Yeah, it's more in one of mine too. The one that had the worst oversupply. I'm wondering where I put my feeding bras, they're going to be the only thing that fits me if this carries on!

firawla · 05/05/2016 16:55

I'm tempted by the idea of a Doppler but know I won't have the expertise to use it so better resist buying kind, it will just be a waste for me and probably cause more worry since I don't know what I'm doing!

Hoping not to buy too many maternity clothes either since this might be our last (we'll see!) - managing okay so far with my normal stuff, I do have jeans in 1 size bigger as I lost weight recently so they might do a bit later on?!

rider1975 · 05/05/2016 17:00

Hi girls - well I'm out too. 3 hours wait for my 12 noon appointment which made it all the more miserable. Gestational sac nice and big which is why I still feel so pregnant but the little embryo only at 3.7 mm and no hb. Second MMC and I'll be medically managing that as I don't trust EPRC procedure after my first.
I've really loved being part of this group and have fully appreciated the confidence and support.
Wanted to wish you all well in your pregnancies - enjoy them! You'll all be coming up to your first trimesters soon and can breathe a little.
Xxxx

billabye · 05/05/2016 17:09

So sorry, rider, take care of yourself Flowers

NotAClue82 · 05/05/2016 17:19

I'm sorry it wasn't good news Rider, and I think it's pretty terrible they let you wait for three hours! I know delays are unavoidable but you'd think they might prioritise people in your situation. I wish you all the best in the future. Much love x

Rosa89 · 05/05/2016 17:30

So sorry Rider Flowers

readingrainbow · 05/05/2016 17:35

TinySalmon · 05/05/2016 17:44

rider so sorry FlowersFlowers

I agree with notaclue that I think it's outrageous to have made you wait so long!

Let us know how you get on if you decide to try again soon, but for now take care of yourself and your body x

underrugsswept · 05/05/2016 17:52

So sorry rider. Thinking of you.

Bigfam · 05/05/2016 18:10

Sunnydays321 · 05/05/2016 19:04

I wouldn't use it regularly, (I work in maternity and am trained to use them so was confident to try but wouldn't have worried if I couldn't hear anything.. In our area we don't even try routinely at 16 weeks in case we worry people if we can't hear them). But I some research suggests that 40-60% can hear hb at 9 weeks. If I couldn't hear it I would have booked an early reassurance scan but I'm happy iv hear it so saved myself £70! I won't use it again now. Will just wait for 12 week scan. I think it's fine to use for own enjoyment. No evidence of any harm to babies, but equally we have only been using Ultrasound in maternity regularly for about 40 years so we don't know the full impact. but I absolutely don't recommend using it for reassurance if you have any concerns about baby later on ie reduced fetal movements. People are falsely reassured by hearing the heartbeat and then don't go for proper check up. The heartbeat only tells you that the baby is alive, not that they are well. You need a full ctg, scan, observations and medical opinion if you have any concerns. As count the kicks say you wouldn't leave someone collapsed in the street just because they had a pulse, you would get them medical help. It's the same with babies. It is also very easy to mistake your pulse, placenta etc.

NurseRosie · 05/05/2016 19:22

I tried to use a Doppler at work and got really excited until I realised I could hear my own heart beat. I didn't know what I was doing though, I only use it on arms and legs usually. Think I'll stay clear now x

firawla · 05/05/2016 19:35

So sorry rider Flowers

HidinginPlainS1ght · 05/05/2016 19:35

So sorry Rider. You think they could operate an appointment system for follow up scans Flowers take care of yourself.

Sunnydays- I have a feeling we may be in the same profession!

Anxiety now creeping back 1 day after a good scan! That reassurance didn't last long.

Sunnydays321 · 05/05/2016 20:15

Haha hiding, it's odd being on the other side of it isn't it! I know what you mean about the anxiety, my good scan positivity only lasted a few days.i feel much better now though. X

Whatafrickennightmare · 05/05/2016 20:29

Wonder if anyone can shed any light on this, I know it's early days but after my last birth with ds the consultant said I would have an ELC at 39 weeks, what will happen as 39 weeks would mean being in over Xmas?

Bella1985 · 05/05/2016 20:42

*underrugswept I'm the same! I'm at 6+4 and the nausea kicked in yesterday and it seems to be worse when my stomach is empty...today at lunchtime I felt like I could eat a horse! (I didn't btw) but did buy a LOT of food from the work canteen!

*rider Sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself x

HidinginPlainS1ght · 05/05/2016 20:57

Sorry Sunnydays can't remember if it's your first but yes odd being on the other side, had some fab midwives last time, hoping to get them back but not sure we're exactly flavour of the month with the hospital right now (thankfully not where I work)

Nightmare- should t make any difference re timing of elective section. The only day they won't do elective sections will be weekends and bank holidays so not Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Sections are done on Christmas Eve though. Safest time to be in hospital as no leave, we were in hospital with DC1 last Christmas, was very well staffed, though routine stuff comes to a halt!

Sunnydays321 · 05/05/2016 21:02

Ah I'm not sure we are exactly in the same job.. I'm sure the midwives will be lovely to you though. Everyone gets on well where I work, I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.
