I'll catch up properly later but I just need to have a mini pity party for one.

I'm feeling really down today. I know it's just hormones but I just feel so sad for no reason and want to cry. I keep coming over dizzy and my fibroid is hurting, not hospital level hurt just a nagging cramp but it's enough to make me grumpy and a bit paranoid.
I want to skip today and go back to bed.
I'm fed up of everything being difficult. I can't even stand up or sit down easily any more and my face is getting fat. Thoroughly fed up. Sad

Just checking back in. I have been so busy I've not been on for a while! 12+1 today. Not got my first official scan until 13+4.Not done one myself at work for a couple of weeks now, might have to have a sneaky peek to check all is ok this week.

Struggling with heartburn if I don't eat regularly or if I eat chocolate!!!

Quick question - when I saw midwife at 10+1 she took my bloods - would this have included my bloods for my 1st trimester combined screening to match my scan next week?

BunchOfBobs · 18/04/2016 11:16

Potato sorry to hear you're felling down. It happens to me all the time too. Yesterday was because I wanted to organise the baby clothes in the dresser but couldn't as I've already done it Hmmother times for no reason at all, as you said it's hormones but doesn't stop it making the day rubbish.
I'm also struggling with the whole getting up thing. Can you take paracetamol for the pain or would a wheat bag help?

First no I had to have bloods taken on the day of the scan for the combined screenings

I've decided to create an Instagram page for my preggo journey. It's somewhere I can post all the cute things I've bought and bump pics. I use it a lot to stalk other pregnant mums so thought I'd join in.'I used to have a very popular page for my dog and really miss using it so this is something else to keep me distracted. Anyone else use Ig?

IndiX · 18/04/2016 12:02

Potato I had a hormonal day yesterday, had a good cry and a dog walk and felt a bit better. My moods can change within minutes sometimes.
Bunch yes I love ig! And I'm addicted at looking at pregnancy pages too. I've also started using my Facebook business page more, I'm a personal trainer by trade and wanted to use it to document my progress, fitness, exercises and diet through pregnancy. And yes it's a distraction, I'm looking forward to my holiday in 4 weeks and it feels a lifetime away so anything to distract me from the countdown is great.
Miley that's so shit you have to consider cancelling your holiday, how are you today? Have the tablets stopped working? So unfair how bad you've been feeling.

Sodasoda · 18/04/2016 12:07

My scan was fab! Everything looked great Smile LO had their legs crossed so couldn't find out sex which I was relieved about because I didn't want to but I think if I had been faced with the choice I might have caved! It's amazing the detail you can see - baby's got a proper little face!

And...drum roll please.... I know you're all excited to hear about my cervix.... Well it's now a mighty 35mm! Soda and her amazing growing cervix. It could be a nursery story. Or not. Anyway, I just feel so happy and relieved. I haven't felt baby at all and not really got much of a bump so was having lots of paranoid thoughts.

miley 7 weeks is quite a long way away, hopefully you could feel a lot better by then. Are you able to leave it til later to decide to cancel?

first good to see you back here. I had bloods at booking in (think these were for all manner of things) but also bloods on day of 12 week scan - these were for the combined screening test.

potato and bunch sorry you're having down days. Hormones are a tough thing. I'm not a big social media person bunch so no Instagram here!

flash good news on spotting stopping. Symptoms are definitely a good sign! I'm thinking of starting pregnancy Pilates later on (there's a class near me which offers it to third trimester ladies) and I thought it would be a good way to meet people as well as strengthen my core.

IndiX · 18/04/2016 12:10

congrats soda! That's great news xx

StarkyTheDirewolf · 18/04/2016 12:23

I use IG, Admittedly I used to use it more, then stopped, deleted a load of stuff, restarted and now mainly have pictures of the dogs, but I'll happily swap IG names if anyone wants to? I don't use Facebook or Twitter so it's sort of the only social media I have!

I'm feeling distinctly off colour today! Hope everyone is well! I need macdonalds greasy salty chips. But even typing that has made me feel worse! Blergh! Today I will mainly be lying down!

Flashinthepan · 18/04/2016 12:27

Excellent news soda.

There's a class near me that offers pregnancy yoga classes from the end of the first trimester, so still a few weeks to go but feel it will also be a good place to meet some other mums to be as well.

Depressingly, today tea tastes like ham. I love tea. For me this is a pregnancy-related disaster. But work on my shiny new kitchen starts tomorrow (at the mo it has no window and still has outside loo encroaching on it so will be a mega change)!

PotatosMum · 18/04/2016 13:06

Dr sorry you're having such a rubbish time of it. Hopefully when your OH gets back you'll feel a little more positive.
Good luck for your scan!

Miley I know cancelling your holiday would suck but if I were you I would. There's no point going if you're just going to spend the entire time feeling ill and uncomfortable :-(

Lol Pink I've given up completely on keeping myself tidy, even my legs only get done if I'm feeling particularly energetic!

First you'll have the bloods for your combined crooning on the same day as your 12 week scan. The first set of bloods that the midwife does are for general screening.

bunch I have no idea how to even use Instagram Confused

Soda yay for the good scan, I'll add you to team vanilla Wink

Flash I am also a tea addict but haven't been able to drink it since getting pregnant. I really miss tea Sad

Thanks for all the sympathy, I'm glad I'm not the only one getting irrationally sad. Just wish it was time to go home. I want to go to bed and forget today happened.

Thanks for the congrats! Here's a pic from this morning. I think you can make out the face pretty clearly Smile

Danni89 · 18/04/2016 14:01

Hi everyone,

Congrats on the great scan Soda! That'll be me next Monday hopefully.

Flash I was off tea for the first 3 months.

On the weekend I went to a NCT nearly new sale.. If anyone doesn't mind a few second hand bits it was really good. You just have to go on the NCT website and look for the sales in your area. I got these bits for a total of £16!!

BunchOfBobs · 18/04/2016 14:12

Excellent news Soda, so pleased for you.

Yes Starky! My Ig is currently just nursery and baby clothes though so forgive my boringness, it's only day one of this new account. @metomama
I also have no followers yet BlushSad

BunchOfBobs · 18/04/2016 14:38

On a side note, are anyone's nips absolute agony lately? Day four of them hurting so much. Particularly when I'm cold. I feel like putting hand warmers in my bra!!

IrregularCommentary · 18/04/2016 14:42

Flash I'm continuing with my pre pregnancy pilates, though there's quite a bit I can't do. I just get given alternative exercises though so it's no problem. Just make sure your trainer knows you're pregnant as there will be stuff that puts too much pressure on your abdomen and you shouldn't do.

I'm also starting a proper pregnancy pilates group this week as well to try and meet some upduffeds in the area so I don't lose my mind during mat leave!

Thanks for the nct nearly new sale reminder Danni! Fully intend to go to the one near me but if I don't get it in my diary I have no chance.

IrregularCommentary · 18/04/2016 14:44

Sorry to hear you're feeling down potato and you might be a holiday down miley. That socks, Flowers Flowers to you both x

IrregularCommentary · 18/04/2016 14:45

Sucks. Not socks. Obviously. I swear my autocorrect is bordering on sentient, if universally incorrect.

shelbTa · 18/04/2016 15:04

Hi ladies

Aww soda lovely scan, look at the definition on the face!

Thanks potato, down days are shit, and you've got a load to contend with with the fibroid. Are you in work today?

Bunch - I'm gunna set up Ig and follow you! I use Facebook but nothing else. Oh, don't talk to me about nips - mine are awful!!! Dry, leaky, massive.

20 week scan plussers - I've just looked at the scan readings in my maternity booklet. There are no concerning notes from sonographer but I can clearly see the abdominal circumference reading is off the chart at 170. Anyone else have this?

X

Flashinthepan · 18/04/2016 15:19

I'm only 6 weeks and I've gone from just sore boobs to sore nips as well! And sometimes tingly like cold air has blown over them. Its so weird!

PotatosMum · 18/04/2016 16:35

Soda yep, you can definitely see the face very clearly on that scan Smile

Bunch I shall sign up to IG and follow you. It'll give me an excuse to photograph lots of cute baby stuff too Smile

My nips are about the only things that don't hurt at the moment Confused

Shelb yep, I was at work today. I've changed my days so that I'm working from home tomorrow. I want to recover!

I'll have a look at my baby measurements when I get home and let you know if I have any weirdness.

Nevlet · 18/04/2016 16:44

Afternoon all sorry to those who are having a rough time at the moment!

I spend most my time on IG looking at nursery/baby stuff too! I am still just using my personal IG account - will get following if you are happy that its my account (and therefore has my face on it haha)

Flashinthepan · 18/04/2016 16:52

Shelb I googled on your behalf as I'm nowhere near that stage and I read a lot of posts from people with similar measurements to yours saying that it can just be a sign of a chubby (ie cute!) baby, that none of their sonographers or midwives were concerned, and that one was told by their sonographer that that particular measurement is the hardest to get accurate anyway.

Try not to worry but maybe speak to the midwife next time you see her to put your mind at rest?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 18/04/2016 16:54

nev if you follow bunch then you'll find me! I'm following her!

I just nearly cried because I don't know which takeaway I want later on, because I sort of want them all so I can pick bits of each. Dh would do this for me, but it seems wasteful to get a big mac, bucket of chicken, sweet and sour chicken AND a pizza...I'm being ridiculous.

Sodasoda · 18/04/2016 16:59

Hi shelb, I had a cheeky extra scan at 15 weeks (when I had a cervical check) and baby's tummy was right at the top end of the chart. The sonographer had a laugh about it at the time so I didn't really worry. I've just compared it to my scan measurements from this morning and the andominal circumference is now right in the middle of the scale so I guess things can change very quickly. If there were any concerns I'm sure they'd have mentioned it. Hope that helps! Smile

Pinklily1 · 18/04/2016 17:39

Hi ladies

Soda, I'm not sure I've ever felt happy about a cervix before, but yippee for your cervix!! Such a great scan picture too.

Shelb, I'll check what our measurements were when we get home.

Danii, I hadn't realised there are NCT seconds sales, will have a look. That's an amazing bunch of stuff for £16!

Sorry you are both feeling a bit down potato and bunch. I'm generally ok with the hormones but I did have a cry at the weekend when I was in my "I'm hideous and fat" phase. I'm over that now though! I suppose we just have to take each day as it comes.

Starky, I reckon just go with it - if you want pizza and macdonalds get them. If your OH is anything like mine, he'll eat any leftovers!

Pyxie · 18/04/2016 17:53

Great new Soda, and what a lovely scan picture!

I'd never heard of NCT second hand sales, thanks for the info Danii, those bits look great - what a bargain!

I've also totally gone off tea, I used to drink peppermint during the day and then camomile at home in the evening, but I just can't stomach either now, it actually makes me quite sad!
