Erica my first baby also, but I would ring the maternity unit and explain and see if they want you in to check you over or not. Try not to worry though!

Sophia1984 · 30/05/2016 16:00

Not to add to your freaking out, Erica, but it's maybe worth giving the hospital a ring and letting them know - if you ring the antenatal clinic you can normally speak to a midwife. It'll calm your nerves if nothing else. I think the combination of that with contractions (even if they are BH) and cramps means it's best to check it out x

EricaPrimrose · 30/05/2016 16:13

Thank you everyone! Going to give them a call now, back pain has eased a little, hoping baby is just 'settling' into my pelvis Confused
I'll ring and explain, and let them know I do have a midwife app first thing tomorrow, so can get checked over then if need be! Flowers

OwlinaTree · 30/05/2016 16:46

I think the plug can re form, I'm sure someone else posted a link about this before.

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 30/05/2016 21:47

erica I think owl is right and the plug can reform over time. You should give them a ring just incase though. They might want to see you given that you are also having braxton hicks. Let us know how you get on.

peardrop2 · 31/05/2016 06:00

owl oooo you wear two vests at the same time? Still not getting this Blush

Erica I hope you're OK? Sounds scary but I hope it's a minor issue and you're now in safe hands!

peardrop2 · 31/05/2016 06:03

allergic thanks for the tip. I had to stop swimming a few weeks a go when they found I had a cervical ectropion but now it's calmed down maybe I can start again. I've just got DH to massage my ankles which has helped a bit.

OwlinaTree · 31/05/2016 07:42

No I don't know why I said 2 vests! Just one vest under whatever top you are wearing, then pull the vest down and lift the top up.

peardrop2 · 31/05/2016 08:00

Owl ha ha... OK got it Wink

PickleBot · 31/05/2016 10:03

Morning all, sorry for being away. Holiday is continuing in a nice leisurely fashion. We'll except yesterday when Ds got an upset tummy...so glad our tenthouse has a toilet! It all came to a head last night with a huge thunder storm and ds puking and screaming because it was burning his mouth. This morning he us back to his usual annoying self so I'm guessing he's feeling better!

Erica I hope you've been checked out and all is well.
Those with annoying dp/DH issues...I sympathise, but I think we are probably being very annoying too!

EricaPrimrose · 31/05/2016 12:02

All okay! Not in labour! Grin It was my mucus plug though, so need to take it easy and if I start getting contractions or more pain in my back, I need to go to the hospital Blush
Might pack a bag just in case haha

Sophia1984 · 31/05/2016 12:48

Phew! Good news Erica :-) Well spotted and hopefully it'll regrow now!

Mslg · 31/05/2016 15:12

Hi all, made it to Cape Town in one piece as opposed to two! It's so amazing here.

I'm in so much pain though 😢 I have a shooting pain in my left butt cheek which radiates into my leg. The severity of pain comes and goes, some times I'm ok with walking and I get twinges but other times I feel like I literally can't move with the pain. What on earth is it? Sciatica or something pelvis related? It's complete agony 😞😢

Hello everyone!

Sorry have been a little AWOL, currently juggling 2 freelance projects which is keeping me nice and busy.

mslg glad you have made it in one piece!! Your pain sounds like sciatica if it's more nerve / shooting rather than a dull ache. Try using a tennis ball, lie on it and massage around your sacrum / coccyx area very slowly to relieve any pressure there, you may get some 'pops' of relief. Then, deeply massage your thigh muscles on both sides with your fingers and some body oil (I use coconut), as it sounds like you have tightened up and this will all add to the pain. It happened to me after a long haul flight, very uncomfortable until I started this routine! Here is a great tutorial - Hope that helps you a little!!

Erica what a relief, make sure to take it easy.

Weather in London is so miserable today, longing for the sofa and a chance to put my feet up.....31+4 today...it's going so quickly !!

bexh83 · 31/05/2016 19:36

Erica sounds like its feet up time, big time!

Very jelous of Mslg and Pickle on their hols this week, even with the traumas of poorly children and shooting pain.

30+3, starting to feel really tired again - so we are back to my OH tutting if I cant be arsed with anything other than working full time, commuting 2.5hrs a day, taking the dog to run around at 10pm, bed after 11 and am not nice as pie in the process.

bexh83 · 31/05/2016 19:40

Anyone more "off" their food in the third trimester?

Ive made a bunch of decent meals recently and cant face them at all.
Unless its chocolate, yogurt, avacado, eggs im not interested.

Lou2711 · 31/05/2016 19:45

Bex I know exactly what you mean with the food!! I just feel like I'm eating to stay alive and keep bubs happy mainly!

LotsofDots · 31/05/2016 20:10

Hi all, glorious weather here in sunny Scotland for once - 20-22 degrees all week so far! if it stays st this temperature and doesn't get hotter, we'll have a lovely summer, it's perfect!

I had a growth scan last Thursday and all was well, baby entirely normal sized but lying transverse st the moment, which might be why my bump is gaining so many bloody comments. I can now retort with impunity that no my baby isn't massive and my bump is the right size thanks very much. SO fed up of the pass-remarkable people in the world!

plimsolls · 31/05/2016 22:17

Hello. There is so much to catch up on and I'm going to fail miserably at replying. I hope everyone is well and are enjoying (or have enjoyed) their holidays. Sorry to those of you who are in pain and fed up. Not so long to go now. erica I'm glad all is well sans plug!

I want to do a proper catch up and reply post soon but for now I'm using you all for advice:
I've got horrible symptoms which point to anaemia (racing heart, skipping heart beat, etc). Have checked with midwife- I'm not seeing her til Friday but she said I can just take supplements straight away- does anyone have a recommendation for a good iron one? Id like something that is quickly and easily absorbed if possible as I can't bear the heart-based symptoms!

I'm going to repeat myself on the Facebook group too- sorry!

Anyway Cake Flowers Chocolate to you all.

PeanutSmuggler2013 · 31/05/2016 22:49

Hey plimsolls - Floradyx is great, it's liquid so absorbs really thoroughly and doesn't back you up Blush

Could I join your group please ladies?!? Due 16th August with our second, and been veeeery slow off the mark this time around. No NCT either and really fancy chirping with ladies due around the same time!Smile

Shanster · 01/06/2016 02:20

Hello, I'll sneak in with PeanutSmuggler as a newbie please! I'm 27+2 with my third, and starting to feel very large. I live in the US and temps here have just hit the 30s, so I have a long sticky summer ahead!!!

AlfieTheRailwayCat · 01/06/2016 06:50

plimsolls I've just been diagnosed anaemic - the heart symptoms are the worst! I've been put on a high iron liquid on prescription. Without prescription I would recommended spatone though - it's just iron and Vit C I think so you can still take your preg vits.
If they want to press one you iron tablets once you bloods are done then I would ask for liquid - it's much kinder on your digestion!

Longtimelistener · 01/06/2016 11:06

Welcome Peanut and Shanster Smile

Plimsolls I second Spatone. Every midwife/consultant I've dealt with in both pregnancies has always said to try that first before prescription iron tablets. It's apparently absorbed better and a lot kinder to your digestion. Not sure you'd be able to get it on prescription though.

Also feel like I've got loads to catch up on as not had a chance to post for a few days. I'll try and have a proper catch up later but in the mean time, Erica I'm glad everything is okay re your plug. Hope you're getting a chance to take it easy. Mlsg hope you're feeling better. Have you had the pain checked out yet?

Christinedonna · 01/06/2016 11:31

I'm going to make a doctors appointment tomorrow as it's driving me insane!! But does anyone want to hazard a guess as to what's causing greeny/yellow discharge and itchiness? I've been using my canesten cream but it doesn't seem to be helping

Slothlikesundays · 01/06/2016 11:34

Lotsofdots that's good to hear. I've been in for fetal monitoring today and have to have a growth scan next week as my bump is small. Baby was transverse on 20 week scan so maybe that's why?!
Is anyone else getting pelvic problems? Struggling to walk and getting a bit fed up that's the way it's going to be now for the next 11 weeks.
