Thread #6 - TTC#1 Grads - Sun roasted pregnant ladies

Summers here and bumps are busy growing. Scans photos are coming thick and fast and team pink and blue are rampining up their numbers.

We have new grads furiously POAS, second trimesters eager for their bumps and veterans about to embark on trimester 3 and contemplating baby size with mild terror apprehension.

The weathers to hot for comfort and our pregnancy aches, pains and symptoms are getting on our tits literally in some cases !!

Mine is up for dtd however he sometimes doesn't finish, and he said it's because he suddenly remembers theres a baby there and it puts him off... Men!

I'm wondering if Dh will go off me as I get bumpier now, he keeps saying I look preggers in the belly, I can't see it myself. Doesn't seem to be making a difference yet though....yet!

Did anyone have like what felt like 'white noise' in their bellies? I was trying to explain it to dh, not like pins and needles cause it's not painful, but literally like white noise, static, it's so odd. Different to stretchies or wind.

Pink that's annoying about the different rules from different spin instructors but I imagine it's down to different experiences. Just do what you feel comfortable with.

OH and I are getting iPone 6s each once the mortgage has gone through. We're both solid iPone users though.

Bunch if it's not one thing it's another! I've been lucky on the water retention so far so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Right, I'm off to work today. I have 6 weeks left before my holiday starts. Not sure how I'm going to cope or whether I'll make it without something else going wrong but I'm going to try. tbh I'm not even sure I'll make it through the day!

Congrats to all the team announcements!! I can't wait for my 20 week scan and am definitely finding out.

starjy - yes! I started feeling exactly that from about 12 weeks and it's got stronger at about 15 weeks I was pretty certain it was baby moving because of the distinct patterns to it. I haven't been able to describe it, but when I read your description I though 'yes!'. Where I felt it was also exactly where baby was laid at my 16 weeks check up with the Doppler. So I reckon that's your little baby. I really hope you find your scan on Friday the wonderful experience I did. For me it was the game changer.

Bunch I've just seen your baby dancing video. It's amazing!! Pancake's movements are definitely getting stronger, but not so that DH can feel them yet. Can't wait until s/he is having a proper boogie in there.

Leonie I'll follow you on insta now. My profile is a weird mishmash of stuff, and haven't posted anything baby related yet. As soon as we start buying things that will change though!

We've finally had an offer on our flat, but it's a fair bit under the asking price. Have to chat to the financial advisors to see what sort of a position we're in if we accept. I think we'll be OK, but it's not quite what we hoped for. This was the 38th viewing though, so am loathe to turn it down in case we don't get any more offers for months! One more viewing today from someone who knows there's been an offer submitted, so we'll see if they like it enough to beat it.

Potato have you had your agreement in principle yet? It took us about 2 weeks after that to get the mortgage offer.

Only 2 days til my 12 week scan...it can't go quick enough!

planet, it's difficult when you get a lower offer. I had that when I sold a flat a few years ago and decide to accept it and cut my losses and move on. It was a difficult market at the time so I was concerned about passing up on a buyer when I didn't know when the next viewing/ offer would come along. Fingers crossed your viewer today makes a higher offer anyway!

I'm 25 weeks today Can't wait to hit 26 weeks - 6 months will feel like a real milestone.

I've just had my first proper seat offer on the train from a lovely man. I was a bit embarrassed, I wasn't really sure whether to accept or not, but so pleased for a seat as its packed and baking on the train.

Please please please can someone recommend me some maternity tights? I've worn two Mothercare pairs for the first time this week and each has developed a hole in the crotch region! It's not even nine o'clock! What am I doing wrong?! This never happens with my ordinary M&S tights. I can't afford to buy a new pair each time as I wear tights about 4 days a week. I'm going to complain to Mothercare about their poor quality tights but I need replacements! Help!

lara I just cried reading that! That's exactly what I mean! I'm so glad, I'm really really hoping for a positive good thing at the scan, I'm trying to set my mindset to neutral but I'm swinging between excited and terrified!

potato it's so weird trying to describe it, white noise was the best thing I could come up with! You know that feeling when you've had pins and needles in your foot and the pains gone but you can't quite feel your foot yet but you know it's there because you can move it, and it's the weirdest feeling ever! It's sort of like that! I can feel...something, but i can't on it and I'm not explaining it very well. Like silent crackling but instead of noise, movement? I give it lol I'm rambling!

leonie I got some mat tights from debenhams and they're pretty good so far!

I've followed all of you that have started following me back on Instagram! Might start putting some baby stuff up soonnow we've told most people.

I think my DH is a bit of a perv, he likes me curvier so is loving my expanding figure. I do wonder if that will hold true when I am heavily pregnant but we shall see.

Ah Potato aka Runner !!! Ah, you were one of the very first grads, weren't you?! I remember you talking about your worries about how your little one would fit in the extended family so lovely to hear about the cardigan!... I wonder if I can convince my Mom to pick up her knitting needles...apparently she used to be very good!

5+4 here... It's going so slow!! I'm glad work is crazy busy at the mo to distract me! Last two mornings have felt a little pre -nauseous while standing on the tube (you know that saliva feel in your mouth). Trying to eat something before I leave the house...really not looking forward to my porridge this morning though. I love my Food!!! This is gonna be the hardest bit for me!! 2 weeks until I tell someone...my sis. Can't wait!!

I got some maternity tights from M&S which are rubbish and fall down! I've also got some from jojo maman bebe which are pretty good - they are doing 2 packs of 2 pairs of tights for £12 which I didn't think was too bad.

It's funny isn't it pink? Every stage I get to I keep thinking 'ooh I really want to get to X week, that'll feel real then' etc! I'm 23 weeks tomorrow and I've been seeing 24 weeks as my next big milestone as that's when baby is viable (sounds a bit grim saying it that way).

For those of you that can see their belly move when did that start? I can feel definite movement and DH can feel it too but yet to see anything!

Oh speaking of maternity tights, where have people found the best maternity work clothes? I've stumbled across jojo maman bebe which looks good. As we're hoping to have a second kid I'd like to invest in a couple of good quality trousers or dresses. Oh, and a good pair of skinny dark blue jeans?

Soda I started seeing movement around 25 weeks ish! My tummy undulated one evening, it was a bit strange! When LO kicks now you can see it..

Has anyone looked into Hypnobirthing? I'm reading a book all about it, and it sounds amazing. Just wondering if anyone else is interested in it, or planning to use the breathing methods....I wasn't thinking of attending classes, so I don't know how effective it would be unless I practised lots. Apparently you're not meant to 'push' before the baby is ready, and you use breathing to just allow your body to do what it's designed to do!

mor I still pretty much have my head in the sand about labour, I'm kind of just hoping it happens and I just cope with it instead of being prepared.
