Ugh I've being waking at midnight, 2am, 5am and getting up at 7am since the beginning not a good sign if that's what it means! I did manage to get back to sleep until 9:30 this morning tho!

Thanks potato I think there must be lots of stretching and growing at the mo.

We have all the estate agent fun to look forward to! We're looking at buying a house in July/August. Then DH wants to rent our flat rather than sell, I could do without the hassle but can see his point re investment

PotatosMum · 16/04/2016 16:08

So, mortgage appointment done and we can afford the type of house we want. I've also been told that the flat will definitely be online by tonight (we'll see)

Also had a look at baby clothes in ASDA most of the girls clothes looked like a unicorn had thrown up on them (pink and sparkly) which I've discovered is really not me! But I do now have 14 very cute baby grows. DSD wanted to buy the baby a swimming costume Hmm can't see that I'll be up for swimming in the first couple of months so we let her choose a evil looking cuddly bunny she liked instead.

Oh, I've also finally got around to photographing baby's first books and the hedgehog cuddly I bought because I loved it. Grin

That bunny does look slightly evil Potato! Loving the first books though!

Glad the meeting went well and that the estate agent seems to have pulled their finger out with your flat!

Laurenrl · 16/04/2016 16:49

Found out I'm joining team pink today! Have always believed I was having a boy so clearly my intuition is out!! Bf booked a scan for his birthday as it was killing him not knowing, am relieved he did though as I'm 16+2 today and my scan isn't until 21+5! Super excited now!!

Pinklily1 · 16/04/2016 17:51

Welcome to Team Pink Lauren! We've had a flurry of girls over the past few days!

PotatosMum · 16/04/2016 18:46

Congratulations Lauren, team pink really is dominating!
I've had my downs test results back and they are very low so I'm very pleased. Plus I bought a gorgeous pink and white throw on sale at tk maxx..I'll just get a refund next week if we find out we're on team blue

Laurenrl · 16/04/2016 19:41

Thanks indi! Are you having a early gender scan too?

Laurenrl · 16/04/2016 19:42

That's ridiculous potato!! Did you go with the estate agent that you were comfortable with?

IndiX · 16/04/2016 19:43

Yeah Lauren I'm getting one next Thursday when I'll be 15+1, they don't tell you the sex where I live even at 20weeks so wanted to know as early as possible. I'm so excited to find out!

Laurenrl · 16/04/2016 19:57

Amazing! It's a lovely feeling knowing, I've been in shock all day after fully believing she was a boy though! Live the blanket! We have a Tk maxx here may have to have a look tomorrow. My auntie who had a 5 & 7 year old has been at a NCT meeting today and got me loads of goodies! This baby has more stuff than me I think already haha

DrWhy · 16/04/2016 20:16

Right, I'm finally popping my head back in here since I probably need to face the reality that among everything else going on at the moment I am in fact pregnant and in 5 months there will be a baby!
So,
19+1 today
Due September 8th
The (brief) update of the last 6 weeks.
Living (camping) in new house since Tuesday - spent another day unpacking today. Flat should go on the market on Monday if the surveyor and the roofing company can agree whether the roof is actually repaired!
Mum and sister coming up to visit for 20 week scan on Thursday (need to clear enough space for them to sleep!).
DH should be home the following Wednesday - hurrah! He's going to be faced with a mountain of boxes and a wife that has rather expanded over the previous 9 weeks.
Pretty much everything still reminds me of dad and makes me cry. Probate, trust etc all rumbling along.
Trying to get DH to agree and book a holiday, it's needed.
Pregnancy wise I've been fine (thank goodness) but substantial fibroid means I'm under consultant care at the moment - we'll see what next weeks scan brings.
I hope everyone else is doing well.

Mileymoocow · 16/04/2016 21:17

Hi Dr!!!! Nice to see you back. Hope you're doing ok. Sorry to hear you've been having a tough time.

Mileymoocow · 16/04/2016 21:19

indi I think team pink for you!!! That throw is gorgeous! Smile

runner get on the phone to them and start practising your angry mum voice! Wink

IndiX · 16/04/2016 21:47

I'm kind of convinced its blue Miley ..so god knows why I bought the throw but it was too nice (and too much of a bargain) to not buy it Grin
Sorry you've got a lot on atm dr and things aren't going smoothly for you. Hopefully everything will settle soon..it's typical that everything happens at once though isn't it!

PotatosMum · 16/04/2016 22:24

Sorry things have been rubbish for you Dr I really hope that everything settles down and you can concentrate on being pregnant. Good luck for your scan. I had mine yesterday and it's such a relief when it was over and I realised Potato is fine. Are you going to find out the sex?

I don't know if you remember but I also have a big ass fibroid which is currently 12cm and looking like it may start to degenerate in the near future... Really not looking forward to the pain that will cause if/when it happens.
What monitoring have they put you on? I'm currently having midwife and specialist appointments and I've got scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. I've also got to go to hospital for the birth and have a managed third stage in case of a bleed fun

Ps... In case you missed it, I'm Runner05 by a different name Smile

Hi all!

God, first week back has been a nightmare. We're in countdown to exams mode, and I have 2 A level classes, 1 AS, and 1 GCSE, plus an A level form. They're all having a giant freakout, and I'm trying to get through revision with them, whilst reassuring. Which is hard when they are actually doing badly... (Fortunately just a few of them ). Plus we had parents evening. I'm knackered!

So... Fantastic scan news (and photos) Lara, Potato, Lauren, Lillian and Shelb!! How exciting! And team pinks!!

I also had a scan on Friday, my repeat one. It was a blob with a heartbeat!! Measuring two days behind my dates, but I can live with that!! So so relieved! My cyst has gone, but last Friday I had horrendous pain on the right side, do MW reckons it ruptured then. So I think I'm 7 weeks today, but measuring 6+5.

Miley so glad to hear tablets are helping! You've had a horrendous time of it!

Bunch what a bruise! despite once being a student who needed to practise I have refused to let students near me since DS1. A student midwife left me with a bruise that went from wrist to elbow. It was still there the next time I saw the proper midwife who was a bit "Bloody hell! Make sure you never let a student do yours again!", so I've stuck to it. And then a different student mis weighed DS1 at birth, added 8oz to him, which meant 4 weeks of hassle as he "still hadn't regained his birth weight". I totally understand they need to practise, but not on me anymore Confused

I have had constant sickness for a week now. Not much being sick, but feel constantly like I'm about to. It's getting a bit grim. No cravings, just aversions to everything. I know eating helps, but this morning I can't face anything at all!
And I'm so tired! And then I have insomnia. Pissed off!

Re gender... With DS1 we actually both wanted a girl, so we're a tiny bit disappointed. Got over it very quickly though. DS2, we wanted a boy. This time we'd quite like a girl, I think I will be a little disappointed if it's a third boy, but I'll get over that Smile but... I'm sick as a dog, so fingers crossed!

Potato I hope your estate agents sort themselves out, what a pain!

Jamjar12 · 17/04/2016 09:10

Oh god Imp, I'm so scared of going back to school. We had our holiday and week late so I'm back tomorrow. I also have an A level, 2 AS classes and a GCSE class! I'm also going to go crazy getting all the coursework done for my Year 10s so they stand a good chance with the maternity cover being arranged for me next year. I've had tons of emails from students asking how many days I'm staying after school to do extra support sessions... If I currently manage to do housework for more than an hour at a time, I consider that a win!

Congrats on your scan looking good! I had mine at 7+4 but she said they might knock me back 2 days but not to change my dates yet so I'm in a weird limbo where I'm somewhere around 8+3 to 8+1! Glad yours is going all ok!

Pinklily1 · 17/04/2016 09:20

Morning all

Imp - so pleased they found a heartbeat and everything seems ok! I was wondering how you'd been getting on. Will they have the do anything about the cyst now if it has burst?

Potato, if your flat hasn't appeared on Right Move overnight I'd be kicking up a fuss. I hate it when people say something will be done by a given time and its not.

I am having a bit of a stress about weight gain today. A few years ago, I was overweight, lost about 6.5 stone, and settled around the 10st 7lbs mark, which I was happy with. I weighed myself this morning and I'm now 11st 7lbs and its totally freaked me out. I'm not sure exactly how much i've put on in pregnancy as I had put on a few pounds over Christmas and then lost a bit with sickness, but I think its about 10lbs weight gain so far (i'm almost 21 weeks).

I am not comfortable at all being above the 10st window and its making me panic that my weight is just going to go up and up. I've made it worse by googling and finding a website that suggests that, for my height (5"8), I should be 11st 3lbs at this stage Shock I thought I would be ok with the weight gain as I know its needed for baby, but evidently not.

I couldn't face the gym in the early stages of pregnancy because I was so sick, but in the last two weeks i've got back into spinning and running, so hopefully that will help. My appetite also seems to have increased though.

Not sure what the point is in posting this, but just wanted to get it off my chest. OH made a passing comment last night that I had 'filled out'. I think he means my boobs and bump and he didn't mean it in a horrible way, but he also hasn't seemed interested in DTD recently, and now I've realised how much weight I've put on i'm worried i'm getting fat and he's not finding me attractive Sad Off to the gym soon...

Is anyone else struggling with the weight gain?

BunchOfBobs · 17/04/2016 09:25

Welcome back Dr. Sorry thing shave been tough but I hope encounter to start enjoying your pregnancy.

So glad all is well Impy I've been worried things weren't as you've been so quiet.

Re disappointment at finding out the sex, I wanted a girl (as so many boys in the family) and DH wanted a boy. I was so ecstatic to find out in having a boy as I prefer the clothes and DH found out he felt disappointed- totally over now though. Weird how you think you know what you want. Obviously healthy baby is all that matters.

Re weight im putting on a steady 0.1-0.2 kg every day Shock with once a week putting on 0.5kg in a day. No idea where it's going other than bump boobs and bum but I'm happy with it.

ImpYCelyn · 17/04/2016 09:58

Sympathy Jam, the day before you go back is the worst! I am shattered at the end of the day though. I have no idea how I'll get all my marking done!! They're all writing practice essays like mad and I want to cry at the piles that have built up in a week! I'm doing lunch time support sessions, I need to leave by the end of the day!

Fortunately we're through CA for this year, but my current 10s are going to need a decent cover teacher to get through it next year!

Pink, no that's it. I guess if I get another one they'll monitor it, but it's gone Smile I had surgery on my leg having waited for ages for it, so I'm now overweight. Having lost baby weight plus post DS2 and being in the healthy bmi range (I'm always heavy though, I have lots of muscle). So I was 73kg, but I'm now 85!! SadSad I'm having a massive freak out about weight gain, as I would have hoped to finish a pregnancy around that! I can still wear all my 10 or 12 clothes, so I don't think I look as overweight as I feel, but I know how squidgy I am underneath. But, I've been signed off by physio now, so I've started doing exercise videos. I can't get through a whole one yet, but I'm building up, and I got a fit bit, so I'm walking more. And I eat pretty healthily. So I'm aiming to try to maintain for as long as possible, if not the whole way. We'll see... I suspect it's a fantasy.

Bunch thanks! No, it was a combo of being overwhelmed at work and being so worried about it that I retreated a bit. I saw you got your Tripp Trapp though!! What colour? Are you getting the newborn set?

Mileymoocow · 17/04/2016 10:27

Ah imp glad everything is going well except the hell that comes with being a teacher!

pink I'm 15 weeks, had very little to eat for weeks, started out at 10st 7, lost a lot but am already at 10st9!!! Bollocks to that website telling you what you should weigh. I'm 5'9" so by that, I imagine at 21 weeks I'll have put on more than a few lb and ill be over the 'normal' weight.

Morning sickness back in full swing. Bastard Angry spewed first thing, spewed on a walk with the dog, spewed after my toast, spewed in the kitchen sink making tea... We have painters in today and I'm too shy to go upstairs to be sick in the toilet so am making do with dog poo bags.

IndiX · 17/04/2016 10:47

Imp and jam I can't imagine the stress of being a teacher this time of the year.

Pink I'm 14+4 gained about 3lbs so far but I am already panicking massively about putting loads of weight on. I've always had issues with my body and weight, I actually became a personal trainer to put my obsession into something healthy and worthwhile than just me stressing about the scales. I would definitely ignore that website, trust your body and how well you know your body. If you're still fitting in 10-12 clothes then you know you're not overweight, keep eating healthy and doing some light exercise and maybe not weigh yourself too often ( that's what I'm planning on doing but I am a scales addict).

I have a question for the team blue or pink girls..how do you think your bump/weight has been distributed so far? I've always heard if you have a neat bump it's a boy and if you have spread to your hips and bum it's a girl. How true do you think this is?

shelbTa · 17/04/2016 11:00

Morning ladies.

Pink - I'm same weeks wise as you and I've put on nearly a stone now. It's mainly tits and a bit of bump, but also my waist has really really thickened out. Bizzarely my appetite has dropped a little past few days so hopefully weight gain might slow a little Blush!! It's hard not to stress about it isn't it. Are you eating well?

Indi - my bump is neatish, quite wide-round and low ish. That's a shit description and probably zero help!

Waves to everyone!

X

Mileymoocow · 17/04/2016 11:01

indi my best friend had a boy and she wouldn't mind me saying this as it's a bit of a running joke with her but she put a lot on on her hips, but her bump was so small! We always say the little one must have been stretching out sideways! My other friend had a boy and she has a huge but very round bump. We painted a big yellow smiley face on it.

Is anyone having a baby shower? Not sure if I will, I kind of want one but not so peple feel obliged to buy us stuff.

Also I know I bang on about mothercare a lot but here having a new mums evening in June (14th and 21st 6pm til 8pm) for us pregnant lot. You get a goody bag and 10% off everything. You do have to register for it though but we're going to get our car seat. The new laws will be in place by October and naturally the new car seats are so bloody expensive!
