Im up again, I wonder if this is nature's way of preparing me for sleepless nights.
I have noticed that when I eat more I do wake up at 4 feeling all bloated and hot.
It's such a slog to the end of the working week Ill be glad to have today over so Im over half way.

barking I don't feel that tired anymore either (and worried that something was wrong as well) but scan on Monday looked good. It's hard this worrying all the time!

Barkingtreefrog It's such a worrying time isn't it. Well I seem to be nauseous again this morning so maybe I just jumped the gun a little.
I'm sure it's all normal and it is just our bodies getting used to it. Like you say the placenta has probably kicked in for you now and giving you a small amount of relief.
Don't let them rush you at your booking appointment and make sure you get all your questions answered. Mine is on Saturday and I have already started a list of questions to ask!

This is going to sound completely mad, and I've always thought that women who thought this this early were imagining it, but the last three days I have felt something like movement. It feels exactly like the little butterfly kicks from my last pregnancy, and I felt it twice this morning and once yesterday and the day before. I know you feel it earlier with the second pregnancy, but it's not possible this early, is it? I'm 10+3. I mean, it's the size of a kumquat. I guess if someone threw a kumquat at me I'd notice, but they're not very big. I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks last time, I had an anterior placenta.

I had already lost my love for coffee (about a week ago I just suddenly couldn't drink it any more) and now it looks like tea is making me feel more ill. I've always had my last cup around 8 after DH has put DD to bed and I've noticed it's after this I start feeling really bloated and more nauseous.
Can't stomach the thought of herbal tea either.

This is fun.

soloman I think there is a medical explanation. The womb stretching or bubbles of gas or something. BTW - what size is a kumquat?

It's quite small, about 3cm I think? I get the stretching pains too and this butterfly feeling is in the same place, so if you can get bubbles of gas in the uterus that would make sense. It's really freaky, it feels so much like movement!

Soloman yes I'm 10+0 and had fluttery feelings last night. I'm putting it down to digestion and wind, but the baby was having a good wriggle during the scan on Monday, so maybe I am feeling movements!

I think I felt them around 17 weeks last time.

I've been sick this morning despite eating to try and stop the nausea, I HATE bringing up food, it makes me choke and panic
Got my appointment through for my 12 week scan, 7th of June at 8.55am it's a 45 minute journey and I've got 4 children to get ready for school/before we leave, my partner will have to miss a couple hours of work & take them while mil comes to scan. How fun

Hi everyone, I've just spent 2 days reading through all these posts!
I'm 7+5 first pregnancy. I had an early scan at about 5+4 as was going away for work to remote areas so wanted to make sure it wasn't eptopic. They couldn't see anything on scan, but did 2 blood tests and levels rising as normal. Have a follow up one on Monday to confirm location. I have almost no symptoms at all - no nausea - is that normal?
My boobs grew slightly at the start and have stayed bigger but aren't tender. I am getting head rushes quite a bit but that's virtually it! So am quite nervous for Monday.

Oh no Bigfam, that's so annoying about the scan time! I bet MIL is super pleased to be coming to the scan though

Welcome Firsttimer!

firsttimer my first pregnancy I had pretty much no symptoms and DD is perfect! No symptoms isn't always a bad sign.

Scan this morning was amazing, I saw it's stubby arms and legs waving away! I got a bit emotional. It's grown a bit extra and I'm 11 weeks now, matching my original dates.

sunshine and all those with recent happy scans it is lovely to hear - I had forgotten what a long and difficult haul these first 12 weeks can be, and the relief to see a healthy wriggly baby is palpable.
So sorry to hear of those who have had a particularly tough time

I feel like the positive stuff is on hold until after the scan - telling people, planning, even imagining (and certainly shopping, though I have given into the temptation of browsing the newborn section of our lovely children's clothes shop…). I have two more weeks to wait - and meanwhile am still constantly nauseous and falling asleep after collecting the boys from school. Oh, for a fast-forward button...

That's good to hear! It's great to speak to real people going through the same thing at the same time, rather than getting lost in the depths of Google which will make you certain everything is going to go wrong!

TinySalmon I am also st georges - seems really good, and I liked the fact you could self refer and skip out trying to make a doctors appointment! The walk-in EPU is also brilliant and I don't think offered many places.

Lots of pregnant women experience a loss of symptoms, most of the time there will still be a healthy baby in there! I totally understand you feel a little anxious (nobody tells you that early pregnancy can be filled with worry!), but the chances are that you&your baby are totally fine. I think around this time the placenta starts taking over and you are meant to start feeling better (waits impatiently for this to happen) .

Have you had your midwife appointment yet?

Hi hanch I am 8+4 and for about a week my symptoms seemed to disappear but they are back today! Try not to worry I think it's normal for symptoms to come and go.

Thanks Notaclue and Englishgirl. I did cry at loose women with Kerry Katona when they were talking to her two daughters, so i may not have lost every symptom as usually cant stand to even watch that show.

Yes i had my first midwife appointment yesterday. But i have a longer one in two week time, and not quite sure why.

Did they take blood at the first one? If not it was probably 'first contact' and the next one will be 'booking in'. I finally have a scan date - 3rd June. It seems ages away!

Notaclue, when mil came to the last scan for dd3 she started crying when we were told I was having another girl, the lady doing the ultrasound that it was touching until she noticed mil scowling at me for failing to have a boy I found it hilarious
