PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Great bumps, Pink and Miley, you both look awesome!

Miley - in terms of children's presents, I've always found this website to be really good - www.wickeduncle.co.uk/

You just put in the gender and/or age of the child you're buying for and it comes up with some really cool things. They're also quite different things as well, so good at first, but the problem comes when the whole family cottons on to using the site and everyone's looking at the same things!

Mileymoocow · 24/05/2016 13:11

danni a gift card is a great idea, never crossed my mind! Think I'll get one for a beauty salon so she can have her nails done or a massage or something.

lisa amazing website, thanks! I'm sorted now. Bought an aqua doodle for the little one and a RC car for the bigger one Grin

PotatosMum · 24/05/2016 15:17

Pink nice bump! glad your baby decided to have a dance in the end Grin

Miley your lovely bump picture makes me look like an elephant so I shouldn't worry if I were you!

No idea about hospital tours Lillian I think I get one as part of the NHS run baby class I have to go to.

I've been binge catching up on Greys Anatomy while I work today. Did not see the end of season 11 coming Shock cried my eyes out and now I have a headache Hmm

Bumps are looking great!

And that is a fab gift website lisa! Thanks for sharing!

I'm having a bit of a rubbish day. Sad

My UTI hasn't cleared after my antibiotics so I had to have a kidney scan (got a bonus peek of baby sitting on my bladder which was nice! Smile) this morning and apparently there is fluid all around my kidney and it's'huge'. Confused Not really sure what this all means. I've got a consultant appt tomorrow with obs dr so hopefully there will be some answers then.

Newmrs22 · 24/05/2016 17:59

Wow you ladies have been chatty! I've missed loads.

Lovely bumps Pink and miley. miley you do not look like you are going to be huge!

So, I weighed myself this morning for my 28 week (yay!) weigh in and I've lost weight. Only a tiny bit. So I've still put on slightly less than a stone. I'm not happy about it, but saw midwife today and she said bump is measuring bang on. I guess baby is getting what it needs. i think part of it is I'm losing so much muscle from lack of exercise.

potato series 11 was sad!

Midwife measured me for some kind of support band because my ligament pain is causing problems. Fingers crossed it helps a bit.

I got my MatB1 today. I had to ask for it though.

soda poor you. Hopefully it'll clear up and it's good they've spotted it so they can keep an eye.

PotatosMum · 24/05/2016 18:23

Soda that really sucks! It sounds like you have a kidney infection, hopefully the consultant will be able to shed some light on it.

New so long as you're measuring correctly I wouldn't worry too much. I wish I wasn't piling on the lbs quite so much but I just can't stop eating!! Blush

Fibroid is definitely more pronounced today. I suppose it could be that Potato is growing and causing it to shift. It's not hurting today but it is uncomfortable. That could just be the discomfort that was predicted because of its size though Confused I'm so paranoid after the last time that it's hard not to worry.

Mileymoocow · 24/05/2016 18:24

new bloody hell! Just shows how different we all are, glad bump is measuring correctly.

Saw my grandma this evening (first time since friday) and she can't believe the difference in size. I guess I saw a bump before everyone else, I thought it was pretty noticeable a week ago.

soda I'm sure it isn't anything to worry about or they'd have told you straight away. Hope you're ok though Flowers

Mileymoocow · 24/05/2016 18:27

potato I'm not surprised you're worried. It's unfair you haven't been able to fully enjoy any of your pregnancy so far. Hope you have a better 3rd tri!

Speaking of which, did anyone get to experience that 'pregnancy glow'? Hmm

leoniethelioness · 24/05/2016 18:29

Is anyone else shattered by four o'clock? Really struggling to keep my energy up for the last hour or so of work. I'm not that busy at the moment so I can leave just after five but dreading things picking back up again and having to stay until later. I'm pretty much ready for bed as soon as I'm home.

shelbTa · 24/05/2016 18:29

Nice bumps guys!

Flowers potato, not long now till you finish eh.

Jesus Christ I'm either bloated from iron and laxative combinations or baby has had a major growth spurt!! My stomach is almost rock solid.

X

Pinklily1 · 24/05/2016 18:31

Soda, sorry to hear you've had a rubbish today. Fingers crossed for good news at your appointment in the morning.

Lilian, I just contacted the hospital directly to arrange a tour. I'm going to change hospital trusts so have organised a tour at the hospital I'm changing too. I'm not a registered patient there yet but was told that anyone can go for a tour and often if people are undecided about which hospital to go to they look around more than one. The process of actually moving seems quite straightforward - I basically discussed it with my midwife and at my next appointment she's going to keep hold of my maternity notes for a few days and send all my info over to the new trust with a transfer request form. From what she has said, it is a simple process so fingers crossed for no difficulties.

Miley, I think your bump is really neat! Mine really popped out from about 22/23 weeks.

That gift website is brilliant - just in time for me trying to find a friends child a 2nd birthday present!

New, I wouldn't worry about weight of the midwife has said your bump is measuring fine.

How is everyone else doing?

Pinklily1 · 24/05/2016 18:34

Miley, the mythological pregnancy glow has alluded me Hmm

Mileymoocow · 24/05/2016 18:49

leonie yeah I'm the same. I'm on flexi time so start at 7 so I can finish at 3 and avoid traffic. I'm exhausted when I get home and generally fall asleep straight after tea for half an hour. I'm in bed usually by 9 and I'm lucky if I see past 10pm. It's a kind of tiredness I've never felt before, I can't seem to muddle through it so I just give in where possible

Mileymoocow · 24/05/2016 18:50

In fact OH has left for nightshift, I've had a quick bath and am now about to get into bed and read for a couple of hours Blush

PotatosMum · 24/05/2016 19:06

Miley glow? What glow? I saw no glow? Hmm on the odd occasion people tell me I'm looking well I really do want to tell them to sod off.

Leonie I'm shattered by 1pm at the moment.

Another one here who's already in bed Blush most nights I'm asleep before OH has finished faffing about on his guitar. (Quite an accomplishment as he plays at his desk in the bedroom)

Really miffed, I need to wear a size 18 bottom at the moment and it's making it impossible to find jeans that fit as I also need them to be short. I finally found a pair on ASOS and was so excited about them arriving later this week... Just had an email to say they're out of stock and no idea when they'll be back in Angry I'm a 16 top so all my size 18 maternity dresses look really frumpy on me Sad

OP posts:
leoniethelioness · 24/05/2016 19:06

Miley I'm the same. Up at half six, leave for work at eight, worn out by four, desperate to leave by five... Short burst of energy after eating tea and then in bed (often asleep) at nine! I'm only 22 weeks so I dread to think how I'll be later in the pregnancy. I'm planning on working until two weeks before my due date but starting to doubt I'll have the energy to do that...

Pinklily1 · 24/05/2016 19:17

I think the tiredness does get better ladies! I was shattered in the 1st trimester and early 2nd but it's starting to get better.

I'm managing to stay awake until 10pm most nights (rock and roll!). That's an improvement on my early pregnancy bed time of 8.30pm though Grin I get up at 5.40am three days a week but the other two working days I do snooze until about 7.15am, so i'm not getting up until later than a few of you!

For those going to bed to read - do you have any good book recommendations? I'm looking for a few to download for our holidays. I'm pretty open to most stuff, other than sci fi and autobiographies....

Pinklily1 · 24/05/2016 19:18

Potato, what about New Look or Dorothy Perkins for jeans?

Mileymoocow · 24/05/2016 19:26

pink have you read gone girl or the girl on the train? I like a good crime thriller Grin I don't do autobiographies or Sci Fi either. Really hope tiredness does get better, I feel like a right old woman.

Pregnancy glow really needs to get the memo. Bitch.

Feefeefs · 24/05/2016 19:27

I'm the same have had 9pm bedtime for ages now! Looking forward to some form of feeling even slightly better in 2nd trimester or even just people knowing and hopefully making some allowances

PotatosMum · 24/05/2016 19:29

Pink I've looked but no one does them short enough Sad stupid short fat legs! it's bad enough getting leg length right when I'm a normal size 14 but in a maternity 18 I end up with the hem dragging on the floor.

I felt a little mor energetic at the end of trimester 2 when I wasn't in bed rest but now heading into trimester 3 I feel like the life is being sucked right out of me Confused

PotatosMum · 24/05/2016 19:49

Oh and books, it depends what you like... A few that I have enjoyed were:

The book thief (historical fiction)
The hunger games if you haven't already read them (sci-fi fantasy)
The lady of the rivers (historical fiction)
Fairy godmother (comedy fantasy)
The host (sci-fi)
Freedoms landing (sci-fi)
Let the right one in (horror)
Memoirs of a Geisha (fiction)
A game of thrones (fantasy)

Ugh pregnancy glow. Nope! Although two people told me I look really well today. One said I make pregnancy look glamorous! Hmm I think she maybe was taking the piss! I feel like I look rubbish! And I was wearing a really odd outfit. All my preggo tops were in the wash and as I was seeing the midwife I wanted to wear trousers and a top, not a dress, so I could easily expose the belly, so went for a baggy pre pregnancy top I never wear.

I'm shattered again. Guess that's how it's going to be for the next 18 years Grin

Pinklily1 · 24/05/2016 20:04

Thanks for the book recommendations ladies.

Miley - those are both right up my street but I've read them both. If you liked them, yo would probably really like I Let You Go by Claire Mackintosh - i loved it.

Potato, i've read quite a few of those too!

shelbTa · 24/05/2016 20:09

No pregnancy glow here either! And my hair is like straw!
