Guess I'm joining you! About 5 weeks, unsure of exact dates. Only slight nausea but plenty of tiredness coupled with trouble sleeping, wheeee! I'm constantly hungry, it seems, which is probably why I feel so bloated. Am dreaming of floaty tops/tunics and leggings already.

underrugsswept · 05/05/2016 05:59

Welcome Rainbow.

Is anyone else not planning on an early scan and worrying about a missed miscarriage while they wait for the 12-weeker? I know of three people (1 friend, 2 friends of friends) who have had then in RL so they seem far too common to me (only happens in 1% of pregnancies supposedly). My symptoms are so slight, I almost wish I felt worse!

lilydaisyrose · 05/05/2016 07:05

Welcome rainbow!

I got back to sleep relatively quickly, thanks barking - did you? The irony is that I feel wide awake and raring to go in the middle of the night, then like death warmed up in the morning!

underrugsswept, yes - it's all I can think about. I have all the fears - molar pregnancy, missed miscarriage, spina bifida etc. I just can't allow myself to believe it'll all be ok.

rider1975, good luck with your follow up scan today, I'll be thinking of you.

readingrainbow · 05/05/2016 07:05

Yes. I've had a lot of cramping and spotting last week and a small amount this week. Bfp got darker in the interim, however, so I'm guessing everything's OK in there. I could do with a little window or something.

Bigfam · 05/05/2016 07:10

Rider, really wishing all goes well today. Sending all my support and love x

Nuttypops · 05/05/2016 07:17

Lily, with you on the funny times of night to be awake. I am done for the day by about 8pm but seem to wake up every 2 hours, then come 2am am awake for at least an hour. Very odd!

rider1975 · 05/05/2016 07:20

Thank you girls - so nice of you Smile

SouthDownsSunshine · 05/05/2016 07:30

Finally gave in last night and ordered some summer maternity clothes: shorts and a skirt. Last time I didn't need then until 20 weeks Shock but I can't do up my jeans or even my over sized trousers.

billabye · 05/05/2016 08:07

My trousers are also snug And I've been looking at maternity clothes online. Seems too early at 8 weeks Blush

Sunnydays321 · 05/05/2016 08:09

Im so sorry none and Dublin, can't imagine how awful this must be, look after yourselves.

With you ladies on the insomnia! Every night I'm awake between about 4-6, but I'm knackered and could sleep for hours by the time my alarm goes off. I'm actually not that tired through the day which is a miracle! Did an aerobics class last night though and just had no energy, felt like a loser doing the low impact moves!! 9 weeks today! Yay, glad to have made it this far, heard the little heart beat again yesterday with my Doppler. Reassuring. X

Babydreaming · 05/05/2016 08:33

What are all your thoughts on dopplers? I was considering getting one but a friend warned me that the impact of frequent ultrasound waves isn't really known and she wouldn't risk it..it put me off a little! Then again, I've always thought ultrasound is safe and it would be great to have that reassurance...!

Theaks · 05/05/2016 08:56

So the dobbler picks up so early sunny. I thought it was later. I considered one- but thought if I used it wrong or didn't work right it might make me panic for no reason.

HidinginPlainS1ght · 05/05/2016 10:02

I got away without buying any maternity clothes with Dc1 hoping I can do it again! Could do with saving money.

Also counting the possible problems. We found out about DC1's serious issues at the 20 week scan last time so doubt I'll feel okay until after that this time plus I know so many people who found about about lethal conditions after birth.... I think I'm just a worrier. I'm not sure I'll ever feel okay actually. however went to the funeral of a friends baby recently and realised I can bury another child if I have to. Hopefully I won't have to.

I have my own Doppler (I work in maternity) but it's hidden in the loft. Won't get it out until I cant resist would worry about not hearing this early though we did hear it on the scan yesterday.

underrugsswept · 05/05/2016 10:12

Baby I wouldn't get a doppler unless I was trained to use one. If I couldn't find the heartbeat I'd probably just panic and cause unnecessary worry. Once you start feeling movements you can monitor them that way anyway.

NotAClue82 · 05/05/2016 11:52

I think unless you are trained to use a Doppler, it's not generally recommended to use on. This is mainly because women often mistake the bloodflow of the placenta for their baby's heartbeat. I could be wrong though!

SouthDownsSunshine · 05/05/2016 12:22

Wow hiding - how did you manage without maternity clothes? I had a small bump but still needed them. The jeans were amazing afterwards, and the coat as it went around the sling.

I lent my friend two big bags of my maternity clothes last time, she never gave them back to me and now she's pregnant again. I can't afford not to have them back but I don't know how to ask Blush

On dopplers, despite my off -the-wall anxiety, I wouldn't use one. The midwives don't guarantee hearing the heartbeat at 16 weeks with one. And without training I wouldn't know what's good or not.

babymaybe562 · 05/05/2016 14:09

Flowers to all those going through a hard time at the moment.

3 weeks until scan. Time is dragging on.

Have managed to get some maternity clothes on ebay. Cant wait to be able to wear stretchy jeans again Grin

HidinginPlainS1ght · 05/05/2016 15:00

No idea jeans just did up under the bump and loose tops over. This baby is already measuring big though so maybe won't work this time

I've sent my referral form in now for mat care so just waiting for midwife appt and scan date.

NotAClue82 · 05/05/2016 15:34

Wow hiding I bet you are one of those fabulous pregnant women who just get a bump!

I'm still fine in my normal clothes now, but I'm sure I will get huge again towards the end, like last time!

NotAClue82 · 05/05/2016 15:35

I wonder whether any of us will have twins! There's quite a few of us so statistically, the chances of it happening in this group must be quite high...

readingrainbow · 05/05/2016 15:40

Gulp.

underrugsswept · 05/05/2016 15:42

I CAN'T STOP EATING!

SolomanDaisy · 05/05/2016 16:03

So my boobs have got that awful feeling you get when they're too full of milk and the baby needs to feed. I honestly feel like if there was a baby here I could feed it. I started leaking a bit at 20 something weeks last time then had massive oversupply after DS was born. Surely I can't be producing milk yet though, I'm only 9+4!!

Bigfam · 05/05/2016 16:07

Hope you're OK rider, have been thinking of you today.

SouthDownsSunshine · 05/05/2016 16:16

me too soloman! But only in one of my boobs, which is just odd.
