Try more water and more rest! Grin although I'm drinking loads of water and am sleeping 10 hours a day and it still isn't enough.

We are seeing the chief midwife today to ensure we are OK to be released to MW led care but we have the support of the consultant, my midwife and all the fetal medicine folk so hopefully that'll be easy. I am a little worried as bubs is still oblique but head down that I'll end up with a c-section but head down is a good start at least!!

clarish84 · 25/05/2016 13:02

Had my 38 week app yesterday told midwife that I've had spotting that I mentioned to the consultant the week befor and baby's movement had changed so got sent to the hospital to get monitored . Everything is fine thankfully like most babies he decided to start brake dancing one the monitor was put on me . They think the blood might be a water in fection so just got to wait for a phone call .
My dh was a bit gutted the baby wasn't making an appearance. To be honest I am a little getting quiet fed up now sweep next week so fingers crossed it works x
Hope everyone else is doing well

clarish84 · 25/05/2016 13:07

Also can't remember who it was who said the was craving chewing on sponge and I said with my others I'd had it but not this time we'll over the last 2 week I keep eyeing the sponge up and even having a sniff at the new ones managed not to chew it yet but the I keep thinking about it lol I thought I'd got away with it this time lol

Spock27 · 25/05/2016 13:32

Good luck Eastend, fingers crossed everything goes well and baby moves head down! clarish I'm the same, though I've got a to do list for around the house I'm fed up and just want baby to be here! Hope your sweep goes well :)

MagicDucky · 25/05/2016 15:44

Congratulations on meeting your little ones! They're all adorable I can't wait for baby Magic to arrive now!

Does anyone know, do braxton hicks usually hurt?

iamdivergent · 25/05/2016 16:07

They say they don't hurt as such but I disagree! BH tend to stay at the same intensity whereas if in labour they'd be getting progressively worse.

mrsmugoo · 25/05/2016 16:14

Just had 38 week appt - everything is all fine but booked for my next appt at 40 weeks at the hospital due to being a VBAC.

All baby things are ready so feeling pretty much ready to have this baby now!

strawberrypenguin · 25/05/2016 16:59

This little guy was born this morning at 1.30 after a surprisingly smooth induction! Weighing 6lb 6oz - he's called Albert (Bertie)

MagicDucky · 25/05/2016 18:06

Congratulations strawberry he's gorgeous!

I never had BH with DD, or at least never noticed them, but every night around 6:30 I've been getting painful ones. Only lasts about an hour or two then goes away. I know it's not labour because they don't get any worse. But it's so bloomin' uncomfortable. I'm not even term yet!

dollydaydream84 · 25/05/2016 18:27

Congratulations strawberry, he's beautiful. So glad it went smoothly for you and love the name!

Eastend2015 · 25/05/2016 19:31

Congratulations Strawberry! Lovely name and absolutely gorgeous.

So another 90 minute wait to see the consultant midwife but we managed to make the most of it by a lovely midwife support lady showing us around the facilities which was a bonus. When we did see her she actually spent ages going through my underlying conditions and talking about a birth plan. It may be of interest that she said using syntocinon to deliver the placenta actually dramatically reduces the possibility of post partum hemorage and also delayed cord clamping is most effective (for full term babies) after about 3 mins when the baby has taken its first breath. The benefits after that are negligible and can actually be a factor in jaundice. For pre-term babies it's different as more blood from the placenta can counteract anaemia.

laughingGnomette · 25/05/2016 19:41

I love his little thoughtful pose strawberry! So pleased it all went so smoothly for you. Big congratulations xx

GrubbyWindows · 25/05/2016 19:48

Ahhhhh congratulations strawberry! He's absolutely gorgeous! V glad to hear it was a smooth ride, yay for good induction stories!

Eastend2015 · 26/05/2016 00:33

Arghh just need a rant. DH has come home having been smoking. He knows the smells of it makes me feel ill and I strongly feel that it's such a disgusting unhealthy habit that will take him away from us before his time. He went through a really rough patch when he gave up 6 months ago and I had to deal with him being seriously grumpy. We didn't row about it but I've banished him to the spare room and now I can't sleep. I'm extra annoyed as I was just going to bed as he got in, all sleepy after a bath and now I'm wide awake and really pissed off Angry Am I being unreasonable?!

MollieRos · 26/05/2016 05:23

Congratulations to everyone that's had new arrivals over the past few days, and I'd like to add my own announcement! Our little boy was born on Tuesday afternoon- had a sweep on monday that did the trick! He weighed 6lb 2oz Smile
