Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

All are welcome to TTC#1 grads thread #6

Sounds like a complete pita potato! Hopefully it'll all be a distant memory soon and will have been 100% worth it.

Oh constipation, my old nemesis Angry

Laurenrl · 18/05/2016 10:23

I'm having my first proper hormonal pregnant the day today, baby has moved meaning I can't feel her move like I did yesterday, I can feel movements but not the little kick twitches I've been used to :( of course this is freaking me out thinking things aren't ok. My 20 week scan being at 22 week is also annoying me.

Then I parked just outside work and got an email as soon as I sat down at my desk asking me to move it to the back car park as the director is in later and might want to park there. The woman who sent the email (his pa) saw me Park there and said hi, then walked in and emailed me! My pelvis hurts and I had to go back down 3 flights of stairs move it to the furthest car park and walk back up, all for if he might want it later!

Urugh! Need to chill- sorry for ranty post!

Good luck today Miley!

Sodasoda · 18/05/2016 12:12

Hope today goes well miley. I was really nervous when I came to the scan too.

I've just had a 2 hour refresher driving licence from 7am-9am. It was pretty stressful! Feels like I've done a full day's work! I want to be able to drive baby round when they arrive so need to get over it!

Off to consultant this afternoon so expecting another 2 hour wait Angry I'm going to ask to be put back into the midwife system as I haven't seen one since booking in. I don't really feel comfortable talking to the consultant about my concerns which currently include constipation, snoring and increased CM.... Blush

Hope it all moves through smoothly potato

That's so annoying lauren!

Mileymoocow · 18/05/2016 14:53

Everything went brilliantly, all measurements were fine and baby is healthy (though for awkward for the poor lady scanning me!)

No hope of accidentally seeing if we have pink or blue because little bean had their legs folded and was facing my spine using my placenta as a pillow!

Mileymoocow · 18/05/2016 15:05

Got a good shot of baby looking at the camera though Grin

Ah lovely miley Smile

It's funny that for both of us who didn't want to know sex baby was being shy anyway - maybe they have a sixth sense about not tempting us Wink

Mileymoocow · 18/05/2016 15:24

Just realised I have massively outed myself 😂 never mind! Yeah I was glad as she didn't ask us wether we wanted to know or not! She said 'we've got a fe...mur' and paused a little too long after the 'fe' I thought she was going to say female! I could have cried haha! Team vanilla is staying strong Wink

BunchOfBobs · 18/05/2016 15:33

So glad to hear everything went well Miley. Don't worry I did the same with my scan. If you want it taken down though just report the post and type why to MNHQ.

BunchOfBobs · 18/05/2016 15:39

Eek, first time I've felt them. Pip has hiccups Grin

PotatosMum · 18/05/2016 16:07

Lauren I'm sure baby is fine. How many weeks are you?
Sorry you're having such a hormonal day.

Soda it's odd you're not seeing a midwife too. If anything I've been seeing a midwife more often along with the consultant.

Miley so glad all went well and baby is looking good Smile

So, finally got the housing association to agree to do the pack... It'll take 3 flipping weeks and is costing me £300 though! Really worried it will mess up our time scales. They're also living in the dark ages and refusing to accept any payment except cheque.

What I really don't understand is why they couldn't tell me I needed the pack when I told them I had a buyer? Gits!

Midwife appointment went well though. They're still worried about my heart rate and I'm supposed to avoid exertion and stress HA! and keep an eye out for other preeclampsia markets. She also asked how long before I was going on Mat leave. When I told her 5.5 weeks she said good, that given my fibroid problems and other risks she thinks it would be better for me to take it as easy as possible as soon as possible.
When she checked Potato's heart she said there was definitely nothing wrong with her though. Heart is very strong and her heart rate is relaxed. Everyone who checks her heart rate says she sounds very content Smile

21 weeks potato, have been feeling her consistently for a week now and was just unnerving when it'll stopped, I can feel her now though so I'm thinking she had turned or was just extra sleepy, it's gonna be a long 19 wreks now with an extra sign to worry about!

Miley- yay congrats on healthy baby! Cool face picture!! Excited/scared for Monday!

Bunch- that is so sweet,, does it feel weird?

BunchOfBobs · 18/05/2016 17:23

Lauren it just feels like a gentle kick every few seconds. It's perfectly rhythmic though do nothing else it can be Grin

Co5mo · 18/05/2016 18:01

Catching up ... I lost you all for a while for some reason.

Lauren I'm getting exactly the same. Last week I was feeling lots frequently and now it's less intense and much much less frequent. I'm fairly certain baby has just moved as I was getting lots of right sided activity and now it seems more left sided. If they're kicking the placenta or towards the back I think we would feel less so I'm trying not to worry.

Pinklily1 · 18/05/2016 18:04

Glad the scan went well Miley and that you stayed Team Vanilla!

Hope you get sorted with the HA Potato.

Ive not experienced baby hiccups yet Bunch, I think it will feel bizarre.

leoniethelioness · 18/05/2016 18:14

My eBay Grobag arrived today - delighted! The first of my babygrows arrived too but they are first size and 0-1 months rather than 0-3 like advertised. A bit annoying but I suppose useful in case Pepper is small. I'm all set with 0-1 clothes now - I've just bought some cheap white multipacks from Tesco. They weren't expensive so I won't mind if they don't get much use. I've bought some more interesting ones in 0-3 months for when he's a bit bigger. Has anyone bought their baby a "going home" outfit yet?

Decorators have been and we are ordering new carpet at the weekend! We will still have two rooms to finish off but we'll be able to put everything back in the right place and decide what to do with them then. And I can start preparing the nursery! He'll sleep with us at first but I might end up with him in the nursery (it's currently a guest room so we're keeping the bed and working around it while he's tiny) if he's a bad sleeper so I want it to be nice.

Colleague has given me a lot of baby books to read so plenty of bedtime reading now!

Congratulations, Miley - lovely scan!

Lauren - Hope your little one is more active now. I thought I felt Pepper yesterday but it was very subtle - it felt like a kernel of popcorn popping? Is that baby?

leoniethelioness · 18/05/2016 18:15

Soda - Keep updating me about your driving - you are my inspiration to get sorted too!

Feefeefs · 18/05/2016 18:23

Followed a whole load of you on IG!

Lovely scan miley! Glad potato is so content potatoes!

I've got what I think is the beginning of pelvic girdle pain, sharp pinching pain in left bum cheek spiking down my leg, had it for about two weeks now but kept hoping it would go away on its own! Going to wait 2 weeks and ring Physio once work know I'm pregnant! Knackered

BunchOfBobs · 18/05/2016 18:30

Feefs that sounds more like sciatica. Physio will also be able to help though.

Mileymoocow · 18/05/2016 19:47

feef I second sciatica. Bloody awful thing to have, I feel for you.

Leonie I think we have a going home outfit but we keep changing our minds! I will probably have a fair few outfits for baby in my hospital bag!

Absolute shitty, hormonal mood today which isn't like me at all! I'm nauseous, bloated and constipated so I'm irritable as hell. Bath and early night before I completely remove a head from a set of shoulders! First crazy lady day I've experienced. I cried because OH asked me where his sweets were and I felt bad because I had eaten the last one.

mayago · 18/05/2016 20:48

I've had an odd couple of days. My parents are visiting, and we told them on Friday night. I think my mum started to cry a little - OH recorded it on his phone, but I'm not ready to watch it again on my own. I was worried as OH and I haven't been together for all that long. He's met the entire family and is well liked, so I guess that's helped. I've only finished a horrible marriage at the beginning of last year and I know they worry terribly about me. Anyhow, my dad was absolutely beaming and has requested a granddaughter! They only have one of those, and she is nearly 20 now Shock

A close friend (my EXH's cousin Hmm) has managed to guess I'm pregnant and shrieked and kissed and patted my belly. At not more than 6 weeks, I laughed and reminded her the embryo is still only rice-sized at this point. I thought belly-grabbing was more for further along in pregnancy??

Beautiful scan Miley!

Glad the house-buying is progressing Potato. Nothing is ever straightforward, is it?!

Feefs that sounds painful. Hope physio is able to help.

I've found a few of you on Instagram. I'm Malamay1, and have a lot of cat/food/random pictures. Only one of me since I've been pregnant I've just realised! 7 weeks today!

PotatosMum · 18/05/2016 23:25

Lauren the further along you get the less room there'll be and the more you'll feel. I can feel Potato near constantly now, even when she's not kicking she's moving or squirming.

I also get some weird sensations... For example on the rare occasion she kicks in just the right spot to the back it feels like someone's kicked me up the butt Confused direct jabs to the bladder give you an interesting sensation too Confused mostly she wriggles around making it feel a bit like I have a worm pressed against my skin Hmm

Leonie I've not bought Potato a going home outfit. In fact I haven't bought her anything but sleep suits and baby grows. I'm tempted to buy her something pretty but I also think that she won't really wear it in the first few months.

Feefs it sucks about the pain Sad

Miley I hope you got an early night and lost the pregnant lady rage. I've eaten nearly the entire content of our sweet draw including OHs Christmas sweets... I regret nothing!

May glad telling the parents went well.

For those of you using a kick counter. What do you count squirming as? Potato can squirm a lot with no defined kicks or punches, just movement. think she might be a bit odd Wink but I'm not sure if I should count that as one kick or count it as one kick every x number of seconds she continues.
Any ideas?

OP posts:
BunchOfBobs · 19/05/2016 00:05

Potato you don't count individual kicks, but periods of movement. So with Pip, he may squirm so I'll count that as one. Then I'll have 5 mins- 30mins of quiet then a prod and I'll count that as another. If he's moving constantly for 30 mins I still only count it as one session of movement. That's what the app said to do anyway and I'm getting similar counts every day so it's working for me keeping an eye on patterns.

ElleSarcasmo · 19/05/2016 05:49

Morning all! Bloody pregnancy insomnia. I've got 12 week scan and I'm bricking it!

I've finally joined Instagram and have added the few of you who have posted your usernames recently, my name ends with 1729, please be my friend! I've managed to add Leonie Feefs and May I think! I am super excited about seeing your bump video Bunch!

Thanks for your kind words Leonie, I just feel so gross at the moment. Hoping the glow will come soon 😂 Not holding my breath though!

Potato your housing association need a kick in the backside about the pack, how bloody annoying. Hope they get their act together quickly.

Miley lovely scan pictures!

Newmrs22 · 19/05/2016 06:40

Morning! I have pregnancy insomnia too. I could have had a lie in too Sad and I feel exhausted

Good luck with scan Elle.

miley lovely pic.

potato hope the housing association sort themselves out! They sound terrible.

I guess I should start using a kick counter. Do you just use it for a certain period? Last couple of days I've felt baby nearly constantly (basically whenever I'm not walking around) so I'm not sure I could face noting all movements!

leoniethelioness · 19/05/2016 06:41

Good luck today, Elle!
