Agree with mindful, dolly! Do what's right for you! If the ELCS is what you really want then go for it, you don't need anyone's permission lovely. Flowers

ILovePies · 27/05/2016 15:19

Sorry meant agree with grubby!
I read eastends post then got all confused Grin

earlgreydrinker · 27/05/2016 16:48

Congratulations strawberry and mollie Flowers
I've had my leaving meal at work and a ton of gifts which as unexpected!
I have 3 mornings left next week to mainly tidy and file. My manager has phoned nearly every day, I think just to check I'm still there.

It's glorious here and I shouldn't complain but I'm really hot. Have been running around to sort DH's birthday card / presents today just in case this baby makes an appearance before next Saturday!

AmIseeingRight · 27/05/2016 17:33

Hi ladies, so looks like I'm going to be having a May baby after all. Had my consultant appointment and coz of raised BP & trace protein in urine, they have decided to admit me and are inducing today Shock. My doctor doesn't see any point in waiting until Tuesday. So FX will have my LO soon. As a FTM its all become real and scary at the same time.

GrubbyWindows · 27/05/2016 17:39

Good luck amI!!!!
That happened to me with my DS and it was all totally totally fine- much quicker and much less pain than I thought, and we were both in excellent shape. You never hear the good stories so I am shouting about it!
Good luck!!!

bikingintherain · 27/05/2016 17:57

All the best for tonight AmI. It is exciting that you get to meet your little one soon.

iamdivergent · 27/05/2016 18:14

Oh good luck AmI Grin

Torfhinn · 27/05/2016 18:17

Exciting news ami, i hope it goes smoothly for you both!

Nothing going on with me, 38+5 and I've slowed right down. Now labour symptom spotting although i swore i wouldn't!

dollydaydream84 · 27/05/2016 18:21

Thanks ladies! I think that's also what I've decided deep down! Though if I randomly went into a quick easy labour I'd be fine with that too. Will see what doctor says next week :)

Eek good luck AmI 😀

strawberrypenguin · 27/05/2016 18:22

Good luck amI hope it goes smoothly for you and you're having newborn cuddles soon.

MagicDucky · 27/05/2016 18:40

Good luck amI!

Just wondering if anyone has had any sharp shooting pains? I've been getting them today and they are really sore! Baby is moving around like normal. Just wondering what they are really.

laughingGnomette · 27/05/2016 18:53

Oh my goodness AmI! All the best for your induction.

dolly - I completely sympathise. Its such a tough decision because you just don't know whats going to happen on the day. Do what you feel most comfortable with rather than what you feel you ought to do. I've opted to try for a vbac unless I go more than a couple of days past my due date. The doctors have also reassured me that I can change my mind at any point during labour if I do go into labour before my ELCS is booked, so I know I wont have to go through hours and hours of fruitless, exhausting labour again. I think the most important thing to me is feeling that I have some control over the situation this time!

wigelspigels · 27/05/2016 19:00

Another May baby hope all goes well Aml - thinking of you Grin

laughingGnomette · 27/05/2016 19:00

Where abouts are the pains Magic? I've been getting them down below as I walk. I put it down to the ever increasing pressure down there!

bikingintherain · 27/05/2016 19:04

Torfhinn I am also labour symptom spotting. I swore I wouldn't but here I am doing it!

MagicDucky · 27/05/2016 19:34

Right up hoohah, but sometimes it feels like it's going up to/coming down from my belly button laughing some told me it's my cervix dilating but that seems a bit early I'm only 37 weeks tomorrow.

AmIseeingRight · 27/05/2016 19:36

Thanks ladies Halo I was told it takes a while but FX all goes smoothly. Hoping for a quick induction and thanks for the positive induction story for motivation

MindfulBear · 27/05/2016 20:17

Good luck ami

Dolly* do what your gut tells you to do or address what is putting you off a vbac. You know you and its only your decision. No one is going to judge you. It's a vbac so has slightly more risk than ordinary vaginal delivery.
OR just wait until you are full term and then make a decision. If you do go into spontaneous labour then hurrah. Give it a go. If not then go for the elcs - as I assume it is the idea of having to be induced and the inherent problems that is worrying you - just an assumption of course.
Best of luck and don't worry about anyone else. Birth is very personal

MindfulBear · 27/05/2016 20:21

Well I've had a bad day. Baby is still oblique - with bum towards my left hip and head up toward my ribs on the right - and I'm almost 37 weeks.
Not good at all. As the MW said "baby can't be born like that". So I have to have another scan on Tuesday and see the obstetrician to see if there might be a reason for still being oblique - say if there isn't enough fluid or a short cord.
It's very disappointing. I would do anything to avoid a CS!!!!! I've been seeing a chiro and a reflexologist and been doing inversions. I feel like my body is failing me......

Has anyone had their baby manually turned? If there is nothing wrong I might get offered an ECV.

JulieBolton79 · 27/05/2016 20:27

Good luck AmI exciting times.

I've had a few stabbing pains mucky but put it down to wind lol.

Neha I joined La Leche League group for my area and they all seem nice maybe there's one in your area too?

Dolly do what's right for you nobody else you know what's best for your situation.

Grubby I think you're right people have no idea about bump size and think any comment will do, but there's not much you can say right to a heavily pregnant woman so I've vowed now I'm not going to even try if I'm in that situation in the future.

I'm labour spotting too Hmm so far I've had nausea and frequent bm (sorry tmi Shock) crying all the time over absolutely nothing. I'm cramping a little tonight too.
Baby's head was at the brim of my pelvis on Tuesday so unless it gets a move on nothing is going to happen anytime soon.

mrsmugoo · 27/05/2016 20:33

Mindful - I've had an ECV. Unfortunately it was unsuccessful, they tried 3 times to turn my son but he would only go 90° and no further.

It was quite brutal and painful and tbh I'm not sure it was really worth it. My ELCS was great - super chilled, stress free and for baby number 1 the recovery is easy breezy. I'm determined for a VBAC this time primarily so I don't have a wound to recover from and a lively 2 year old!

nehagarg · 27/05/2016 20:37

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Will definitely seek out local breastfeeding support groups or the la leche league. Great idea on a second TT opinion too. Hadnt thought of that at all.

Good luck AmI. Here is hoping for a speedy and easy induction.

I am sat here bleary eyed. Rishi is fast asleep but I just cant get any sleep myself! MUST. TRY. HARDER.

Good luck ami!

strawberrypenguin · 27/05/2016 21:56

Know how you feel nehagarg hoping I can get some sleep tonight. My stomach and back muscles really ache, my boobs are sore and leaking despite Bertie feeding and me expressing, stitches ache on and off too. All in all I'm a mess and find getting comfy to sleep really hard right now.

emma85x · 27/05/2016 22:41

mindful I'm so sorry to hear you've had a bad day. If a cs is necessary, there are loads of really positive cs stories out there. Why are you so against one if you don't mind me asking?? Hope you're ok.

amI Good luck!! Very exciting!!

neha Get some sleep!!! :-)
