Fantastic news about your harmony results and having a little girl goldfinch. I'd be inclined to decline HV appointments at home and go somewhere for them as well after last time - they said they would turn up on a particular day (no time given) and were really unreliable. I had a newborn and was recovering from the birth (c section) and the last thing I wanted was to be awake, dressed and in my house all day because they were supposed to visit. I didn't even feel I could invite people round because I thought it would be rude to the HV. Needless to say, this time round they will be lucky to find me awake and if I am out of my pyjamas it will be an added bonus!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 04/05/2016 18:52

Sorry you had such a rubbish experience goldfinch. Not great, but Yay for good test results!
fuzzyowl hvs are so variable. Mine have been excellent throughout with DD, as we're the midwives who came round etc. Maybe I've just been lucky and it really makes a big difference when you feel confident that people are doing their very best for you.

Spottyladybird · 04/05/2016 19:18

Had my scan today. Everything good. 12 + 6. EDD 10.11.

Congrats Spotty!! Grin

INeedNewShoes · 04/05/2016 19:29

Good news Spotty Smile

CakeAndChocolate · 04/05/2016 19:44

That's great Spotty congrats!

bobcat85 · 04/05/2016 19:44

Thanks everyone, feel like I can relax a bit now.

Glad your scan went well Spotty :).

Fantastic news about your results Goldfinch. Sorry to hear that your appointment was so stressful, I would definitely complain.

Fedupithink · 04/05/2016 20:05

Congrats Spotty! Epic news!

I'm utterly terrified ahead of my scan tomorrow, I keep crying and am dreading even trying to sleep tonight.

So so anxious that something will be wrong and I'll end up in hospital again. My mc last year was pretty awful and ended in an emergency trip in an ambulance and a weekend stay.

I wish I could fast forward to this time tomorrow. I should have changed my appointment time, 2.20pm is so far away.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 04/05/2016 20:47

Sounds horrible fedup. My Scan's not till 4pm so I could teach all my lessons before hand. Regretting that decision now. I had a scan 2 weeks ago though so hoping the chances of things having gone wrong are minimal particularly with the odd movement I've felt over the last few days. But still terrified!!

Fedupithink · 04/05/2016 21:06

Oh Littlegrey that'll be a good distraction.

My DH is just being relentlessly positive which is doing my head in. He keeps asking why I'm worried - erm you were there last year, it was horrific!

I've got a fairly severe needle phobia which ive had hypnotherapy for so I've booked in a top-up session for the morning as it chills me out.

If any of you met me in real life you wouldn't believe I'm the same person as I am on here, I am so on top of everything and cocky and in control but I feel like I'm falling apart at the moment.

AlbusPercival · 04/05/2016 21:18

Paid attention to headaches today. They seem to peak after any exertion even as little as walking to my desk. Any ideas why that would be?

smellsofelderberries · 04/05/2016 22:18

Albus I would call your midwife and ask about the headaches. I'm sure it's fine but might be worth making a note of how often they're happening for your next appointment?

Fedup I'm so sorry you're struggling Flowers not long to go now, but I know exactly how you feel. It's tough.

My scan is midday so not too long to wait. Hoping I can manage a lie-in in the morning, but DH is working from home and in our warehouse conversion flat that means when he's up and making breakfast, I'm awake Angry

FuzzyOwl · 04/05/2016 23:18

Great news Spotty.

Good luck tomorrow Fedup, LittleGrey, Smells and anyone else with a scan. Sending lots of positive thoughts and vibes.

I live in a different area now LittleGrey so hopefully the midwife and HV team are better here. In all honestly, I think it was more the horror at having to get dressed in case they turned up at 8.30 in the morning that got me last time. I am much more relaxed about looking like a lazy slob this time!

Spottyladybird · 05/05/2016 05:45

After the euphoria of the scan, last night I ended up in out of hours. I've got a UTI and despite having a full bladder I'm often unable to wee or just passing a trickle. So uncomfortable. Been given antibiotics but if it doesn't start working today they're going to catheterise. Sad

ElleSarcasmo · 05/05/2016 05:46

Goldfinch that sounds horrendous! I'm sure you could get a private midwife-I have come across one or two when searching for other things in my area. I can definitely see the appeal of knowing who will be with you all the way through.

fuzzywuzzy mine is the 19th, they said they would normally do it a week later (in case you are too early for the combined screening) but I am away the 2 weeks after that. I've got my fingers crossed I won't be put back and have even longer to go than I thought! 7 months feels like forever!

ElleSarcasmo · 05/05/2016 05:50

Oh Spotty UTIs are the worst Sad. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in quickly and you will start to feel better soon. Have you tried a warm shower/jug of warm water if it's painful peeing? Flowers

bobcat85 · 05/05/2016 07:06

Sorry to hear that Spotty, hope you feel better soon.

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

CakeAndChocolate · 05/05/2016 08:08

spotty that's rotten luck, I hope the ABs kick in soon.

Good luck for scans today everyone!

tiredmumrighthere · 05/05/2016 08:08

Morning All- great news about the successful scans yesterday.

Good luck to those having theirs today!
Mines tomorrow and I can't wait, so excited!!

FuzzyOwl · 05/05/2016 10:26

Really hope the antibiotics start working soon Spotty.

Hope today's scans go well.

AlbusPercival · 05/05/2016 10:39

Good luck for all of todays scans

Saw GP about my headaches. BP normal, no protein in urine etc, so feeling reassured, will take some paracetamol and hope for the best

Thurlow · 05/05/2016 10:45

Good luck to those who have scans as well today, especially fed up, and fingers crossed you feel better soon, spotty.

smellsofelderberries · 05/05/2016 10:52

Leaving for the hospital in a minute and the nerves have really kicked in! Confused

Bollyroo · 05/05/2016 11:49

First good news scan of the day! We are all systems GO! Beyond relieved.

The sonographer was lovely and was fine about only doing a structural scan. She did say that the nuchal measurement looked well within the range anyway. Poppet was dancing around all over the place, we all couldn't stop laughing! We were in there for nearly an hour. One of the best experiences ever and we got the video dvd, photos and an exciting little bag of baby goodies for free. Yay!

Really good luck to everyone else. xxx

FuzzyOwl · 05/05/2016 11:57

Brilliant news Bolly.

Glad your GP checked you over Albus.
