Hi all, just catching up :)
Welcome poppet
earl I get those pains if I have done a lot of walking, which is most days! Should really slow down but there is no rest for the wicked!

I had my baby shower last night, I got some lovely gifts even though I told people not too! Feel very blessed.

All seems so real now! Started packing my hospital bag but need to finish it off.
Anyone else been suffering with BH nearly every night?

Good luck to all with appointments & scans 😊

PoppetPants · 06/05/2016 11:08

I'm getting BH but they tend to be during the day more, some can take my breath away but most are ok :)

Just been to my last birth choices appointment (was an EMCS last time) and I'll get sweeps at 38, 39, 40 and 41 weeks and will be an automatic section at term plus 12 so if I haven't gone already I'll have a section on June 14th. I'll be 37 weeks next Thursday so hoping he decides he wants to meet us and comes as soon after that as possible!!

GinaBambino · 06/05/2016 11:20

I wouldn't even know if I was getting BH! I think I might have it at night as I do get pains when I lie down.
I have acid reflux at night which is bloody awful and now I sleep mostly between 10 -12 then awake for an hour then asleep till 4 then asleep until my alarm goes off at half 6. Think I know when feeding times will be Smile

ILovePies · 06/05/2016 11:33

poppet I think I may ask for the same at my next VBAC app. I really really don't want the drip again... I desperately want a natural birth but don't want to put my body through that again so if go over by 12 days might just say get bubba out by section!
Oh no gina do you have anything for the reflux? It's horrible!

GinaBambino · 06/05/2016 11:54

Ilovepies I just drink water until it goes, but it doesn't happen all the time. It's bloody awful though!

Aww poppet at least you have a deadline date!
I've got an appointment Tuesday to discuss birth plan and what's going to happen and I'll be 36 weeks then, it's really flown by!

Torfhinn · 06/05/2016 13:11

Woke up with period-like pains at 4am... exciting that my body is getting ready for labour! Have bought my stretchy wrap today (yay!) and will hopefully pack my hospital bag tomorrow Grin

I get shooty cervix pain as well madrigal - i think it's baby having a rummage down there. I remember the same with DS, not nice!

GinaBambino · 06/05/2016 13:13

Ahh ok thanks Torfhinn I get those too so I'm guessing it's the same!
ooh we're getting a baby carrier next week I think for DP more than me. I want a stretchy one, which one did you go for?

Torfhinn · 06/05/2016 13:18

I went for the Boba stretchy wrap in the end, reviews seemed to suggest the fabric was nicer than the Moby. Will probaby upgrade to a Boba 4g or Connecta when baby is a bit older, but can't wait for little squidgy baby all wrapped up next to me!

nehagarg · 06/05/2016 13:25

Scan done. All well. Baby is in good position for normal birth and my liver and gall bladder look well too.

He is measuring 6.2 pounds already. Thats huge for an Indian baby at 36+4. I was born at 39+6 and I was 5 pounds!! We'll see how big he is when he arrives. Smile

Sonographer couldnt see his heart properly because of the way he was lying so they have stuck me on another CTG. Thank God for the reclining chairs they have in the MDU. Its comfy!

All systems go for induction on Tuesday! I am getting excited now. Cant wait to meet little Rishi Taj Gupta. Grin

Aww nehagarg you sound so ready for him now! Great news that the scan went so well and such a lovely name!

strawberrypenguin · 06/05/2016 13:37

Great news on the scan nehagarg sounds like you're all set!

nehagarg · 06/05/2016 14:18

Smile Thanks both. Actually looking forward to this baby now. Funny how quickly feelings change.

I think having finalised his name also plays a big role.

Rishi means wise and Taj means crown. Taj is also my Iranian granny's name so it makes me happy to have something from both my Indian and Iranian sides. All short enough and pronounceable enough. Only took 7 months. Lol

That's a beautiful name neha, i love it! Glad the scan went well, so excited for you - this time next week you'll be having newborn cuddles!

laughingGnomette · 06/05/2016 15:00

Fantastic news nehagarg!! Beautiful name too. Do you have much left to do before he arrives?

Sooooo jealous of those of you on Mat leave now!

Did anyone watch OBEM this week? I felt tearful about the lady who got her natural birth after 2 EMCS. Her determination was inspiring. I really wish I had that much faith in my body.

ILovePies · 06/05/2016 15:33

nehagarg fantastic news :) and what a beautiful name! How exciting.
Yes I did laughing I cried when she had him, felt so pleased for her!

MadrigalElectromotive · 06/05/2016 18:09

Lovely name nehagarg! Do you have any plans for your final weekend as a couple?

MollieRos · 06/05/2016 18:52

Thank you for all the well wishes everyone.

Nehagarg that's a gorgeous name! And so exciting that you've only got a few days left before you meet him!

I get those stitch pains too, usually when I'm being too busy. Also the horrible shooting pains in my cervix. I've been getting horrible grinding kind of shooting pains low down too which the midwife said is to do with his head starting to engage. It's a particularly unpleasant feeling!

It was my last day at work today, yippee! It's very strange that I won't be back there till March next year! And this weekend is our NCT course, we're both a bit apprehensive but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Oh, and welcome poppet Smile

nehagarg · 06/05/2016 20:25

I knooow Torfhinn. Its such a strange prospect. Smile

Thanks everyone. Its beginning to get very exciting. And the gorgeous weather is only adding to the love. Smile

We are pretty much ready laughing. DH is going to set the chicco up this weekend and we'll both stock the nursery with nappies etc. Baby clothes have been washed and lined up neatly in the wardrobe (for the first and last time) Grin. Just need to rejog my hospital bag and pack for a few extra days.

Went out for dinner tonight Madrigal. Plan to go for walks by the canal over the weekend. Since there are loads where we live. Thank God for the weather

Urgh, I've got to that point where i know ill be sleeping better with a newborn than I'm sleeping right now Shock

laughingGnomette · 07/05/2016 09:07

Oh Torfhinn, rubbish isn't it? FlowersWine

sambababy · 07/05/2016 16:38

So exciting nehagarg, only a few more days! Love the name! Enjoy your weekend, try to rest lots too.

Booked sorry you've probably mentioned it before but how different were your labours & births with a 5lb and 9lb baby?

Mollie try not to worry (sorry I know easier said than done, I've been there). Babies can have sudden growth spurts. It's good they're keeping an eye on you though.

We still haven't chosen any names. 34wks today eek!

Eastend2015 · 07/05/2016 23:10

I hope you enjoy your last weekend as a couple Nehagarg! Getting rather swollen ankles and headaches this end. I think it's just because of the weather but at the hospital for my 34 week growth scan on Monday so will get them to check me over. BP has been consistently good all the way through so I don't think it's PE. Hoping to discuss being released from consultant led care too, fingers x'd!!

nehagarg · 08/05/2016 07:14

Oh no Torfhinn. Hope its just a phase and passes. Flowers

Eastend. I am getting the same. Midwife told me to drink more water.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. Consultant has written "Early pain relief" on my notes because of my Tachycardia. So my nice birth centre, water birth, gas and air led birth plan has now become a consultant led, labour ward, epidural led, induction. Lol. Not that I care at this point. I just want bubs here, healthy and safe but puts a lot into perspective in terms of how much control I have over this process. I think the only thing I dis have control over was ordering DH to bed when we were ttc. Grin

mrsmugoo · 08/05/2016 07:27

Beck to terrible sleep here too - hot and sticky, a bit headachy and the start of a sore throat. Not what I need!

But last week at work this week and then I get Tuesday-Thursday on my own at home resting while my DS is at nursery. Can't wait for that.

ILovePies · 08/05/2016 07:28

nehagarg please don't let them pressure you into things you don't want to do. The main thing is that baby arrives safely and you are safe. If you don't want pain relief you don't have to have it! If I knew now what I knew when I had DC1 I think my birth would be a lot different. Just go with what your body wants. You still have full control don't forget that! Flowers
