Wow! Good luck torf and mugoo!!!

strawberrypenguin · 28/05/2016 19:22

cartooner I didn't use any tapes and had gas and air first with pethedine a bit later as well. To be honest I would have bitten someone's hand off for an epidural towards the end but there wasn't time.

iamdivergent · 28/05/2016 19:39

I had gas and air first time round and nothing second time. They have dropped off some gas and air canisters but I'm currently planning to do without.

Don't have anything stronger as homebirth and didn't like the idea of opiates tbh.

I had gas and air pethidine and an epidural! The more I read about labour the more I'm cross about last time I was strapped to a bed no movement allowed (no reason for that in the notes and no one can explain why) and no new positions suggested plus a random "sweep" to get me fully dilated which meant I pushed too early and was knackered! No wonder I didn't deliver naturally! Anyway onward to number two!

Good luck mugoo and torf!! X

GrubbyWindows · 28/05/2016 20:28

God dolly that actually sounds like torture! No wonder it was tough!!!!! And no wonder an elcs appeals this time!

dollydaydream84 · 28/05/2016 20:52

Yeah I was very positive about midwife last time and how lovely she was but the more I've thought about it and read other people's experiences the more I think it was easier to keep me on the bed than try to move me into better positions! At the time it all seemed rational! I'd definitely speak up more a second time, so ladies if you want something definitely speak up and question midwives or ask them to explain things more.

How are you getting on torf and mugoo ? Baby cuddles are close!

cautiousoptimist1 · 28/05/2016 20:52

Wow, good luck mrsm and torf!

laughing I guess we could still be welcoming babies into July so I think someone suggested staying here as a bumps and babies group.

dollydaydream84 · 28/05/2016 21:06

yeah we definitely need to keep the next thread bumps and babies, I could be one of the last to deliver almost the 2nd week of July if I don't have ELCS and go overdue!

wigelspigels · 28/05/2016 21:31

Good luck Mrs and Torf.

When my waters went last Sunday 3 am the wee one was born 1049pm. I thought I peed myself as in my first labour my waters went 2 hours before baby was born.

Spock27 · 28/05/2016 21:59
