Ooh good luck nehagarg!

nehagarg · 10/05/2016 19:32

I'll try the all fours thing for sure. Just came back from another walk. Its so lovely and fresh outside. Luckily I have a window and now that DH is gone I can open it wide and not worry about him being cold. Grin

Good luck laughing. I really hope he is on the trip around.

Contractions are more painful now. Not too bad yet though. Quite lucky for this to have started on the first go. I wqs fully expecting to be here for another propess tomorrow!

Good luck nehagarg Grin

strawberrypenguin · 10/05/2016 19:50

Glad things are going well nehagarg hope the little guy turns for you.

Ha laughing that's where the 'penguin' part of my username comes from! I joined when I was pg with DS1 and DH had said I was walking like a penguin! Pretty sure I am again now tbh Grin

Torfhinn · 10/05/2016 20:35

Exciting times nehagarg!

bikingintherain · 10/05/2016 21:07

Great that they're getting started nehagarg. And it sounds like your doing all the right things by keeping active etc. Well done! If you can do try and get some rest, and a tip my friend gave me "in all the excitement don't forget to pee!"

MollieRos · 10/05/2016 21:33

It's sounding promising nehagarg! Hopefully things will keep progressing overnight. Hope the baby starts turning and you manage to get some rest too.

emma85x · 10/05/2016 21:46

It's my growth scan tomorrow. Last one at 33 weeks he measured just over 38 weeks. I'll be 34+5 tomorrow. Feeling nervous. I hope he's not measuring at 42 weeks.

dollydaydream84 · 10/05/2016 21:50

Good luck Emma!

Nehagarg - exciting times! Hope babs turns for you soon. Makes me feel a bit more excited now June babies are ok their way! Eek!

GrubbyWindows · 10/05/2016 22:59

Walking sideways up stairs is my top tip, opening up you pelvis, (that was me in the hospital fire escape for hours trying to avoid being induced last time... Still needed the induction, but it was quick and low pain) that and bouncing on the birthing ball.
I hope you are getting some rest now though neha, sounds like you are on track for being busy!!

MindfulBear · 10/05/2016 23:36

Good luck neharag

Good luck Nehagarg! X

nehagarg · 11/05/2016 04:32

Thanks all. Contractions havent increased in intensity. Hopefully they'll go up before its time to have another propess. But at least it means I got a few hours of sleep. Hooked up to CTG again now.

MollieRos · 11/05/2016 08:24

emma hope the growth scan goes ok today.

laughingGnomette · 11/05/2016 08:33

Fingers and toes crossed for you today emma!!

Glad to hear you got some sleep nehagarg. Really hoping it speeds up for you now x

laughingGnomette · 11/05/2016 08:55

Hey nehagarg, I've just read on a local FB group that tomorrow at 12:30 at the Whittington, by the maternity ward/chapel they are having free singing sessions open to all ladies on the maternity wards. So if you're at a loose end and still in hospital and fancy belting out some tunes then go for it! WinkGrin On the other hand, if you hear some strange noises that might be why! Grin

MagicDucky · 11/05/2016 09:37

Hi ladies,

I haven't been on in a month or two, my grandfather has been in and out of hospital so it's all just been a bit crazy. Hope everyone is getting on okay. Will try to catch up a little on the thread.

I did come for some advice too. At my 28 week appointment I was measuring 4 days ahead. I didn't get another appointment until 34 weeks and I was measuring 2 days behind. The MW has sent me for a growth scan today and I'm a little nervous. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Or am I just being a bit silly being worried?

mrsmugoo · 11/05/2016 09:50

4 days ahead and 2 days behind wouldn't even register at my midwife - it's measured in weeks and you have to more than 2 out for it to be a cause for concern. I'm sure everything is absolutely fine - the measurements are so inaccurate!

dollydaydream84 · 11/05/2016 10:00

Hi MagicDucky - I agree with mrsmugoo, if the measurements were out by weeks that would be a different matter. Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. Even the growth scans are really inaccurate!

GrubbyWindows · 11/05/2016 10:07

If the measurements were taken by different people yours are actually remarkably consistent- bump measuring is very very inaccurate!
And re growth scans- they are a good measure of whether things are changing (so they might want you to have another in a couple of weeks) but they are pretty dodge for actually estimating size. My DS had quite a few scans (including one the day before he was born) all of which said he would be bang on average size, and he was a 10 pounder. My friend was strongly advised to have a cesarian for her predicted 10lb first child (and she followed the advice, quite reasonably), and the baby turned out to weigh a shade under 8.

So please don't worry too much- it is all part guesswork!

PoppetPants · 11/05/2016 10:42

Morning everyone!

Nehagarg, how you doing? Hope you're getting closer to meeting your baby :)

Eastend2015 · 11/05/2016 10:53

So grumpy this end, a combination of a few nights of bad sleep has really sent me over the edge last night. Poor DH asked whether there was salad with dinner and I ended up having an almighty row with him with waterworks and everything, even the cats went to hide behind the sofa. To be fair, he also criticised the brand of tuna I bought and grumbled about unloading the dishwasher but a full blown teenage tantrum probably wasn't warranted. Feeling a bit sheepish today Blush

MadrigalElectromotive · 11/05/2016 11:05

I'm grumpy too Eastend! I think I'll blame the heat...

Magic I can't really offer advice but I hope your growth scan is able to put your mind at rest. It is so difficult not to worry isn't it?

Sending labour vibes to nehagarg...

Good luck with your growth scan today Emma.

Walking like a penguin made me laugh! I'm pretty sure that's how I'm walking too!

Well, a week today I will be in hospital, and quite possibly will have met my baby. Feeling pretty nervous/excited today! Shock Grin I really need to finish sorting my hospital bag...

Is anyone else nesting? I had a sudden urge to go through my wardrobe and get rid of loads of things. I never normally do this so can only assume that I've started nesting!

GrubbyWindows · 11/05/2016 11:43

Madrigal me!! I want rid of everything in my flat!!! How exciting - one more week!!
