a terrible morning for sickness! Hope everyone has a better day than me.

I'm managing to tame my foof but god knows what I'm going to do when I get big! Has anyone thought about waxing before the big day? It's unlikely I'll care at the time but I shudder at the idea of my midwife staring at what closely resembles a guerning chimp

BunchOfBobs · 27/05/2016 07:35

Miley you just made me choke with laughter. I haven't been able to reach/see for 3 weeks or so. I have no idea what to do. I don't think I'll care come event day.

Nev so sorry to hear you've officially joined the painful club. Have you been referred for Physio or anything?

PotatosMum · 27/05/2016 07:37

Morning all, how are you today?

Miley sorry you're feeling rubbish, I hope your dog is ok?

I've completely given up on my foof. Waxing just sounds too painful so I'm going the out of sight out of mind approach.

Potato woke me up at 2:30 this morning, then I decided that the best thing would be to stay awake for two hours worrying about the mortgage Confused now I'm exhausted!!!

4 weeks today will be my last day at work Grin

OP posts:
Mileymoocow · 27/05/2016 07:47

potato I hope it's sorted soon or you'll end up driving yourself mad!

bunch I usually go for a wax but I can't bare the thought of it at the minute! Think at about 37 weeks I'll brave it if baby hasn't made an early appearance. Think its wrong to use OHs electric razor to trim down? 😂 maybe of I can't see it I can call in a favour from him Wink

Mileymoocow · 27/05/2016 07:48

Forgot to add... pooch is ok, he has a slight eye infection bless him.

shelbTa · 27/05/2016 07:56

Morning

Haha miley. I think I'm going to set up a mirror strategically and try and shave. I'm so gassy at the moment it would be high risk to let a beautician down there!

Day off for me and woke up at 4.45. Awesome.

X

Planeteer · 27/05/2016 08:10

Morning all

Another one in the insomnia club today. Urgh! Predict I will not be winning any employee of the year awards today.

Potato glad it looks like there might be a plan B if it comes to it. Still hoping the original mortgage comes through for you though.

Miley bollocks to the sickness!! Hope you get some rest and sunshine this weekend to fend it off.

Re foof maintenance, I think I'll brave the beautician at some point, although I'm not thrilled at the prospect. Massive TMI (sorry) but has anyone else noticed a higher proportion of ingrowns and misbehaving follicles since being upduffed? Even when pruned things aren't pretty atm!!

What a delightful image to leave you with for a Friday morning. Apologies. Have some cake Cake

Pinklily1 · 27/05/2016 08:25

Morning ladies

I'm also planning on braving a wax close to due date. I know midwives have seen it all and probably don't care but I think I'd be mortified if it was like a forest down there Blush I'm not relishing the idea though as I've read pain is increased in pregnancy...

When do you ladies think you hit the third trimester? My book and Pregnancy + app tell me I'm in it now, at 26+3, but Ovia says its 28 weeks. I also thought it was 28 weeks. The lack of consistency irritates me!

Has anyone got any exciting plans for the long weekend? We are painting the living room - such a wild life!!

Potato, fingers crossed for good news for you soon.

Planet, I've noticed a few more ingrown hairs etc. Another glamorous side effect of pregnancy Hmm

Miley, how is your sickness now? Are you having any sick free days?

BunchOfBobs · 27/05/2016 08:59

Planet YES!!

I'm not sure I can brave a wax. Apparently you're extra sensitive when preggo and it hurts enough when I do it myself. Plus if I squirm in pain I will follow with a Yelp due to pelvic pain
Miley I've already told DH I will need his beard trimmer to scape my own and he may be called in with the wax strips. Bet he can't wait.

Pink midwife and Physio told me 28 weeks.

PotatosMum · 27/05/2016 09:01

Shelb enjoy the day off Smile

Planet no ingrown hairs here (that I know of)

Pink I thought 3rd trimester started at 28 weeks, 27 at a push.

No plans for the weekend here. I think we're just going to be taking it easy. I'm too slow and easily exhausted to do much and the kids complain when we remove them from video games Hmm

Right, I've sent off the new lot of paperwork the mortgage company wanted so fingers crossed that's an end to it but I'm expecting a new selection of questions in a weeks time if I'm honest. Sorry I woffle on about it so much it's just so bloody frustrating and I don't want to vent to OH as that will just make him upset and worried too Confused

Sodasoda · 27/05/2016 09:17

Yep yep (huge amounts of vigorous nodding) waxing during pregnancy bloody KILLS! I had a bag of frozen peas on my foof after I went to beautician before my hols a few weeks ago, it was agony. I'm usually a fairly regular waxer (I shaved once and it was so itchy I've never gone there again!) and don't find it that painful. I am, however, a glutton for punishment and am planning on going again before due date. The beautician advised me to go in the morning rather than in the evening after work like I did last time so try to do that if anyone is braving it.

Ive got a John Lewis pillow (can't remember the name) and it's a really long curve shaped pillow. I chose that one as it'll hopefully be useful when baby comes too for feeding etc. Finding it very comfy so far.

So relieved it's a bank hol, am exhausted after my week of work. I plan on seeing friends, going to a BBQ tomorrow and just thoroughly relaxing! What's everyone else up to?

Nevlet · 27/05/2016 11:11

Yes bunch i have a physio referral now.

Last day at school before half term so next week off then 6 and a half when we come back till my leave starts. Cant wait!

Think little man has turned upside down overnight as bump is huge out front and not much at the sides and movements feel different. Very high up rather than at the sides.

Hope those of you with the day off enjoy the sun!!
