LittleGrey I'm so so sorry. Fingers crossed you can form a treatment plan soon. Just know we are all here for you Flowers

And tiredmum, I don't want to sound like a bitch (and I'm sure I will) but there is good reason you're told to take folic acid in pre-conception and the first trimester of pregnancy; it reduces the instance of neural tube defects by around 60%. If you think you're busy now then imagine how impossible your life would be with a 5th baby with spina bifida or anencephaly. There is so much out there that you can see as overkill and medical professionals being way too conservative during pregnancy, but taking a very, very cheap tablet once a day really isn't one of them.

Woody096 · 14/05/2016 00:41

Little grey, what shocking news. I hope Tuesday has some positive news, like everyone else as said we are here to support you and I hope you & dp are being well supported xx

Bollyroo · 14/05/2016 00:42

Littlegrey, what a shitty thing but they've found it and can treat it. Be positive, ask for as much support as you need and REST!

The change in hormones during pregnancy can trigger tumour growth - happened to my sister but several doctors just told her the migraines, blackouts, blurry vision was all part of being exhausted through pregnancy. Anyway, eventually a neurologist listened to her, whipped out the tumour and 5 years on she is absolutely the same as ever. It was the scariest time of our family's life but we've grown together so much more because of it.

So please please try not to be scared. As others have said, we're here for you and are thinking about you. xx

Fedupithink · 14/05/2016 02:45

Oh Littlegrey I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I hope you have lots of rl support?

On the positive side they know it's there now and can treat it accordingly. Flowers

AlbusPercival · 14/05/2016 07:26

Sending you lots of good wishes for a speedy recovery little

needanewjob · 14/05/2016 08:17

littlegrey it's such a lot to deal with. I hope you managed to get some sleep last night.

tiredmumrighthere · 14/05/2016 08:52

Smells-I understand what your saying (and no it doesn't come across bitchy) but sometimes playing by the rules doesn't always do justice! I've seen plenty of woman do all that's asked of them to find out their baby died weeks before their scan or they've Miss carried or find out that baby is poorly anyway, sometimes being more care free pays off.like I said years ok woman didn't have lotions and potions to take and there babies were fine,it's all about the luck of the draw at the end of the day!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend Smile

ElleSarcasmo · 14/05/2016 09:25

Littlegrey thinking of you, that must have been a terrible shock. Hope you are getting lots of RL support Flowers

Jam it probably isn't on their radar at all at that age! Glad I'm not the only one who's showing early!

FuzzyOwl · 14/05/2016 11:27

It's such a lovely day here but I just can't summon the energy to do anything. Luckily DD is still asleep but I am sure she will wake up before long, so I need to make the most of being lazy.

Hope everyone is enjoying the you weekend.

Bollyroo · 14/05/2016 13:06

Fuzzy, I've been exactly the same today. Just so lethargic.

I've completely lost my appetite for the last 2 weeks and it's getting quite annoying now. Don't seem to have any interest in food or drink. Not even ice cream. So upset! I've been force feeding myself small snacks like pears, toast and a bit of chicken but it's getting me down a bit now. I'm now 3kg under my usual weight. DH has been overseas with work for the last week so that probably doesn't help.

Does anyone have any tips?

oddsockfairy · 14/05/2016 14:28

Hello everyone - had my '12 week' scan yesterday but turns out I'm a week behind so will need to go back... All seems fine though and the little one was swimming about quite happily! Fears about the ultrasound not getting through my mum tum unfounded so yay! Grin

almondbutter · 14/05/2016 14:32

Bolly I've been going with high calorie drinks when I haven't been able to get food down. Chocolate milkshake, sipped over ages, has been a lifesaver. Not healthy but a good 600-800 calories usually.

oddsockfairy · 14/05/2016 14:32

Oh also... Went to a wedding yesterday (first one sober in a while!) and wearing a long dress - lets just say I looked proper pregnant! I'm amazed I seem to be showing so early - anyone else?!? Perhaps everything just remembered what to do from last time?! Confused

FuzzyOwl · 14/05/2016 14:43

I do love chocolate milkshakes and pregnancy is a great excuse! Grin

Sometimes I have a noticeable bump and other times I just look a bit bloated. Certainly it is all much much earlier than last time.

Glad everything was ok and you get another scan odd.

Spottyladybird · 14/05/2016 15:07

I look v pregnant sometimes and not at all at others. Last time I didn't show until at least 18 weeks, I've been showing since 12 this time.

littlegrey sending you the hugest hugs lovey. What huge news to try to process.

coppergrey · 14/05/2016 17:54

I definitely have a belly but I think it's just bloating - it's not really there in the morning but is currently quite uncomfortable!

Going to tell the family in an hour. VERY nervous! Anyone else get super nervous making the announcement? I'm dreading it but also really excited?!

Fedupithink · 14/05/2016 18:12

Ahh good luck Copper I hope it goes well!

I found it a bit awkward so just dropped it into conversations, mum: did DH have a good bday me: yeah, we went into town, did some shopping and then went to see the midwife....

Then we text all our friends after the 12 week scan with the scan pic and just a line of text that said: introducing baby fedup, due 12th Nov x

I'm 14 weeks today and like Spotty sometimes I don't show at all and others in huge but must all be bloating still to be this changeable. First thing though when it's all flat there is a definite litte ridge under my belly button that must be baby.

RuskBaby · 14/05/2016 18:20

Copper I am telling 3 of my best friends this evening - beyond nervous!

Beelzebubble · 14/05/2016 18:36

Anyone else cramping? I'm 15+2. Quite sharp pain in the pelvis? Feels quite heavy?

almondbutter · 14/05/2016 18:43

Beel yup yup, sitting cramping on train and was thinking 'oh I wonder if any of the other MNers are getting the same' so thank you for posting. 15 + 3 here.

Beelzebubble · 14/05/2016 19:07

It's such a relief when someone else feels the same!

FuzzyOwl · 14/05/2016 19:08

I have had some horrible cramps today. Ouch!

Will start a new thread and post the link here as we only have room for one message left.
