It will be interesting what your growth scan says too Grin
I had a MW apt this morning and fundal height was 35 which is in the middle and what the link says too.
I think fundal height is very unreliable for some people though lol

cautiousoptimist1 · 10/05/2016 13:03

Interesting julie, mine predicts that baby is 5.4 lbs at almost 35 weeks and predicting 7.6 lbs at delivery. 5 weeks still sounds so far off to find out!

JulieBolton79 · 10/05/2016 13:07

Aw cautious that's good, it'll probably be off but I love things like this Smile like anything to do with baby it'll be interesting to see the end results.

JulieBolton79 · 10/05/2016 13:08

And it'll soon be here, I'm so impatient I want to meet my little person Smile

nehagarg · 10/05/2016 13:23

Thanks everyone. Have had propess inserted now and waiting for something to happen. Out of interest, is it supposed to hurt during insertion? I only felt a dull pressure at my cervix but I think the midwives not too gentle method and her latex gloves was what caused the pain.

Sat here thinking how i am going to deal with labour now. I am such a wimp. Blush

Interesting calculation Julie, DD1 was 4200g (9lb 4) and the calculator said for parity 1 the 90th centile weight was 4198g !! so 2oz (in old money) out. Says this one will be 9lb3 if 90th centile. Estimating it is currently 6lb (that goes almost half a stone towards explaining the 3 stone gain so far Blush Grin)

Good move strawberrypenguin I took mine off last time wen pregnant, couldn't get the things back on after I had DD1 due to fatter finers, after 9 months I gave up, decided I knew best, wore them and couldn't get them off. Trip to the hospital to get them cut off and save my blue finger! Sensibly had them re-sized at the jewellers since Grin

dollydaydream84 · 10/05/2016 13:26

nehagarg I didn't have it so can't answer but I felt extreme discomfort having sweeps before DD1 and wondered how I would cope in labour, your body just takes over, does its thing and you get on with it. You will be a trooper!

JulieBolton79 · 10/05/2016 13:32

Dolly are your fundal height measurements on the 90th percentile in your notes? It's a bit of a guessing game really isn't it?

Nehagarg I've had minimal internals added to my birth plan as I find them uncomfortable and don't want every man and his dog having a poke as some people are a bit rough! Obviously you needed it but you'd hope they would be careful buts just another day at the office lol

dollydaydream84 · 10/05/2016 13:41

Julie We have "personalised" growth charts here now (didn't for DD1) and fundal heights are sitting just under the 90th centile for my personalised line so in my case the calculator is quite accurate. Another bigg'un on the way I think. Will be interested to see what the growth scan says!

MollieRos · 10/05/2016 13:43

nehagarg you'll be great I'm sure (and as the midwife has said to me, one way or another, you're having this baby, so you don't really have a choice!! Grin) I'm sure once things get going your body will work out what to do. Exciting!

ILovePies · 10/05/2016 13:45

I can't remember it hurting nehagarg but honestly your body will know what to do! Don't worry too much about the pain & if you find you can't handle it take all the drugs you can get your hands on!
I hope you're managing to keep yourself busy. I remember being so bored when being induced with DS!

JulieBolton79 · 10/05/2016 14:00

Very posh dolly! Mines just a bunch of crosses on a chart. Sounds accurate to you then Smile 9lb 3 Shock wow X

strawberrypenguin · 10/05/2016 14:00

Some of the internals I had during induction hurt nehagarg and some didn't. Depended on who was doing them - if they hurt do let them know so they can adjust their technique.

mrsmugoo · 10/05/2016 14:13

Wedding rings off here too today strawberrypenguin! 36 weeks today and I just felt my fingers tingling a teeny bit yesterday so into the safe they've gone.

Managed to get mine on after about 10 weeks postpartum last time. Have found another ring that fits on my wedding finger for now as it feels weird with nothing.

iamdivergent · 10/05/2016 14:56

Wedding rings off here this morning as well! Got them on a chain around my neck for now.

Eastend2015 · 10/05/2016 15:52

Ditto with wedding rings! Bought shoes a size up too for my massive trotters Confused

nehagarg · 10/05/2016 16:18

Thanks everyone. Good to know that its really down to who does it. Hoping it will be someone gentler if I need another one tomorrow. Or I'll tell them to skow down. Midwife today sort of screwdrivered the propess in. No wonder it hurt.

No contractions yet but I am properly sore down there now. Feels better when walking so me and DH just came back from a 2 hour walk. Tried peeing and it was properly sore. Hoping its the start of something rather than the midwife and her screwdriver technique. Grin

My wedding ring has been off a few weeks too. Hands looks like pudgy balloons.

It must be the warm weather making everyone's fingers swell!

AmIseeingRight · 10/05/2016 16:53

good luck neha so exciting that you're meeting your little one soon Flowers

emma85x · 10/05/2016 18:20

Good luck nehagarg Thinking of you!!

nehagarg · 10/05/2016 18:21

Some activity has definitely started. Grin Its all in my back for now though. Midwife says he is back to back. Sad DH is going to go home and sleep in a bit so lets see what happens during the night.

Exciting!!! Could you go on all fours for a bit to try and get him to turn? This is what I was advised at pregnancy yoga, I'm not sure if it works though!

sambababy · 10/05/2016 18:32

Ooh exciting nehagarg! Lucky DH getting to sleep. Hope you can get some rest too.

Can anyone recommend any podcasts or anything I can download that they found useful for relaxation/breathing techniques in labour?

laughingGnomette · 10/05/2016 18:44

I've had a very busy baby today. Lots of moving around. I'm hoping that he has either flipped or is trying to do so. He is definitely in a different position with not such an obvious head shape in my ribs. Come on lad!

Went to physio for my PGP this afternoon. I was told that my back is way too arched and I walk like a penguin!! Blush so I'm going to make an attempt not to. A bit difficult with this huge weight in my belly!!

mrsmugoo · 10/05/2016 18:44

Yep definitely all fours to help with posterior position. But also contractions are supposed to squeeze them round for a lot of people.

Good luck nehagarg - keep posting for us!
