helga another one with belly button pain here. Seems to start early evening and continue until I go to bed at 7pm

readingrainbow · 11/05/2016 20:16

It's probably ligament pains, from stretching bigger. :)

Helgathehairy · 11/05/2016 20:41

stubble mine is worse in the evening too.

reading that's a good point.

Scan Monday so fingers crossed.

lilydaisyrose · 11/05/2016 20:56

Thanks for the congrats girls, I absolutely loved my scan, loved seeing baby dancing about and turning round, very active! Well worth the £££. Lovely scans stargirl South and errrmmm too and was it MrsJojo who left the pics in the car? Yay for us and our wee babies!!! I'm still a bit shell shocked to be honest, I was so geared up for bad news, I didn't allow myself to think it might be good?! I started to dream about names on the way home, first time I've really allowed myself to think beyond June.

Yes yes yes to the carbs. I'm not a big bread fan but today had a massive craving for tiger/giraffe bread, you know the kind you've got to tear with your teeth? For lunch I had a giraffe roll with real butter, a chicken noodle City Kitchen meal from Tesco AND some homemade pakoras and mint dip my colleague had made!!! Oh and some yoghurt and chopped banana. Then had to force down 1.5 litres of water for my scan - v tricky as there wasn't a lot of space left!!! I feel awful if I'm hungry and I seem to be hungry all the time! I had 3 weetabix and some chocolate biscuits his morning too - not needed any tea though, unsurprisingly! I seem to incredibly hungry from getting up til about 3pm then I'm full 'til bedtime.

Bigfam - can your MIL not come and sort kids so DH can come with you to scan?!

Welcome firsttimer16, great to have you here.

flapjackgirl and someone else who is 24 (sorry I can't remember who) - I was 26 when I fell pregnant with my eldest and 27 when I had her - it was a lovely age to have a baby, I've a feeling I'm going to be much more knackered this time round at my grand old age!

We need a new thread soon KitKat! Too much chatting! Thanks for all your work with the list!

Must go - OBEM time (although top.of my birth plan is going to be - exactly the opposite type of birth to a typical OBEM birth!).

Bigfam · 11/05/2016 21:08

I'd rather mil came to the 12 week scan lily, then dp can attend the scan when we find out the sex. I'm just hoping she doesn't suddenly remember and decide she'd rather come to the later scan Wink

I can't really eat a lot at the moment, don't get me wrong, I feel hungry and start eating but then I feel full so stop, then half an hour later I end up doing that horrific dry heaving thing!

flapjacklover · 11/05/2016 22:02

Amsterdam I am so sorry to hear your news our thoughts and prays are with you

ermmm · 11/05/2016 22:34

Oh stop talking about carbs- tiger bread sounds yum.
My meals these past few days have consisted of half a loaf of toast item jam- couldn't wait for them to pop fast enough I had loads😁, chips last night pasta today and chips agian😳.
Can't stand pasta usually make it for the kids only but was happy to munch through it for lunch.

12 weeks did feel so far away so glad I got the scan early.
So excited- only mum and or kids know- so kids are so involved lol. Told them the baby will be aware of the sounds around him/ her before he is born and they are both singing their names to the belly so baby will recognise them - would be fine if I was talking about young kids they are 13 and 14!!!🙄

ermmm · 11/05/2016 22:37

What I mean I didn't expect my teens to be so eager for a sibling- never been fussed about it before. But glad that they are looking forward to it.
Sure novelty will wear of with 3am crying and nappy explosions lol

nightcap · 12/05/2016 06:59

Glad to hear lots of others are having carbfest too, makes me feel better somehow!

My other pregnancies I couldn't eat much in the first trimester but this one is making up for that with pretty much constant eating. I get the gross taste in my mouth after eating too, so have to just keep eating. Mostly having fruit in the mornings (those pre packed melon and mango things) then English muffins, soup, crisps, cheese and crackers with chutney, yogurt, toast, big carby dinner and a bit of chocolate for pudding. With snacks in between, obviously... Unsurprisingly I've put on nearly 5kg already.

Is anyone else still drinking caffeinated drinks or have you cut them entirely? I'm trying to reduce it but can't kick my one cup of coffee in the morning, seems to help settle my stomach, weirdly.

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/05/2016 07:12

I'm still drinking coffee, think it's something like 200mg you're 'allowed' which in instant coffee at home is something like 3cups, I'm having 3 or 4 a day, my DS regularly wakes up at 5:30, sometimes earlier, no way in hell I'd still be functioning without it!

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/05/2016 07:14

Oh and I'm with you on the carb fest, bought a fresh loaf yesterday and had about 6 thick slices Grin am using MFP to chart what I'm eating as I went slightly OTT last time around so just trying to keep an eye on it this time, it makes depressing reading most days but at least I'll know why I've put on a billion stone!

Thisisbonkers · 12/05/2016 07:17

I'm a tea fiend normally but just don't want it. I don't want food or anything really. I've always been incredibly fussy with a limited diet so I think I just can't work out what my body is craving.

Woken up with a massive headache and I'm starving. That would probably be because I threw up my dinner last night.

TinySalmon · 12/05/2016 07:37

Yay firsttimer see you at St Georges!

nightcap I'm with you in the caffeinated drinks... Yesterday for the first time since I was probably 13, I had a can of full fat Coke. My body was just craving it - usually I like Diet Coke as a treat alternative to water.

I'm with everybody on the carbs! Not that I had a particularly good diet to start with (don't know how I've stayed rather slim with all the junk I eat). The only good news is I'm off sweets and really into my fruit! And this is coming from someone who HAD TO have chocolate literally everyday. It tastes funny to me now.

Bella1985 · 12/05/2016 07:39

Normally I drink tea all day so I've switched to decaff at home and limit my intake in work to 2 cups however I've not had tea in days, I just don't fancy it. Water is all I want right now!

BowSurprise · 12/05/2016 07:40

Morning
I'm 10+1 and have woken up with some pink blood after bad abdominal pains. Any ideas what I should do?

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/05/2016 07:50

Call your midwives Flowers

SouthDownsSunshine · 12/05/2016 07:52

I have one or two cups of tea a day, they help ease the nausea for some reason.

ermm my nieces were 14 & 16 when their brother came along. They were very excited, and 2 years later they're still fabulous with him.

bow I've had bleeding throughout and everything is ok. As the EPU doctor tells me, bleeding in early pregnancy is common. Call your EPU/GP/midwife and get an appointment at your EPU. I hope everything is ok

NotAClue82 · 12/05/2016 07:56

Hope you're okay Bow

billabye · 12/05/2016 08:07

I'm also mainlining carbs, especially bread and cereal. I usually drink gallons of tea but now have a huge aversion to it. I'm on orange squash instead.

It's my booking in appointment this morning.

Bow fingers crossed its nothing untoward.

kippersandcurtains · 12/05/2016 08:28

Hope all is ok bow. I would certainly follow the advice the others have given but do try not to think the worst - bright red fresh blood is the one to watch, and some sort of bleeding at this stage is still quite common in healthy pregnancies. Hope the pain has eased too Flowers

Full fat coke (ice cold) enjoyed here for the first time since panda pops as a child. I am trying for healthy and balanced diet but with the occasional injection of dreadfulness. It is a good job I live nowhere near a Greggs, as if I did I would be scoffing vegetable pasties - my current craving. Bizarre.

Anyone still debating whether to find out the gender? My heart tells me not to (we didn't with the boys and I love the surprise) but my head says it would be very useful as we have an attic full of boys clothes, which we could start to sell (to fund new baby things) if we were having a girl. It is a tough call - though made easier here in Shropshire as it costs £50 to find out at the 20 week scan...

Babydreaming · 12/05/2016 08:39

10+1 today! It's weird as I know sickness should start easing by now but I've only just started to feel a little sick! Didn't really have much at all until yesterday and then it came quite suddenly. I know my dates are fairly accurate as I had a scan a few weeks ago! Bizarre. I guess everyone's bodies are slightly different.

I'm having to try and control cravings! I went through a phase of buying greggs pastries on my way to work daily but I'm trying not to go overboard now as don't want to balloon! I'm a bit underweight to start with so its very obvious when I put on weight.

I'm going to st George's too!

Has anyone had funny bowel habits? I seem to be constipated 90% of the time (no poo for 2-3days!) and then have an episode of diarrhoea. Don't think that's normal...I usually have regular and normal bowels! Sorry for too much information..

Whatafrickennightmare · 12/05/2016 08:45

When are you all planning on telling your employers ? I'm so nervous about telling mine. This is second pregnancy but new job . I work in a busy dental practice that does a lot of surgical procedures and lots of xray taking etc. Worrying that going to have to tell them sooner rather then later as i have all day nausea and can't just run out of surgery to be sick :( I'm only 6 w +6.

TinySalmon · 12/05/2016 08:47

Hi babydreaming! So thrilled another at St Georges Smile

I'm the same with you re bowl movements. Constipated for ages then the last 3 days in the mornings I've had the runs. It's seemed to stop now. I don't think it's normal either but it's not causing me any pain so trying not to freak out.

kippersandcurtains · 12/05/2016 08:58

baby and tiny the bowel issues sound familiar. Just adds to the first trimester fun, doesn't it?
nightmare I would personally tell them whenever you feel it is necessary - there aren't many downsides, though some employers can start to sideline pregnant staff once they know they are going on leave at some point (mine did, though this isn't strictly legal…). With regards to health & safety however - for you and your baby - you may feel it is better to let them know.

lilydaisyrose · 12/05/2016 09:21

I'm going to tell my employers at 16/17w, as I know I'll feel safer once I've reached that point. Around end of June/start of July. However I don't have a job that involves taking xrays - if I did, I'd probably tell them sooner. On the other hand, I don't know what I'm going to do about the business I've just taken over - separate to my part time job (bought business in February). It's not really possible to carry on while heavily pregnant or postnatally or with a young baby - do I sell it on or try and outsource the more physical parts?! I could do without the stress to be honest, but the extra money wold really come in handy with planning for baby's arrival/maternity leave - decisions!!

DH started talking again about us moving (not far, same village, just bigger house) last night - exciting! We really can't afford to move but we're only in a small 2 bed just now with soon to be 3 kids! We need to go and see a broker and speak nicely to my lovely brother (who will lend us some capital) and see what's what.

I was gagging this morning as my tummy was empty so a large bowl of rice crispies sorted me out! Now debating going to buy a large crusty bagette (normally only like soft bread and not much of it) - first pregnancy I was all about macaroni cheese!!!

Oh I get the gross taste in my mouth too! It sometime tastes like when I used to smoke (gave up about 15 years ago!) - all nicotiney, yuck! And I am on decaff tea mainly unless I'm at someone's house.

I love love love the surprise of gender discovery at birth but am tempted this time round!

Bad Mummy here - have forgotten to take my vitamins for 3 days now, mild panic...Need to put them somewhere more obvious so I remember.
