Thanks mugoo
This is my 2nd child so I really could do without major surgery, especially as DH is self employed so can't really afford to take paternity leave.
Plus I hate hospitals and had a bad time with the staff last time (natural birth but had PE so was in far longer than I would have liked).

Fingers crossed baby turns of own accord or the ECV is a success.

Of course CS has a place but had been doing so much to avoid ending up with one that I'm quite upset that I may end up with no choice.

MagicDucky · 28/05/2016 05:59

Was up a 5:30 this morning being sick. Poor OH then had to spend the next fifteen minutes cuddling me and calming me down because I couldn't stop crying. I'm so tired of being sick now. At least we're on the home stretch. Hopefully there'll be no more miniature breakdowns before baby arrives.

ILovePies · 28/05/2016 07:51

Good luck AmI have been thinking of you, hope everything is going smoothly.
mindful so sorry to hear you had a bad day... fingers crossed baby turns. Do you have any other support other than DH for support?
magic i really feel your pain, I'm still being sick. Only had a few weeks where I haven't been. Won't be much longer then hopefully won't have to experience it anymore!

I feel like an achy mess! DP has taken my two munchkins to Lincoln to get my DSS's so I'm enjoying the few hours peace before chaos commences! Another one symptom spotting here, I don't know how anyone can help it! Grin

bikingintherain · 28/05/2016 08:01

Not too long now magic. I had a friend who gave birth a couple of weeks ago and she gave me a cactus with a little note saying "hang in there, it really is all worth it in the end." I keep it next to my bed and when I'm in too much pain and have spent a lot of time in bed, I look at it and remind myself to hang in there. So wih lack of a cactus icon to send you, I shall send you some Flowers. And also I think it's ok to have wobbles and tears a lot! I'm doing well if I get to the end of the day without crying! may also be the crazy hormones

laughingGnomette · 28/05/2016 08:31

mindful - fingers crossed the checks come back ok and you can go for the ECV. These babies have a habit of putting us in situations we don't want or expect.

biking - what a lovely gift xx

strawberry and nehagarg - I hope you are feeling slightly more rested this morning (as much as is reasonable to expect with a newborn!).

magic and ilove - how rubbish that you're both being sick. As if pregnancy wasn't tiring and difficult enough!

This thread will be coming to a close soon. Do you think we should just move over to post natal for the next one (if one hasn't been started already)?

MagicDucky · 28/05/2016 09:32

Yeah it's not fair is it ILove? Everyone kept telling me it would be over after the first trimester but I wasn't with my first and it's not this time either Sad

Thanks biking. What a lovely gift!

Yeah it's just getting tiring now laughing thankfully not long to go. Poor OH is feeling guilty, obviously not his fault. He says we're not having anymore Hmm

dollydaydream84 · 28/05/2016 11:48

Thanks Grubby IlovePies Gnomette and Julie I'm going to have a chat with the consultant next week and see what he think, though I'm sure he will be encouraging VBAC but I know he will allow me to have an ELCS if I want one.

I'm so torn, I feel like ELCS will be safer for the baby but more risk to me and VBAC will be safer for me but more risk to the baby. Though he said last time I saw him that VBAC is definitely safer for everyone, I just don't know how it can be with my history! I'm fairly convinced I've got one of those pelvic shapes that don't birth babies well, DD never dropped, didn't properly engage etc. and I can't see this one doing it either! I just don't think I want the responsibility of making the decision its so hard!

dollydaydream84 · 28/05/2016 11:49

ILove and Ducky I'll join you with the sickness, I have had about 3 weeks of no feeling sick but other than that still sick occasionally and constantly nauseous! Into the final stretch now :D Hope you feel better soon x

strawberrypenguin · 28/05/2016 12:03

Sorry your having a rubbish time magic ilove and dolly
Got some sleep last night but feeling nauseous here too. Saw mw this morning and I check out fine though - she thinks I feel rough because my stomach muscles are really really seperated (over a hands width) nothing I can do but take painkillers and give it time. On the plus side my stitches don't hurt as much today and Bertie has lost very little weight so mw happy with him too.

mrsmugoo · 28/05/2016 13:39

I'm at the hospital getting checked - my waters went at 11am and contractions started shortly after!

bikingintherain · 28/05/2016 14:14

Exciting! Let us know how you get on. I'm still hoping for a live labour thread

GrubbyWindows · 28/05/2016 14:16

Oooh mrs exciting!!! We are rooting for you!

Torfhinn · 28/05/2016 16:48

Not to steal your thunder or anything mrsmugoo, but my waters broke about 1 1/2 hours ago! No contractions yet so it's a waiting game or induction tomorrow evening! Hope all is going well for you! x

strawberrypenguin · 28/05/2016 16:54

Good luck mrs and torf hope you both have nice smooth labours

LouLou030783 · 28/05/2016 17:04

More babies my god

MagicDucky · 28/05/2016 17:41

How exciting mrs and torf!! Good luck!!

iamdivergent · 28/05/2016 17:43

Whatever is in the water send some my way! 😂

MindfulBear · 28/05/2016 17:58

Good luck those of you on the way - how exciting!!

Is anyone else having trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep? I keep waking at around 4am and takes me ages to get back to sleep again.
On the plus side I've found the "mind the bump" & ""headspace" meditation / mindful apps very handy!!!! Amazing how they can eventually send you back to sleep! Headspace has a lovely man's voice that I don't find annoying. Mind the bump has an Australian lady which could get annoying but I always fall asleep so forget about it very quickly!!!

Cartooner · 28/05/2016 17:58

Wow this is exciting. Good luck ladies. I just checked your due dates and you are due the same 48 hours as me. But I really don't think having gone slightly over on all three of my babies so far, that there's much chance of going early, I'd love to though I"m sick of being pregnant now, I'd like to just get on with having the baby.

Has anyone managed epidural free without doing loads of hypo tapes? I've only listened to the natal hypno twice, I just can't find the time with suff on and kids. But I'd really like to manage without epidural on this my last baby. Just interested in thoughts. I feel like I'm more prepared this time, going to stay home longer and use a few tips I didn't the last time. Thanks.

Cartooner · 28/05/2016 17:59

Freudian slip on the hypo tapes.... feel like a hippo right now.

GrubbyWindows · 28/05/2016 18:11

Oh my goodness torf super exciting!!!! Synchronised pushing from you two tonight I hope!

cartooner I didn't end up needing any pain relief at all last time, partly sheer luck in that my body clearly labours reasonably easily, or at least did that time (hopefully I've not used the luck up!!!). It was an induction too, and just under 4 hours from starting the drip to birth.
A big factor for me was movement- I did all the different NCT moves on the poster in the room, and my midwife was incredible at suggesting things to try, and keeping my monitors on in unlikely positions. I felt it most in my back, and an apple came in very handy as an impromptu massage tool jammed in the small of my back against the chair back!
I also had a very very clear sense of when it was time to push, and at that point everything else became totally irrelevant- apparently I waved away a couple of offers of gas and air, but I don't remember that at all- I'd been quite looking forward to trying it!
I hadn't set out to avoid pain relief, it just didn't become necessary, movement did it for me, and it didn't take too long at all. I think if it had been a long drawn out affair then I'd def have needed something!!

GrubbyWindows · 28/05/2016 18:13

Nothing like posting an excessively long post twice- sorry about that!

Cartooner · 28/05/2016 18:39

Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it. My 3rd was the shortest labour so far and that was arriving full on at lunchtime and he was born 2am that night. I asked for the epidural at about 6pm.... so I tend to have the long drawn out affairs, failure to progress/descend for a few hours in the middle which the midwife says may be an imbalance in my pelvis but I've been on the ball and doing a few moves. i guess I can only see how it goes and try not to have a fixed idea about it going the same again! I'd like if my body was more efficient this time!
