Really sorry to read the sad news updates, thinking of you Flowers

My booking appt went well, being referred for a ELCS, yay! Fingers crossed they'll let me, don't want last times drama! Just under a month til my scan though, seems like forever to wait, getting rather nervous about it, hey ho!

HidinginPlainS1ght · 05/05/2016 21:51

Sunnydays- now I want to know what job you're in! work in maternity, trained to use a Doppler, you have to be a doctor or a midwife surely. Maybe a sonographer.

Dartmoor-glad you've got your ELCS agreed.

lilydaisyrose · 05/05/2016 22:10

Sunnydays321 - community midwife & HidinginPlainS1ght - hospital midwife, is my guess?

swancourt · 05/05/2016 22:11

rider I'm so sorry :( I wanted you to be my preggo buddy on the Strand! Really hoping you get the medical management fast and it goes as well as it can, and that you are ready to ttc again soon. So sorry.

Boobs barely even sore again here, and no nausea. Constipation is about my only consistent symptom (TMI - sorry!) 8 days until the early scan I have booked. Wish it was tomorrow, even though at 5+6 I doubt they'd see anything worthwhile.

dartmoor, what happened last time, if you don't mind me asking?

lilydaisyrose · 05/05/2016 22:12

riding I'm so sorry - I had a good feeling after some of the things you'd said - very sorry to hear your sad news.

underrugsswept · 05/05/2016 22:38

I have job envy. I'd love to be a midwife, shame I didn't realise it until I was in my 30s!

HidinginPlainS1ght · 05/05/2016 23:10

Oldest person on my course was 55, great midwife! So there's still time...

Swancourt-constipation still my only symptom at 8+5 and all was fine. Good luck with the scan.

rider1975 · 05/05/2016 23:35

Thank you Bigfam, Swan, Tiny and the rest of you lovely ladies.
I will pop in again in future if we manage another go! Who knows.. third time lucky!
For now, adieu from me. Take care all xx Flowers

barkingtreefrog · 05/05/2016 23:46

I'm so sorry rider. I was thinking of you today but been out all evening and only just managed to check in to see your news Flowers.
I hope the medical management goes as smoothly as possible.

Hannahcarp27 · 06/05/2016 02:21

Hello Ladies. So my holiday in Bali has been going amazing been feeling great just a tad tired. Have even started to prefer mocktails. Hit 8 weeks yesterday. We had beautiful breakfast delivered to our villa I had one mouthful and had to run to the loo. Same again today. Sickness seemed to be as soon as I wake and first try and eat then doesn't hang around rest of the day. I don't feel able to eat a lot throughout the day the hunger is there but just can't handle large portions. Am wondering what will happen when I return to UK with the time difference will my morning sickness just change times to fit! Sorry to hear about all the bad news thinking of you all X

lilydaisyrose · 06/05/2016 04:03

Well this is one night when I don't mind the 3am wake up! Watching the results come in from Scottish Parliament elections - love election night and it's time for all the results to roll in! I'm disappointed in the result from my constituency - but to be fair, he's a good MSP - just not my preferred party. But at least as the AMS voting system means your voice is heard.

underrugsswept · 06/05/2016 05:58

Really Hiding? I'm going to have a proper rethink about my job after DC2 . I'm freelance at the moment but it's not a very exciting industry. The only issue is we've just moved house and taken on a bigger mortgage so 'starting again' would be difficult. I'd love to do something more vocational though.

Mocktails in Bali sound idyllic. I've got tea The North here, not quite the same! It's shaping up to be another gorgeous day though...

barkingtreefrog · 06/05/2016 06:28

I hadn't realised how many of my clothes were close fitting. Not tight, but I'm still very bloated and it's visible. My work trousers are too uncomfortable. Bought a couple of more tunic style dresses yesterday so I can wear leggings and a loose dress rather than anything that ties or fastens round the waist. Not maternity wear, just clothes I can wear to work that won't leave me paranoid that people might gossip! If everything goes okay and I get a bump I reckon most of my clothes will still fit, I just don't want to wear the clothes that make me look like I have a bump now!

9 weeks today. Only 31 to go! I've booked a reassurance scan for next Wednesday as my anxiety levels were creeping up again. The pregnancy support service were incredibly blunt when I called up! First thing they asked was how many miscarriages I'd had, then if all three were consecutive. It was like trying to get past a bouncer!! I've been told by a few people that prednisolone masks pregnancy symptoms, so I'm trying to worry a little less about that. Thought it might be worth mentioning in case anyone else is taking it?

Happy Friday everyone Grin I'm working from home today as I've got the nurse coming round to give me an intralipids drip. Two hours sitting with a drip in my arm trying to type with one hand!

SouthDownsSunshine · 06/05/2016 07:03

10 weeks today, yay! Apparently my uterus is the size of a grapefruit, which explains why I can't fit into my trousers anymore.

DH is in a grump this morning because he woke at 1am feeling sick. He's fine now. But it's like the world has ended. I am struggling to have sympathy with him.

LittleBear01 · 06/05/2016 07:05

Hi Barking,

Just wanted to reassure you that I'm on Prednisolone and also have next to no symptoms. I'm hungry and maybe a bit tired, but boobs are normal and no sickness. I'm 9+2 and had another scan yesterday (as had some brown bleeding) and the baby is doing well - s/he was even waving a little arm at us!

I also have quite a 'bump' - I'm usually a size 8 and generally a petite person so I'm also finding that most of my normal clothes would give the game away. The sonographer said yesterday that it's just water retention, but I wonder whether it's anything to do with the extra progesterone.

Sorry to hear about those who have had bad news, hope you are being looked after Flowers

Any other teachers on here?

readingrainbow · 06/05/2016 07:14

I have older children so I think my body is all, "oh, hey, I remember what to do let's not bother waiting to expand. We'll make a head start on all that."

I'm only 5 weeks so I don't look pregnant, just bloated. And flumpy.

Theaks · 06/05/2016 07:43

Southdownsunshine, my hubby got out of bed saying he was tired after 1 night of bad sleep. I clearly won the competition! Ha ha!

It's my booking appointment today at 11.
Looking forward to it, but equally not as I will have to again go through loss history Sad. I'm 9.5 today, and hope all is well.

billabye · 06/05/2016 08:18

I'm really struggling with smells, garlic in particular. I can smell tiny amounts from miles away. DP had about a teaspoon of branston pickle last night and I gagged when he just kissed me. Poor DP. I was the same in my last pregnancy as well Sad

barkingtreefrog · 06/05/2016 08:24

little bear I don't think it's the extra progesterone as I've never had it before, I had read water rentention. Same here, size 8 and any change in shape shows immediately!

I was a teacher for 14 years, then I had my first miscarriage whilst in the middle of running the school production, and the second miscarriage in the middle of a residential trip, so I decided I couldn't handle it anymore! It was getting increasingly difficult to juggle all the fertility appointments and ivf scans, blood tests, egg collection, embryo transfer etc with all the unpredictability of when I would need to be out of the classroom. I'd be queuing outside the fertility clinic for half an hour before it opened to make sure I got the first appointment (first come first served for scans and bloods) so I could get back to the classroom in time for the register, but with no time to set up. Just too stressful and my head started out supportive but was losing patience with Ofsted looming. I was hoping that quitting would reduce stress and help me get pg, but it didn't! It's much easier now as I work in an office and I just go to appointments whenever I need to and just make the time up again. When I had the last miscarriage I took a week off without feeling guilty and then had a week working from home, so it was much easier to deal with than the guilt of being out of the classroom and abandoning my class (I will never forget dragging myself back into school whilst still bleeding with mc2 and trying to run during sports day with a heavy duty night time sanitary towel on as my team got more points if their teacher joined in and I couldn't let them down - hideous!)
I really, really miss teaching though, and had started looking for jobs back in the classroom for September before we got this bfp from our last IVF. They'd only just started coming out when I got the bfp though, and now I don't want to apply as that would just be me being negative and assuming I won't be pregnant in September!

Wow, that was a bit of an essay. Working at home isn't proving incredibly productive... Don't feel too bad though as I'd already predicted that and worked loads of overtime earlier in the week so I can slack off today while waiting for the nurse!

babymaybe562 · 06/05/2016 09:01

I keep accidentally sleeping on my stomach Blush and then wake up feeling really guilty about it. Got a tummy ache this morning, not sure if its related to that. Anyone else struggling with not-stomach-sleeping?!

DartmoorDoughnut · 06/05/2016 09:06

Nothing that interesting swan I was as overdue as you can go, 42+14 by the time he was born! Had a reaction to the pessary inducing thing which meant that my lower legs were covered with scabs and incredibly itchy, kept me awake and were just agony, not ideal with a newborn! Basically inducing me didn't work, waters were broken which wasn't particularly pleasant, went on the drip to get contractions going which essentially ramps them up to rather bloody owey, and then after just over 3 days during which I hadn't slept a wink and was essentially going backwards - from 8cm to 6cm - DS wasn't happy so ended in an EMCS. Plus he was big, 9lb 4oz, and had a massive head, 38cm, so they said I wouldn't have managed to get him out naturally in any case being a - previously Grin - petite short arse! Afterwards I was shattered so this time around I'd like to avoid all of that. Plus there is no way in hell I'd have pessary again, don't think my body liked the extra hormones! I recovered very quickly and easily from the actual EMCS though so think avoiding the build up should hopefully mean I'll recover from an ELCS even better ... That's the hope!

DartmoorDoughnut · 06/05/2016 09:08

Sorry that was an epic post!

babymaybe afaik sleeping in your stomach isn't an issue this early on, I'm making the most of it!

SouthDownsSunshine · 06/05/2016 09:10

Sounds horrendous dartmoor. No wonder you're opting for an ELCS this time. I'll be doing the same - I'm at peace with the decision now!

TinySalmon · 06/05/2016 09:13

billabye poor DP! That's very funny though.

All sorts of smells are making me gag too. The smell of my cute little dog is making me GAG! He kept jumping up on the sofa for cuddles and I kept pushing him away. He was so confused and I felt really guilty but for some reason his smell is really putting me off. DP sprayed his cologne on him Grin

DartmoorDoughnut · 06/05/2016 09:13
