Wow! Thread number three.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
almondbutter · 30/04/2016 21:11

beel and woody me too. Thought I was on the up and up (am 13+3) but last two days been puking and back to the dreaded all day nausea of week 9-10. However I feel psychologically stronger for the break and looking forward to it going away again: definitely not feeling as gloomy as I was in week 9 when I felt like it was neverending. Hope you're back on track soon.

needanewjob · 30/04/2016 22:24

I've resigned myself to the fact that this pregnancy I am able to get through the working week and that is it! We were out all afternoon today and I'm done in! Tomorrow morning I shall be lazing in bed with a big cup of (rooibos) tea

AlbusPercival · 01/05/2016 05:59

14 +3 today. DH away and sales are on. Is it ok to go look at baby bits? DH says too soon, but a) he's not here and b) I'd like to spread the cost

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/05/2016 06:31

albus nothing wrong with looking, and if you were to spot a real bargain it would be rude not to consider it!

Sorry some of you are feeling sick again, I recommend a restful day for all of us (sick or not!)

Spottyladybird · 01/05/2016 07:13

Feeling decidedly not pregnant this morning. Not sure if it's lack of nausea or the tummy bug I've had this weekend. I'm 12+3 too and I'm sure last time I felt better at12 weeks. Scan on Wednesday can't come quick enough.

OP posts:
Fedupithink · 01/05/2016 07:37

Oh Albus deffo hit the shops! I would but my scan isn't until Thursday so trying not to tempt fate but you should go for it and of course report back on all the cute bargains you pick up!

needanewjob · 01/05/2016 08:24

ooh go shopping and report back with your goodies. I'm such an enabler

AlbusPercival · 01/05/2016 08:43

Haha cheers guys!

Any recommendations for shops?

Fedupithink · 01/05/2016 08:48

I popped into Mamas & Papas when I was at a bigger shopping centre ages ago, just felt kind of compelled to go in and they have some lovely stuff. Turned out afterwards that I was pregnant at the time too!

I think Boots have lovely clothes too which are often overlooked and I hear H&M are great for gender neutral stuff.

Bollyroo · 01/05/2016 09:47

Albus, I love your spreading the cost concept! Will be using that every time I go shopping from now on.

Spotty, I have the same feeling but keep telling myself that symptoms come and go. I've had spotting the last few days but again I'm convincing myself that it's the 12week would be period. Keep thinking about what Shared must be going through. Tuesday can't come soon enough for my scan.

fuzzywuzzy · 01/05/2016 10:07

Albus I am itching to buy some baby bits but I've told myself not till after at least my twelve week scan.

bobcat85 · 01/05/2016 10:08

Same here Spotty, after terrible nausea early this week it's pretty much gone now. I've had it slightly but definitely not as bad as it was previously.
I've still felt really tired, had some friends round last night to watch a film and I had to go to bed half way through as I was so tired. It was annoying as I've kind of been hiding away from social occasions due to illness and would have been nice to spend time with people, never mind.

For those of you who have announced your pregnancy after the 12 week scan how have you done it? Hoping we can announce after Wednesday all being well.

FuzzyOwl · 01/05/2016 11:24

Definitely go and have a look Albus and let us know what you see/get.

It is worrying Spotty but sometimes symptoms do come and go, whilst other times they fade away altogether or don't start. You are at the right time for things to be starting to get easier but I completely understand how anxious you must be. I really hope your scan comes around quickly.

AlbusPercival · 01/05/2016 12:00

Omg why are clothes so small so expensive! Going to have to rethink the whole budget I think!

FuzzyOwl · 01/05/2016 12:06

Where are you looking Albus? Some supermarkets do great clothes that are a good price and great colours.

fuzzywuzzy · 01/05/2016 12:36

Albus in the first few months baby just needs vests and babygrows. You will get so many baby clothes gifts you will be up to your eyeballs in cute baby clothes. So don't buy too many yourself.

Personally I'm keeping baby in babygrows as long as possible they're easy to get on and off and for nappy changing.

I'm lazy tho.

CakeAndChocolate · 01/05/2016 12:37

Albus sainsburys is great for vests/babygrows and actually do really nice patterns and colours. That's pretty much all baby will live in for the first 3 months. You don't need to buy cute outfits as family/friends will do that when baby is born.

AlbusPercival · 01/05/2016 12:54

It's a batman babygro. DH birthday soon and he's very into batman. Also had to call mum for wise advice as I went straight into 3-6 months when I was born. Feeling a bit out of my depth

fuzzywuzzy · 01/05/2016 13:30

Amazon has a few different prices.

AlbusPercival · 01/05/2016 14:13

Lesson learned, supermarkets are the way forward!

CakeAndChocolate · 01/05/2016 14:58

I've just woken up from a 2 hour nap and I'm so tired I can barely move!

smellsofelderberries · 01/05/2016 17:52

I had another sicky, knackered day yesterday (out of bed at 10.30 and still had two naps!) and today I am SO HUNGRY. DH has promised to make me pancakes in the morning and I'm SO EXCITED. I don't know if anyone really knows pleasure until they have a pregnancy craving fulfilled.

Jamjar12 · 01/05/2016 18:37

Haha, we were shopping for dinner yesterday and I just said I really want a big salad. We bought croutons, dressing, garlic stuffed olives (I was very particular that they had to be stuffed with garlic and poor DH spent forever trying to find some), breaded mushrooms, loads of fresh salad bits, Parmesan, a big four dip tray thing... DH was all excited that I was enthusiastic for tea...

Got in the car and ate a celery stick- it was heaven! When we got home, I just wanted to dunk celery in the four dips, screw everything else. He didn't understand just how amazing the celery and dips was haha. Neither do I now, come to think of it. But it genuinely felt like the best thing I'd ever eaten in my life!!

AyeAmarok · 01/05/2016 20:25

Hi everyone, just tentatively dipping my toe back in. It's weird, I think dates-wise I'm ahead of many of you but still have over a week to go until my scan! Jam I think you and I are similar there, we seem to have ours very late.

I think once I have that it will feel more real. I'm very wary of getting ahead of myself at the moment, until I see that there really is a baby in there and it's not all just a mix-up. For that reason I'm apprehensive about joining in with the thread too much in case I've got it all wrong and then I'll look a bit daft!

Still feeling quite sick, that hasn't eased yet. I have been getting out for runs still, and making myself go even when I don't want to. Had a few spewy ones though Blush Albus I think I remember you were still getting out too? How are you finding it?

almondbutter · 01/05/2016 21:05

Has anyone started with the BioOil/cocoa butter/other miracle anti stretch mark cream yet?

I got terrible stretch marks as a teenager and am super pale, so am anticipating some with pregnancy.
