Wow! Thread number three.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tiredmumrighthere · 28/04/2016 07:49

Fingers crossed and best wishes for all you with scans today Smile

Last nights sleep was a bit better, although I was woken a few times with him snoring, a few kicks and all was well again Wink

Saying that my youngest has an awful cold and cough and didn't stop hacking all night, so last night was less snoring more coughing (don't know which is worse)
But feel much more human than I did yesterday morning!

INeedNewShoes · 28/04/2016 08:05

Hope all of today's scans go well.

I feel so far behind. I haven't even been booked in yet! Appointment with the midwife tomorrow though so I'm hoping I'll have a date for a scan to look forward to/dread soon.

coppergrey · 28/04/2016 08:58

Good luck to all with scans today! Flowers

almondbutter · 28/04/2016 09:15

Quick question for those who have had scans: do I need to take my big bundle of paperwork along that mw gave me at booking appt? Thanks x

Thurlow · 28/04/2016 09:34

Yep, take everything almond - you take everything to every midwife appointment and scan. Pretty much every appointment, really.

almondbutter · 28/04/2016 09:39

Thanks Thurlow -- how are you doing?

Spindelina · 28/04/2016 09:41

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

Shared I hope you are doing OK.

First time round I had horrid cramp-like stretching pains down my sides and round into my pelvis. Really really uncomfortable and ended up with me just sitting on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. Not had anything like that this time - I guess everything is pre-stretched.

Our fire alarms decided to go off for no reason at 2am this morning, which was not appreciated! Me, up a ladder, trying to work out which one of the detectors was the faulty one, was not amused.

Spindelina · 28/04/2016 09:45

When I had my DD, I was working about 90 minutes away from home, so I took all my notes with me every day in case I had to go to the hospital local to where I worked. All that paperwork got on my nerves by the end! Now I work in the hospital where I plan to give birth, which is about 2 miles from home - much more convenient.

SharedLife · 28/04/2016 09:54

Thank you all for well wishes. We have our appointment at 12.15. Will let you know what happens. Good luck to everyone else today xxx

needanewjob · 28/04/2016 10:19

Well today I broke out the maternity jeans! I'm only 13+3! Had my combined tests on Tuesday and I've read that if there's a high risk then a specialist midwife will call me within 3 working days - I'm trying not to stress too much about it but my phone is surgically attached to my side.

Wishing everyone happy scans today, I find scans so magical

Indianacat · 28/04/2016 11:09

Hi Ladies thank you for the warm welcome Smile... I don't feel as sorry for myself today!!

Can I ask you all if you have a blog and/or follow a blog at all around pregnancy/mum's to be and that sort. Any recommendations would be great, ta

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/04/2016 13:38

just back from my scan, Everything is fine :o

My bloods were done last week so we got all the combined test results straight away and I'm low risk. Which considering I'm 40 is really good news.

Hope everyone else has good news too.

almondbutter · 28/04/2016 13:54

Scan went well, baby measuring 13+1 so now due Nov 2nd. Everything quite rushed so didn't have a chance to take it in really but saw some wriggling. It was lying on its tummy to start with so had to drink about a litre of Lucozade and it moved. Thinking of the rest of you x

likeawestern · 28/04/2016 13:57

Congratulations almond and Beedles! Two down, three yo go!!

coppergrey · 28/04/2016 14:03

Great news, Beedles and almond!

Indiana, I have a blog and have done for many years... if all goes well I'd really like to document the pregnancy, although not sure how I feel about documenting the resulting baby!

I find mummy blogs quite hard to relate to as they seem to fall into two camps - perfect family life with perfect children and not a care in the world, or sarcastic, 'I'm pretending I don't know what I'm doing for this hilarious, downtrodden-mother content' - neither of which I find particularly helpful!

Maybe I'm wrong, though? Suggestions and thoughts welcomed!

FuzzyOwl · 28/04/2016 14:19

Great news Beedle and Almond.

If anyone else wants to join our secret FB group, especially now plenty more scans are out of the way, just send me a PM with the email address you use to log in and I will send you the link. Smile

smellsofelderberries · 28/04/2016 14:37

YAY almond and beedle!!

copper I know what you mean about the Mummy Blogs. I used to blog and do still journal, but I do document quite a bit on Instagram instead of actually blogging now.

mrsdane · 28/04/2016 14:40

Hi all,

I've been loitering on here for a few weeks now and have found it tremendously reassuring to read your symptoms and shared experiences. Waking at 4am for a wee and then not being able to get back to sleep struck a chord!

I'm 11+6 and had my scan today - was so moving to see the baby on the screen. All was well so I am very relieved. Due 11/11. Today seems a busy day for scans - hope all of the others go well.

Indiana, amodelrecommends.com is good - she has a baby blog, called theuphill.com from when she had a baby last year and speaks very honestly about her body and feelings from about week 13 right through to almost a year later. It's really interesting to read.

goldfinch01 · 28/04/2016 14:40

Great to hear all went well Beedles and Almond Smile

BeedlesPineNeedles · 28/04/2016 14:42

Great news Almond sorry it felt a bit rushed though - I could have stayed there forever watching it!

fuzzyo I will send you a message :o

tiredmumrighthere · 28/04/2016 14:50

Welcome Mrs Smile

Lovely too hear of positive scans today x

mssleepyhead · 28/04/2016 16:05

Hello all,
Gosh - so many messages! It's hard to keep up! I'm glad to hear about all of the lovely scans. I still have 3 weeks to wait until my 13 week one. I'm 10 weeks now and anxious about declining symptoms. It feels a bit soon to be feeling better. That said, breastfeeding is still incredibly painful so I'm hoping that's a good sign at least! Went and picked up some second hand maternity clothes today, far too early but they were a good price so I thought I'd go for it. Still, feels too soon really. I have no bump at all!
Keep the happy scan news coming! Smile

mssleepyhead · 28/04/2016 16:10

Shared, I have just read your post and I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened at your scan today but a friend of mine went through a very similar experience recently and blogged about it to try and share awareness for others who may go something similar. Her blog is here: lemonsugar.wordpress.com/2015/12/
I really hope you won't need it and that everything is fine xx

coppergrey · 28/04/2016 16:10

Welcome mrsdane - totally agree with you on A Model Recommends - The Uphill is actually the only baby blog I enjoy! Good shout.

smells I love Instagram and will definitely do lots of documenting there!

FuzzyOwl · 28/04/2016 16:16

Welcome mrs.
