Really good to hear of more positive scans.

I had terrible cramps yesterday evening, and bleeding this morning. I'm so confused as this is the second time the bleeding has stopped and then started again. I've got a scan tomorrow morning so I just need to get through today.

NurseRosie · 10/05/2016 08:31

Good to see some positivity girls.
I've developed a urinary tract infection this weekend, cystitis is the Devil. I've been getting craps over the past few days but think it might be the infection or antibiotics.
I'm struggling to get uni work finished due to sickness so forced to ask for an extension, angry because I wanted it finished.
Good luck with the scan South, FX everything's ok.
While we've mentioned cravings, my weirdest is gummy sweets, can't get enough.

Azure83 · 10/05/2016 08:44

Good luck south and everyone else having their scans soon!

As for cravings, I have totally gone off sweets and chocolate (very unusual) and want to eat cheese, meat and whatever protein I can get my hands on all the time. I'm definitely addicted to Babybels!

Has anyone been told by their midwife to carry their notes everywhere in case of an emergency? I can sort of see the point but it's so impractical.

SolomanDaisy · 10/05/2016 09:08

jillycooper, I don't know if it's the same as vertigo, but I had some dizziness last time. I found I needed to eat and drink very regularly to keep it under control.

I'm vegetarian and I had totally gone off dairy and eggs. The last few days I've found that I can eat eggs and 0% Greek yoghurt though, as long as I don't try in the evening when my nausea is worst. I've been craving sweet, juicy fruits.

Cravings and aversions are weird aren't they? Everything I've read says we need to eat a high protein, low GI diet during pregnancy and my body is basically saying no.

firawla · 10/05/2016 09:23

I'm craving cheese (those dairy lea triangles or baby bel) and cereal, but trying to resist too much of the cereal because I have a high risk of Gdd and cereal is not always great for that?

Booking in on Friday - looking fwd to it! Great to hear all the positive news and scans.

Bigfam · 10/05/2016 11:40

Hope everything goes well tomorrow south.
Oh no Helga you poor thing, hope you feel better soon! Lovely scans ladies, really happy for you!

I've completely gone off sugar/sweets as well and I've got a huge craving for salad cream.

weechops · 10/05/2016 12:04

bigfam my craving last pregnancy was salad cream with cheese slice sandwiches. Yum! I've not noticed anything yet this time round.

Bigfam · 10/05/2016 12:13

weechops that sounds perfect off to the shop to get some cheese slices Grin

englishgirl · 10/05/2016 13:00

Hi everyone,

I am new to this, hope its ok to join in!

A little bit about me:

Pregnant with my first- approx 8+3
I'm 31 and living in Surrey
I am excited and petrified!

SouthDownsSunshine · 10/05/2016 13:02

With dd I had no real cravings until the third trimester, and then it was pork pies and salami.

I always go off sweet foods in pregnancy. I've a friend who is the opposite.

Helgathehairy · 10/05/2016 13:37

Last time round it was drink cravings weirdly, Capri-sun and lilt mostly. And I would eat Tesco potato gratins every Friday. DH used to try and get me to eat some protein with it but nope. Just a full gratin all to myself. And complete plain ham sandwiches, white bread, butter, one slice of ham.

Helgathehairy · 10/05/2016 13:38

My sweet tooth came back with a vengeance when breast feeding.

Stargirl84 · 10/05/2016 13:55

I'm SO happy to say that the scan showed a baby measuring 7+6 exactly and with a heartbeat! Confirming my due date as the 20th December. I really thought I was out so we are so relieved.

Thank you all for your kind words. Hope this helps anyone else who has any bleeding.

billabye · 10/05/2016 13:58

That's fab stargirl Smile

SouthDownsSunshine · 10/05/2016 14:00

Yay star that's brilliant news.

Still feeling low with my bleeding, but dd is coming home from nursery early so she'll keep me company :)

englishgirl · 10/05/2016 14:10

Excellent news stargirl! Smile

Theaks · 10/05/2016 14:26

Great stargirl
Welcome englishgirl

Helgathehairy · 10/05/2016 14:53

Brilliant news stargirl

firawla · 10/05/2016 15:02

Great news stargirl!
Welcome englishgirl

Helgathehairy · 10/05/2016 15:02

Best way to amuse a toddler - a toy sized wheelbarrow of water & a pine cone! She's mixing the cake mixture apparently but more importantly letting me sit down!

englishgirl · 10/05/2016 15:16

For the first 7.5 weeks of pregnancy I was nauseous most of the time (not actually vomiting though), I was exhausted and had a lot of food aversions.

Now at 8+3 I don't really feel pregnant and haven't done for nearly a week. I still feel tired and some of the aversions are there but I definitely don't feel sick or the same.

Maybe the symptoms are just easing off or maybe they will come back with a vengeance. I'm trying to stay positive but am a little worried. My scan isn't until 3rd June.

Has anyone else had this?

Bigfam · 10/05/2016 16:01

Welcome englishgirl and congrats!
So happy your scan went well stargirl

Bless you south, sending you hugs

How are you feeling now Helga?

NotAClue82 · 10/05/2016 16:05

So happy for your stargirl! Welcome englishgirl!

I had my booking in appointment today, I forgot how long that takes (1.5 hours)!
As expected I'll be under consultant care because of the twinnies. The midwives were lovely Smile.

Theaks · 10/05/2016 17:01

notaclue my booking appointment this time round only took 30 mins. I expected to be there much longer! Didn't need to put that much money on parking!

Try not to worry englishgirl maybe your baby giving you a break, you will regret fretting when they come back full steam ahead!

I got home today, a NHS letter waiting. Got excited as I thought scan date come through! Nope it was a letter about my due smear test! Gutted! Anyone know if smears are done in pregnancy?

Bigfam · 10/05/2016 17:38

Theaks my smear test was postponed until after I had dd3, the gp sent a letter for an appointment, but when I called and mentioned I was pregnant, they cancelled it.
