PotatosMum · 09/05/2016 09:34

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Never mind, just Google it and it's the maternity examption card Blush

LisaTheSimpson · 23/05/2016 12:52

Miley, if it is the MatB1 form - let me know how you got it! Did you have to request it from the midwife?

LisaTheSimpson · 23/05/2016 12:52

Crosspost....

PotatosMum · 23/05/2016 13:15

You can request MATB1 from your midwife from 20 weeks. Just ask for it when you see her next Smile

Miley I've had so many blood tests I have no idea what's routine anymore. I had my 28 week appointment today and they took bloods.

Potato fx it doesn't kick off again. It would massively sick if it did.

I've just done the food shop on my own, first time in weeks and definitely my last. Pushing the trolley really hurt my tummy pain. I've just sat down for the first time as I've been doing laundry, midwife then food shopping and I'm shattered. Hips are having a rare good day hence me being more active but I will pay for it later.

Anyone else joining me in the collapsing arches and growing feet fun? I've grown out of a few pairs of shoes and ouch my feet hurt, and I have swollen red arches where they're collapsing Sad

Potato I could do with tips on what chair to buy too. Also is anyone getting a Moses basket or something for baby to have downstairs daytime naps in? My SIL has given us her Moses basked but I'm not keen on using it. I'm trying to find an alternative but got a bit stuck.

Laurenrl · 23/05/2016 13:40

bunch PIL bought us a snuzpod as I wanted to sidesleep whilst the baby was little, the top comes off for me to take downstairs in the day for naps etc then it goes back on its stand at the bedside when we go to bed, I love it so much but it was expensive and so would've just bought a moses basket had they not offered! Chicco next to me was the other option but you wouldn't use it downstairs, hence why snuzpod was first choice for me

PotatosMum · 23/05/2016 13:47

Bunch I'm planning to use the carry cot that came with my travel system for daytime naps as I want to try to separate day sleep and night sleep if possible but if that doesn't work it will be the Moses basket downstairs.

Wow you lot are chatty! And SO organised!! I'm almost 24 weeks and have bought.....2 babygros! And that is it! Smile I've been doing research and DH and I have booked a week off in July to go sort out our flat throw things out and buy things for nursery but just haven't bought stuff yet.

Ive just weighed myself - I've put on 17lbs. I think I put on a tonne of weight early with all the eating I was doing when I felt sick and my boobs grew insanely! But been putting it on fairly steadily since then.

Like bunch I have blood tests every week so no idea what is normal! But on the plus side I have a midweek appt booked for 25 weeks so looking forward to feeling like a normal pregnant person!

Speaking of which - TMI but anyone getting a LOT of CM? I know that's an early pregnancy sign for some but I never really noticed much early on. It's just been in last couple of weeks - creamy, whitey stuff. Anyone? Blush

I'd like to get a sleepyhead pod for general napping / chilling out in for baby. Think it will also go in the cot quite well so baby doesn't get overwhelmed by space when it's little. I've heard good things about them from friends.

potato - did they give you your MATB at 20 weeks? My doc said they don't here (London) til 26 weeks! I'm hoping the midwife will give it to me next week at 25 weeks. Hoping your pain doesn't start up again.

Hope you feel better bunch. Sorry I can't relate to feet growth yet. Really hoping my feet don't grow aw they're already a size 8! Shock

I didn't feel baby at all yesterday evening (normally really active in the evening) and I was freaking out a bit to be honest. It seems every phase of pregnancy there's another thing to obsess about (or is that just me?!) but little one is making up for it today and moving about loads which I love. Just so reassuring Smile

Anyone's belly button gone outie yet - when did it happen? Mine is definitely changing but still an innie. I have quite a deep innie so an outie will seem really weird!

LisaTheSimpson · 23/05/2016 14:52

Don't worry, Soda, I haven't bought a single thing! So you're more organised than I am!

I've heard good things about the Sleepyhead and was also thinking about getting one. Apparently it can go in cots/cribs, etc. so we could get a Snuzpod or Chicco as well, to use them together. And the Sleepyhead can just be used by itself, so could be used downstairs.

I sometimes follow this blog by a British model (www.theuphill.com/) and I like how she reviews the things she uses as it seems very thorough and fair. I've got quite a few ideas from there.

Potato - thanks for responding about the MatB1! I'm seeing my midwife at 24 weeks, so will get it sorted them.

Sodasoda · 23/05/2016 15:04

Thanks lisa, glad I'm not the only one!

Yeah, I was thinking the same re the sleepyhead - good to use in cot and on its own too. Also thought it would be good to take out to people's houses as a bit of a travel thing if it's baby's bedtime while we're out.

PotatosMum · 23/05/2016 15:11

Soda yep I got my MATB1 at my 20 week appointment. They didn't used to do them that early but the rules changed. If you tell them you need it for work they should sort it for you.

I get thick CM every now and then.

I have quite a deep in belly button and it's definitely getting shallower but I don't think it will turn into an sticky out one because I'm too fat

So done with today, I'm tired, I hurt and Potato has been kicking me rather enthusiastically all day. I think she either really likes or really hates the clicky sound from my keyboard Hmm
Oh, and she was really quiet yesterday too. I was a little worried but I think she just wore herself out the day before.

Yes bunch feet have gone from a 4 to 6 which are now tight. Had low arches anyway but definitely getting worse. All shoes hurt! We are doing well with feet/hips/pelvis etc arent we!

BunchOfBobs · 23/05/2016 15:54

Tell me about it Nev.
I jinxed myself earlier. Definitely overdone it today as my bump pain is awful, thank god I've got the tubi grip on. I know it was pushing the trolley around the supermarket and maybe the 5 loads of laundry I've washed and hung out .
I've just put away the next load of clothes I've got from my SIL, so that's Pip sorted for vests and sleepsuits until 9 months ish. Trying to decide what to do with the rest of my day as it hurts too much to sew- even with the pretty fabrics calling me.

I'm not keen on keeping SILs Moses basket mainly because she's left the tags on it (even after 3 babies Confused) and a few comments were passed over the last week that implies she expects everything back in the same condition. I just know the dog will chew it or the tags will come off etc and I can't be arsed with the added stress. Then I'm thinking I may just get a mini crib for the living room. Asda do one called Rafferty- it's a similar size to a Moses basket and costs £39.

Our bed is too high for the chiccos/snuzapods bedside cribs etc so we've gone for an ikea gulliver which we're taking one side off and clamping it to the side of our bed. It'll be up in 2 weeks time so we and the dog can get used to it. Eek I'm excited!

Laurenrl · 23/05/2016 15:59

That's so cute bunch it will be so nice having the cot up! I'm a bit gutted because the cat will be banished from our room once baby's born, and he's my first baby I'm many ways so he will really struggle with it! Thinking I should start weaning him off our bed now..

mayago · 23/05/2016 16:00

I've bought some nappies, which cost me 50p after using a coupon I was sent. I figure I can donate them if something happens with this pregnancy. It feels like I'm tempting fate really bring baby things into the house at this phase.

I am so excited! I've been sorting out my colleague's maternity leave (she had her baby early, in April) and have discovered that we do have a maternity policy, and it's 18 weeks at full pay plus SMP after this. I thought I was only going to be able to take the 6 weeks off at 90%. We're such a small organisation we use the same staffing policies as the university we rent space from. I'm literally dancing around the house!

Having two members of staff on maternity leave, even if we overlap by only a month or two, is going to be hard for my employer (we only have 4 members of staff..) But that's not for me to worry about!

Morwenna1 · 23/05/2016 16:09

I went for a Snuzpod off Ebay - half the price! Immaculate condition. I'll buy a new mattress etc. for it though. Seriously ladies, get yourselves to an NCT sale, or look online - you'll save yourselves a fortune.

Like Lauren I could use that in the day, but we did also pick up a Fisher Price rocker seat that vibrates at the NCT Sale too.

Just had my whooping cough vaccine. Bit more stingy than the flu jab! Hopefully I won't get side effects.

BunchOfBobs · 23/05/2016 16:26

Mor I'm an eBay queen! I've saved myself a fortune buying stuff on there. My whooping cough vaccine is Wednesday. Midwife today was brutal taking blood so can't wait for another stabbing sesh Hmm

No NCT sales near me Sad

BunchOfBobs · 23/05/2016 16:26

Lauren we had to do the same with the dog. He has now taken to sleeping in the spare room. But every night we have him trying his luck with our bed.

Mileymoocow · 23/05/2016 16:30

We have a moses basket for day time naps and a crib for our bedroom. The crib was my friends that she never used.

OH just told me I actually look pregnant today and that it seems more real now. Because spewing for 15 weeks wasn't a give away? Men, eh!

LisaTheSimpson · 23/05/2016 17:08

Bunch - I hadn't even thought about the height of our bed....what a good point. You've made me wonder now. We've got quite a high one, I think.

Might go home and play around with a tape measure! Grin

Pinklily1 · 23/05/2016 17:48

Lots to catch up on!

I got my Mat b1 form at my 25 week midwife appointment. It's a piece of paper rather than a card. You must get it around then as you need to send it to your employer for mat pay and leave purposes.

I had bloods at 20 weeks but I've got an issue with my platelets so I think it was connected with that rather than routine (I have bloods done monthly to monitor).

I'm horrified by the maternity towel thing. I read the back of the pack about five times as when I saw it said 24 for 2 days I thought i must have read it wrong.

Miley, we are going to the Gateshead one, just because we have a long-ish list of things we want and it's a bigger store.

potato, if the fibroid is filing up again, what impact will that have? Hopefully not more pain? My maternity pillow is called 'sausage' Blush
Just catching up with the rest of the thread.

Feefeefs · 23/05/2016 17:55

Stressed about it bigger feet as mine are already a 10 Blush so I need to get most of my shoes in Evans (few few shops do up to 10) they do wide fittings if anyone is struggling as do primark

Canters15 · 23/05/2016 18:08

What is this about feet?! Do they go back to normal after?! I have a sizeable designer shoe collection and will be gutted to give up wearing them!

leoniethelioness · 23/05/2016 18:09

I wouldn't mind bigger feet - I'm a size 2! I can only buy wide fit size 2 from Clarks or otherwise I wear kids' trainers.
