Biking I'd get some newborn things. Even with growth scans I still couldn't believe DD wouldn't fit into 0-1 or 0-3 Hmm It all just looked so tiny. But this was her in 0-3, bless her little cotton socks

sambababy · 04/05/2016 16:32

Actually I think that vest was smaller than 0-3...

DC2 is currently trying to break open my ribs oucheeeeeeee

sambababy · 04/05/2016 16:33

Oh I should mention she wasn't small in terms of length, head circumference etc, she was just skinny. I guess if the baby might be small all over you could need tiny baby x

Eastend2015 · 04/05/2016 17:04

Ahh so cute Samba!!

DH and I did an NCT/ Red Cross baby first aid course last night (highly recommended) and one couple brought their 3m old along, she was so cute! 3 hours and she must have been fussing for a sum total of 5 minutes, otherwise just gurgled and batted her eyelashes at everyone. I want one of those!!

bikingintherain · 04/05/2016 18:22

samba! How beautiful! Right I will definitely get some smaller clothes. I can utterly relate to not really believing there's not much difference, even though I can clearly see I am much smaller than previous pg or other friends around me who are also very pregnant.

booked83 · 04/05/2016 19:24

*east you will get one soon enough! I'm first aid trained with the kids club I run its so handy to know!

I'm unsure on sizes my daughter was 5lbs 1/2oz my son was 9lb 05oz both full term! Harry is measuring at 5lb 09oz already and will be two weeks early!

MollieRos · 04/05/2016 20:48

Cartooner I'm struggling with insomnia- I wake up any time between 2am and 4am every night, and it always takes me a couple of hours to get back to sleep again. I'm knackered!

nehagarg annoying about the 24hour tape- sorry you're having to do that again. And good that they're checking your BP and urine- I'm sure it's fine but better to check.

My work don't cover mat leave (NHS), which means my poor colleagues just have to try pick up my work between them. But we're horrendously understaffed already so it just means everything will get more and more behind, and waiting times will inevitably increase. I feel really bad for leaving! I've been desperately trying to get as much wrapped up as I can so that everything is left in as good a state as I can get it. I only have 2 days left though, so everything is about as good as I'm going to get it.

I had another scan today to check that the baby's growing. I have to go for a more detailed growth scan as he's a bit small. The consultant told me "he's not the biggest baby, let's try and keep him in there as long as we can", which wasn't really the news I was after! Fingers crossed everything looks ok on the next scan.

insideout · 04/05/2016 21:57

booked you can get the urine testing strips from amazon they are about £5 for 100 . I used them from about 30weeks in my last pregnancy ( as did everyone else who wee'd in my bathroom! ) haven't bothered this time, mainly because I feel so well, apart from the itching that is..................

booked83 · 04/05/2016 22:59

Oh didn't know that! Lol no point now I'm so close to the end but good to know for future reference teehee! Grin

laughingGnomette · 05/05/2016 12:01

Gorgeous picture samba! I thought you'd had a surprise delivery for a moment then! :)
DS was 10lb and was way too small for his 0-3 things for a few weeks (he was very tall rather than chunky though), it does vary hugely from shop to shop I've found.
Sorry to hear some of you are having a stressful time with work hand overs. It's the last thing you want to be dealing with right now!
Mollie - I hope everything goes ok for your detailed scan. Some people just have smaller babies who are perfectly heathy :) there is still time for his growth to speed up though.

MollieRos · 05/05/2016 18:52

Had the scan this afternoon. The baby's not growing very well- he's dropped down across another centile line. The consultant said he wasn't keen to induce today (me neither!! Shock) but I have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks when I'll be 38 weeks to check his growth. If he's still not growing very well then they'll have to look at options. Not really the news I was hoping for!

JellyBaby26 · 05/05/2016 20:31

Ah nightmare Mollie Flowers

Sounds reassuring that they will leave you another 2 weeks though...?

I also have a small one, it's quite worrying isn't it.

I'm pretty sure I have a UTI. I had white blood cells in my urine yesterday so they were going to send it off, but no idea how long it will take now Confused

PoppetPants · 05/05/2016 20:46

How the bloody hell have I been on MN for so long and not realised there are threads for due in months??! I am due on the 2nd of June, can I join you please?

MadrigalElectromotive · 05/05/2016 21:02

Welcome Poppet. Smile

Mollie that sounds stressful and I hope you're ok. It must have been a bit Shock when the consultant mentioned induction today! Hope your little one has a growth spurt over the next few weeks.

Hope you don't have a uti Jelly. I had some white blood cells in my urine a few weeks ago but it came back clear of infection so hopefully the same will be true for you.

Anyone else finding themselves quite hot and bothered now the weather has suddenly improved? I feel like I've been sweating all day!

strawberrypenguin · 05/05/2016 21:24

Sorry it wasn't a good scan mollie at least they're happy to leave you another couple of weeks.

Hope you get results back soon jelly

Hi poppet

Torfhinn · 05/05/2016 21:38

That sounds really stressful molly, i hope the next scan gives you some reassurance.

All is quite here but really looking forward to not being pregnant anymore (not that i want baby to come now, just looking guard to having my body back Grin)

Welcome poppet

Torfhinn · 05/05/2016 21:38

*looking forward

PoppetPants · 05/05/2016 21:50

Thank you for the welcome :)

Madrigal, I am absolutely roasting, I love the sunshine but even when not pregnant I don't like being too hot. Currently feel like I have my own on board furnace and getting a little sticky!

Mollie - sorry to hear that growth has slowed down, hope the scan looks good at 38 weeks.

I am excited and terrified about having this baby. So want to meet him but we've been a family of three for 5 and a bit years and hope that we adapt well to being a family of four. Saying that, I really want him out soon, hoping to go into labour as soon after hitting 37 weeks as possible!

earlgreydrinker · 05/05/2016 22:01

Just catching up. It's getting exciting now! Must try harder to keep up.

Everyone's bags packed? My new change bag came yesterday - it's gorgeous Smile. I treated myself because I have been using the one that came with my pram for the last 3 years!

jelly I have had a positive urine test nearly every time but no UTI. Results usually come back very quick.

Anyone else experiencing stitch like pains when walking? Google tells me its ligament pain and I should probably slow down. I have had a v busy week at work plus my toddler to run round after. Hoping to spend the last few weeks sat still doing nothing in my office! I don't recall being this uncomfortable or hot last time.

pamplem0usse · 06/05/2016 04:49

Sorry to all of those who are having maternity cover issues. My works general disorganisation means they've only just appointed which means they'll be no handover whatsoever as only have a week left. Feel a bit sorry for the children in my class but have done everything I can in terms of writing their leavers reports (they're nursery age) etc... Getting my section date today too! Feeling a bit nervous about seeing the consultant as bump seems to have blown up over the last week and have a history of huge babies :s.

GinaBambino · 06/05/2016 07:24

Morning ladies!
Welcome poppet
Sorry to hear growth has slowed down mollie but at least they're keeping an eye on you.

I'm getting so hot! I woke up this morning literally dripping in sweat. TMI.

Hospital bag packed. Changing bag packed. Buggy is delivered today (at last) and moses basket is up. Think we're ready!

strawberrypenguin · 06/05/2016 07:28

Gosh yes, so hot at night. I'm waking up covered in sweat and trying to sleep mostly outside of the covers which I'm not fond of.

nehagarg · 06/05/2016 07:38

What a worry for you Mollie. Hopefully he will have a growth sport this week. Bit of a positive that they are happy to not induce right away.

Welcome poppet.

I get those pains earl. At the bottom of my bump usually i assumed it was ligament pain because it eases if I slow down or stop. I do walk/waddle quite fast so that might be it.

Loving the weather though I wake up dripping in sweat too. I findmyselfchecking temperatures for next week for when baby is here. Grin Going to spend this weekend putting up the chicco ans re-jigging my hospital bag for an extended stay. Nursery is stocked with nappies and wipes!

I am beginning to get excited now. Scan today to see which way the little monkey is pointing. Feels traverse. My bump is square instead of round!

MadrigalElectromotive · 06/05/2016 08:33

Good luck with your scan nehagarg.

Is anyone else getting shooting pains in their cervix? I wonder if it is the baby's head engaging. Very uncomfortable!

AmIseeingRight · 06/05/2016 08:35

morning and welcome poppet its going to be a scorcher this Sunday cant decide if to look forward to a sunny day or prep for a horrid time lol. off to see my consultant and hopefully get some news as to plan. as my bloods are back to normal they may let me get to 38 weeks but lets see what he says. Hmm

I start maternity leave on Wednesday so will finally finish all the little decorating jobs for his room that we don't get done this weekend - starting to nest Grin and excited at meeting my son soon.
