I have a little bump too but I think it's more than bloat because it's a neat little curve up to my boobs. The shape is like a proper baby bump just on a small scale. I definitely wasn't this big at 8 weeks last time, my stomach muscles must be knackered!

StubbleTurnips · 09/05/2016 19:55

Yes, cried at Brave earlier. Fucking films. I can not watch the news either without leaking from the eyes.

Bigfam · 09/05/2016 20:04

I shed a tear at b.g.t the other day, specifically at the two blokes who were impersonators and went through the entire alphabet doing different celebs Confused real fat sad tears too!

TinySalmon · 09/05/2016 20:19

thisisbonkers not just you! I burst in to tears at a drink-driving commercial with a dog earlier today :(

TinySalmon · 09/05/2016 20:27

Is anyone in SW London and having their baby at St Georges? DP and I have spoken and decided St Georges better than Chelsea & Westminster (even though it's further away) because it's a massive hospital with big maternity ward and if anything goes wrong it would be a better hospital to be at...

TipBoov · 09/05/2016 20:31

underrug I'm the same - I have a definite baby bump, fairly hard and coming up to under my boobs. I'm in maternity jeans already.
I'm struggling to find trousers for work - I need petite because I'm 5"0 but they seem to be hard to come by!

Rosa89 · 09/05/2016 20:34

TinySalmon I know a few people in my family who had chn at St.Georges, they had good experiences from what I recall. I can ask again if you'd like?

Off to catch up on the thread...

TinySalmon · 09/05/2016 20:45

Yes please rosa xx

FluffyPickleMonster · 09/05/2016 20:51

Ta daaaaaa! Introducing my little monster! Scan was amazing, all absolutely fine and as it should be. Dated me at 8+1 which is what I thought so edd is still 18th Dec. Hearing the heartbeat was incredible.vee haven't met ourselves think about the future and have only referred to it as various types of seeds and berries so it was quite overwhelming, especially for hubby. So relieved, just need to get through the next four weeks, one hurdle at a time eh.

kitkat yes I had to clean the passenger seat and gearbox plus my top and trousers! At least my day ended better!

Morning sickness and first scan anticipation - it's the December 2016 babies.
Rosa89 · 09/05/2016 20:55

Flowers to those with sickness and fatigue. I have sudden bouts of exhaustion in the day at work, couldn't imagine working full time with a toddler and also pregnant.

Can I also join the bloated bump club! I need to pull out my floatiest tops for the next couple of weeks I think. Will be a relief when I don't have to hide it anymore. Although the "goodness you're huge for 12 weeks" comments will be fun...

hanste123 · 09/05/2016 20:59

Hello, can I join the December crew! I'm due on the 8th (I think) and I'm 10
Weeks. Was incredibly tired but seems to be easing up, and very low level nausea. Just very worried about my lack of weight gain. I am quite low weight anyway (healthily-just lucky genetics). I am still the same weight as pre pregnancy despite eating loads! I've yo-yo'd a little but still the same weight...
Also, it doesn't help that I have completely gone off most food, especially fish and veg. Which used to be my favourites! Feeling very guilty and annoyed by it. Also, dreaming of chocolate... As it stuffing my face constantly! I have been very good though (worried about gestational diabetes- it's in the family).
Telling family in 2 days, very excited! Didn't want to tell anyone until after 12 week scan, just in case bad news, but I'm away with my mum and sis this weekend and they'll definitely guess! 😳

Essybird · 09/05/2016 21:01

We had our Harmony test today and they also gave us a proper viability scan to make sure I was last 10 weeks (otherwise the test won't work).
Little one was super active and did not particularly want to be photographed - kicking and swimming around. Husband could not believe I can't feel anything thing yet!
We had it done in Fetal Medicine Clinic on Harley street and would recommend them (albeit appt was delayed by 20mins). Lovely facilities and staff.

Next scan on the 21st to confirm the results and the sex of the baby. All before I have the NHS scan on the 25th! So nice to have something going on every week now. Makes the time go faster to get to the 12weeks!

Also. dates have changed and EDD is now 29th November. Can't believe it's over a week earlier than based on LMP!

becciandbump · 09/05/2016 21:09

fluffypicklemonster congrats on the scan. I'm also in the bloated gang my husband couldn't believe the difference the last few days. Think I'm going to struggle to hide this for another 4 weeks im going to my nephews 2nd birthday party the week before my 12 week scan and 3 of my good friends will be going one of whom is also pregnant seeing they all saw my flat Tum at my wedding 8 weeks ago I know they will spot it a mile off- may just have to tell them I think x

NotAClue82 · 09/05/2016 21:16

Lovely news about your scans Fluffy and Essy!

BowSurprise · 09/05/2016 21:17

Really comforting to hear how many of you are also constantly exhausted. I normally have loads of energy, work a long day and have packed social life without feeling tired and now I'm so fatigued I want to cry.

Is anyone else eating a lot more sugar than usual? Not sure if it's the tiredness but I normally eat healthy balanced meals and now I can't stop eating cakes, sweets and chocolate that I never used to buy.

Helgathehairy · 09/05/2016 21:32

Weirdly enough I've gone off sugar. Have a few packs of buttons (potty training toddler) and I haven't eaten any!

Bella1985 · 09/05/2016 21:36

I'm with helgathehairy I've totally gone off sweets and cakes (which is a good thing as I have a bmi over 30) so I'm enjoying my new love of water (would normally opt for diet coke over water) and crackers!

underrugsswept · 09/05/2016 22:06

Some lovely news in this thread tonight :)

I'm all about the sugar at the moment after a week or two being obsessed with savoury stuff.

I can totally sympathise with all you exhausted ladies - I was like that first time round and it was honestly like being ill. I used to come home from work and go straight to bed. Weirdly, I'm not like that at all this time another reason to worry and instead just have afternoons or the odd day where it hits me likes ton of bricks. The rest of the time I'm fine. Hoping you all get some energy back soon!

babyinthacorner · 09/05/2016 22:32

Great news essy and fluffy!
I'm craving sugar and fresh bread and meat. Spending an absolute fortune on food...but have only put on about 5lb so far. Feel like a weigh a ton though.

Essybird · 10/05/2016 06:31

I craved white potatoes until last week. We never even buy them normally! This is stopped now and now it's all things fresh. Odd.
Exhaustion has also changed. I was so so tired until 9 weeks. Since last week not so much anymore. I feel this odd str night. Especially when I do exercise.
Similar to you all though, things change it automatically makes me worry!!! Can't wait for the 12wk scan next week to get over that hurdle finally...

Essybird · 10/05/2016 06:32

Strength not str night. Clearly brain is still tired Wink

Helbelle75 · 10/05/2016 06:57

Hi hanste, i'm due on 8th as well. I'm craving all things healthy but i'm really bloated and look huge! Well, in my head I do anyway,
bowsurprise it's horrid isn't it? I feel so unlike me. But so happy that I'm pregnant, I can cope.

So lovely to hear scan news, and that everything is going well. 13 days to mine and can't wait.

Anewleaf · 10/05/2016 07:27

Great to see the scans! 12 weeks seems so far away for me and no plans for a reassurance scan as of yet.
Docs put me on cyclzine and as I fear it puts you to sleep for about 5 hours but takes the sickness away.
Work is arranging to have marking etc collected today so that takes away some of the teacher guilt but it'll be another day in bed for me as some severe sickness this morning again.
I can too claim to be a member of the bloated gang. I wish I'd taken belly shots with my first am certain I was not as big as I am at 7+3.

Helgathehairy · 10/05/2016 07:58

Oh god, today is going to be hard. I had an hour last night where I was glued to the loo (sorry for tmi). DH had cooked mussels for dinner and I think they were dodgy so I only ate two but they did the damage. (DH suffered later).
Then DD was really unsettled all night, crying and saying her tummy hurt (she hadn't had any mussels).
This morning she's just tired and having tantrums about EVERYTHING.

It's going to be a long day.

JillyCooper2015 · 10/05/2016 08:23

Hey everyone !

8+0 today - booking in tomorrow - yay :)

No sickness yet, 10 days of the runs but that's passed now.

Feel like a whale - thighs and hips totally popped.

Initially was eating beautifully healthily but now mini cheddars and chocolate are top billing.

My main challenge is vertigo.

I posted a thread on this on the pregnancy page but was wondering if anyone on here has / has had it?

And of course, tips for managing it as its not the most fun on a hot and busy tube!
