Wow! Thread number three.

Thurlow · 05/05/2016 12:09

Congrats Bolly, that's lovely Smile

smellsofelderberries · 05/05/2016 13:48

Hooray Bolly!

All fine here too. Little bugger kept turning his head so it took aaaages to do the NT measurement but meant we got to see him lots (and I got a good prodding). NT measurement is within normal limits so we're low risk, unless the blood work throws up something weird. Best part, little champ has grown HEAPS between the quick scan at 10 weeks and today so they've dated me at 12+5! (Meant to be 12+1 today) I'm almost in the second trimester!! Grin

goldfinch01 · 05/05/2016 13:52

Yay congrats to elderberries and Bolly, great news Smile

Spotty that sounds horrible, hope you're on the mend soon Flowers

INeedNewShoes · 05/05/2016 13:54

Fab new Elderberries and Bolly Smile

I've finally got my scan appointment through. It's on the 18th which seems like eons away!

almondbutter · 05/05/2016 14:04

Flying to America this evening. Planning on breaking out the Baby On Board badge at the border so I can skip that hideous queue. It's either that or homeland security get a face full of sick when they start quizzing me about my holiday. copper hope your trip is going well.

Lovely seeing all the positive scan news.

FuzzyOwl · 05/05/2016 14:30

Fab news smellsof

Hope the flight goes well almond.

mssleepyhead · 05/05/2016 14:45

INeedNewShoes - that's my scan date too. 2 weeks to go! I'll be 13+1 by then so hopefully baby will be looking brilliant : )

Had a few days of respite earlier in the week where I didn't feel sick at all but yesterday and today have been horrendous. I thought things were meant to get easier as the first trimester goes on?? I haven't been sick but can't face most foods and feel constantly sick. I've got a little bump starting to stick out too, which is making me very self-conscious as we're not telling people until after the scan. Not sure how I'll last until then though. Last time I made it to 14 weeks before needing the maternity jeans but no chance this time!

Great news on all of the scans etc. So glad it's going well for everyone x

almondbutter · 05/05/2016 14:49

Thanks, Fuzzy. Anyone else flying soon, I have so far found (BA) cabin crew to be lovely. Had a long flight six weeks or so ago, mentioned the sickness to a couple of stewardesses and they gave me armfuls of really cold fruit to keep munching on. Definitely worth telling them at start of flight.

CakeAndChocolate · 05/05/2016 14:55

Great news smells and bolly!

Almond hope your flight goes ok. I once got really sick on a flight to the US and the bloody border control staff quizzed me like a criminal whilst I was retching into a paper bag. Hope the baby on board badge gets you through quickly!

INeedNewShoes · 05/05/2016 15:05

sleepyhead it's nice to have a scan date buddy Smile

I think I'll be 12+3 but there's some doubt over dating so we'll see how the baby actually measures when the scan comes around!

I had a day off from nausea yesterday too, but today is worse again.

Almond I hope the flight isn't too much of an ordeal.

smellsofelderberries · 05/05/2016 15:15

Good luck on the flight Almond. Good idea with the baby on board badge, think I will start using mine now!

Spottyladybird · 05/05/2016 15:30

I've spent the day in A&E after being unable to wee. Now got a catheter in for the next 10 days and will be on antibiotics for the rest of the pregnancy. 😓

OP posts:
Thurlow · 05/05/2016 15:38

For the whole pregnancy?! Shock You poor thing.

INeedNewShoes · 05/05/2016 15:41

Oh Spotty that's rubbish. You poor thing. At least it's being treated now Flowers

smellsofelderberries · 05/05/2016 15:50

Oh no Spotty, that's completely crap! Hope the antibiotics kick in soon Flowers

onthemetro · 05/05/2016 16:02

Oh no Spotty, that's awful :( Hope you start feeling a little better soon.

Congrats on everyone with good scan news! Grin

I managed two days back in work before having to call in sick again, being in work is hurting my hip/bum/leg so much that I was limping home yesterday. After consulting Dr Google I think it might be something like pelvic girdle pain - think I'll be taking a trip to my GP soon.

I'm also still suffering so badly from trapped gas every few days, today was the worst by far, I was crying in pain and couldn't sit or stand or do anything. DP went to get me Windeze and it's helped a little but I'm still curled up feeling really sorry for myself.

Also have a migraine, so it's just all happening here today. Sob. Keep having a little cry because I feel so shit, and have done for so long now! It's really getting me down..

Sorry guys, I hope you don't mind the moan there - feel like people IRL who know think I'm exaggerating a bit so it's nice to moan here

Fedupithink · 05/05/2016 16:51

Sorry to hear that Spotty hope you feel better soon!

So, after all my angst - everything is good!! I've been put forward by one day so I'm also 12+5! We're due date buddies Smells

Thank you all for your kind words and well-wishes and for letting me vent.

It was such a relief to see baby wriggling around on the screen. we got a bit of extra time watching too as the other nurse had to step out for a while mid-scan so couldn't record the measurements.

I had a top up of my hypnotherapy this morning which seemed to help but I've learned my lesson, early morning appointments from now on!

Good luck to the others having scans today!

INeedNewShoes · 05/05/2016 17:01

Great news Fedup Smile

smellsofelderberries · 05/05/2016 17:04

YES Fedup that's such great news! Been thinking about you all day. Exciting we're EDD buddies! Grin

Fedupithink · 05/05/2016 17:11

I cannot stop smiling!!! Grin

BeedlesPineNeedles · 05/05/2016 17:21

Great news on all the scans over the last couple of days.

spotty you poor thing. Do you have to stay in hospital with the catheter or can you go home?

fuzzywuzzy · 05/05/2016 17:24

Oh spotty hope you get better soon.

Metro try mint tea for wind, it works like a charm, or better just steep some mint leaves in hot water instead of the teabags.

Fed wonderful news about your scan, congratulations everyone who's had a positive scan.

I had my booking in appt today and they agreed to take all bloods after 12 week scan. I'm also under consultant care as I'm high risk due to history.

Hope everyone has a calm and uneventful evening. The weather is glorious!

FuzzyOwl · 05/05/2016 17:35

Oh Spotty.

Definitely speak to your GP/midwife onthemetro and see if you can be referred to a physio. I can't help with your migraine, as I would be curing mine and my headaches if I could, but I really hope it eases soon for you. If you can, are you able to rest in a cool, dark room in silence? And always feel free to moan - we all understand. Smile

Yay Fedup and I agree about appointment time. I am considering requesting it becomes law so we don't have to wait all day for them!

Good news about your bloods fuzzy and hopefully it will be everything done in one go.

Hope everyone is doing ok today. Do we have anymore scans tomorrow?

Also if anyone else wants to join the secret Facebook group, just drop me a PM with your email address and I will send you the link.

Ameilius · 05/05/2016 17:37

we had an extra scan yesterday (mostly because they haven't been able to see much when I was there a couple of weeks ago to check the spinal cord because of family history). We got told the nuchal tube measurement was over average - 3.8mm (at 13+6) which is scary. They don't do the double test as standard (or even ultrasounds! So we were lucky to have one, I'm only 29 so wouldn't have been offered one normally) but I've have lots of bloods taken now and they'll call me with the results next week. A week seems like so long! We also have to go back for another ultrasound and amino (based on the results). It suddenly feels very scary and even though I've been telling myself that having so much morning sickness means the baby is healthy it's terrifying to think that it might not be. Feeling a bit lost now..

CakeAndChocolate · 05/05/2016 17:49

spotty so sorry you've been in A&E, hope you get to go home soon.
onthemetro sounds like you've had an awful day. Get yourself to the GP tomorrow, that sort of pain isn't normal and they can help you with it.
Amelius so sorry that you've had a worrying Nuchal measurement and now have a week of angst waiting for the results. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that your bloods brings the risk down. I think any measurement of 3.5 or below is normal, and baby is so tiny at this stage it is easy to be wrong by a few mm.
